Emma Corrin from the show The Crown is playing the big bad Cassandra Nova in this movie, who in an alternative Universe was the twin sister of professor Xavier and killed him in the womb and said to be more powerful and evil than Professor X. That is why the TVA have trapped her.
I thought Charles killed her when they were in the womb but her hate and will to live had her reconstruct herself with DNA to fight Charles and the xmen.

I don't think Hugh is underrated personally, I've never heard anyone not give him his props in convo. He's definitely not 1 I've heard people say are "overrated" and I've heard that about basically every top movie star.
The portal is symbology...Marvel reaquired the X-Men rights from Sony in 2019. So wherever Deadpool and Wolverine are at that point (possibly the Void) when they jump through, they're jumping into the MCU. Which will open the gates for all of the X-Men, and thereby their villains to enter as well. In the dead Giant Man (Ant Man when he's big) shot. There's Azazel, Pyro, Lady Deathstrike, Toad, and Sabretooth (Brotherhood of Evil Mutants). That means Marvel will have a chance to remake the X-Men movies or just continue on with that storyline however they see fit. I.E. more movies of characters / story archs fans care about instead of searching through the backwater catalogue of comics that never sold as much as X-Men did. (*cough Capt. Marvel / Marvels *cough)
