Thank you... for people who are curious to see what the Sony RX10 III is capable of this may be one of the best field test demo video available on you tube as of Dec 4th 2016 Ive checked out the others..
Wow you should just do camera demos as this is by far the best I have seen regarding what the rx10 iii can do,, to the 41 who have disliked this they need there heads testing because it's rare that you get someone who demos all of a camera's capabilities for the Joe public to see so for me bud a big thumbs up to yer!! Great video And a lot of thought gone in to this so fuck the haters!!!!!! Great camera great video keep them coming bud!!!!.
A very impressive camera. Sony has a real winner in their 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor. They use an almost identical sensor in their superb FDR-AX100 4K camcorder, though that sensor isn't stacked. I see the same characteristics in video from both cameras; very vibrant and natural colors, excellent detail and sharpness, and a very clean, noise-free presentation. If you wanted a great camera package for vacations and travel, I think the RX10 III and the FDR-AX100 would have almost every situation covered. If you wanted to add a pocketable "street" camera to the set, the RX100 IV would do perfectly. It uses the same stacked, back lit 20.1MP Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor as the RX10 III, and you could fit all three cameras in one medium-sized camera bag. Great job Sony. By the way, your video was very well done. Thanks for sharing it.
"Motion shoots App" at 7:48 and again at 10:35. Not enough information. Was that at 5fps or 14fps? Or something else? It is quite clever how you created the sequence but of no use without accurate information. I haven't seen ANY videos showing the 14fps shooting a string of sports stills. You know - running, jumping, kicking a ball ie competitive fast action but with detailed information. Why not? Isn't the camera any good at focussing that quickly?
How does the zoom lens work? Is it that you turn the zoom ring and the lens zooms electrically? Or is completely manual, so that the zoom ring rotation translates into actual zoom speed? Thanks. I'm seriously considering buying one of these cameras and haven't seen any information on this feature.
Dude this review is great has all I need to know about the camera congratz i have the A7SII and let me tell you is great but I always need to carry like 6 primes and 2 zooms.. and cant do slow mo. I am a little concerned about the noise in 1000 fps of the video but guess is worth it till I have 150k for a phantom as i said all the info you need to know about this camera is in the video
This is a great review video. Are you able to achieve shallow depth of field at 24-35mm? Doesn't need to be full frame level DOF/bokeh but just want to be able to blur the background some. If so, this is truly the first all-in-one solution I can think of in terms of combination image quality/zoom range
Amazing video! This camera has many more creative functions than the FDR-AX100 that I use. Did you post process your time lapse videos or is that all done and ready for output straight from the camera?
Hello, I am a new subscriber on your channel, I am passionate about photos and videos, do you think the Sony RX10 IV does the same functions of time-lapse, slow motion, partial color photos, star tests and where can we find the apps of the Sony RX10 III. Thanks for your answer and congratulations for all these beautiful videos.
+KylieSparticus All settings are locked during high speed. You can film while zoomed in but cannot change that while recording. Its not a big issue, you only get 2 sec of HS capture anyway. You don't have any manual control in HS mode either though, no control over aperture or exposure.
+xONEWINGx thanks, thought that might be the case (same as my current bridge). The 2 second limit seems a bit harsh but I guess it's a lot of processing at x40.
the xoom test at the start was very shaky at full zoom, windy? also is the digital zoom 2x for a total 1200mm, and also is full zoom in 4k 600mm or is it cropped to give something longer? thanks.
+Cheery Photographer yet the canon long zoom I have, sx50, has good stabilisation hand held at 1200mm. lets not forget these are not actually 600/1200, the sony is 220mm.
hi I'm considering this camera for mainly videos... can i ask you how is in low light condition, in the video is only 30 sec... and also all the slow motion settings are only for 2 sec or 1080p 120fps is more?
yes slow motion settings are only 2 seconds and very slow process, unlike slowmotion with iphone/android phones.. the quality for slow motion videos are reduced as well
So, you have one. Do you think that with this camera is possible to achieve GH4 quality? I mean, watching to, for instance, Yuri Palma videos (just to mention one of the best GH4 user and indeed he makse documentary, also), I hardly believe you can reach that level with this camera, isn't?
Got bored with my Sony A7ii, bought the Panasonic G7, which the image quality is great, but lacking the zoom without buying a big lens. What do you think about the G7 vs this RX 10 iii?
Jacek, do you think that with this camera is possible to achieve GH4 quality? I mean, watching to, for instance, Yuri Palma videos (just to mention one of the best GH4 user), I hardly believe you can reach that level with this camera, isn't? And if you travel around with Gh3 and a good 18-35, you fulfill most of needs.
Pozdrawiam

Can someone answer my question? If I set the aperture to F4, what MODE do I take photos in? I want to shoot P mode. If I shoot in P mode it will adjust shutter speed and aperture, right? Can I manually turn the aperture ring when I am in the MF mode? Also I saw a video where the Aperture ring said F6 for example but on the screen on top on the camera it said something like F3. Why is that? I want the shutter speed to be set at 1000. I keep reading about ISO but I understand that is about making the photo lighter or darker, the same as Exposure Compensation. I am probably wrong. If ISO is shutter speed, where in the Menu can I adjust the shutter speed to 1000?
I am wanting to purchase the RX10 MKiii and I have studied and studied as I do not want to waste my money. I have read many reviews, watched videos and corresponded with users. I agree with "Eds Channel" a great, if not the best all round demo of the RX10 MKiii.....98% mark from me.....2 things... 1. The stills may be better on a link that people can download from as the video display of the images doesn't do this camera and its lens justice as I have have been invited to download some GREAT images in the past, the quality of the images reproduction on this video is not Jaceks fault. 2. Someone asks about Birds in flight, I would like to see fast action sport images (Football, Rugby, Moto Cross, Car racing, Rallying etc and also stage production, like plays and dance). I can see from the video and had been told that the lens can be slow to focus at longer focal lengths and also the start up time is slow... (Which could both pose a problem). If Jacek has used DSLR's which I am sure he has looking at his footage and composition then a Pro's and Con's list would be good or a written personal review. If any users or readers can enlighten me on the Pro's n Con's or have good images to download, I would be most greatful. Kind Regards Cris
Sony should have made the screen a touch screen then you wouldn't have to fire up your phone as a touch screen to change focus! Also make it fully articulating like any similarly priced camera is.
Touch screen but not fully articulating. And 25fps will be interesting for sports and wildlife enthusiasts but price is high and here in Australia one supplier has estimated at around $2,500. Images and video footage will need to be very good to excellent for that price.
from what I can tell the main difference from this and the 2 is the lens, which is a awesome lens, but does it warrent the extra $400-$500? to some maybe. but based on on my experience with the 2, the 4k was good, but only good nothing mind blowing or write home about. the a6300 has far better 4k, far better coding, far better low light performance has s-log 3 (rx10iii only has s-log 2), larger sensor and its $600 cheaper. theres only 1 areas where this camera beats the a6300 and that's slow motion. but if your new to this lineup don't waste time with anything beyond 240/250 fps because because you loose resolution as you go higher than that 480/500 is equivilant to 720p and 960/1000 is equivalent to 540p and they crop in the higher you go. but 60/120/240 fps are awsome on this camera
fully agree with our fps note!!!! And moreover...because I want to buy one addictional camera beside C300. Do you think that with this camera is possible to achieve GH4 quality? I mean, watching to, for instance, Yuri Palma videos (just to mention one of the best GH4 user), I hardly believe you can reach that level with this camera, isn't?
+I Ragni di Lecco - Arrampicata Alpinism Climbing the only thing with this camera is that the lens is a varient apature and with how big the zoom is you loose quite a bit of light. Not really a fan of the GH4 (color science on skin tone is too salmonee for my liking) but depending on your budget and features you want, I would choose any of the following to be a b camera to the c100: (A7s II, A6300, BMPCC, G7)
Thanks James, I have tested and/or used A7S II, G7 and A6300 and never be even closed to what Yuri Palma has achieved with Gh4 ( it's also true that he is called Genius...so maybe his skill in palette makes the difference...the short trailer Rome in 4K looks stunning to me, and Motion 3...my Godness). I am personally VERY disappointed by C100, while C300 is indeed a good camera ( but too expensive for what it gives)
+I Ragni di Lecco - Arrampicata Alpinism Climbing well if you are in the c100 and FS5 range you should definately look at the Ursa mini 4.6k (don't bother with 4k version). they just released the 4.0 firmware yesterday that has a huge amount of changes to the cameras UI system.
+David Carter If you can't answer that question, then you are not a boss. It's the world's expensive point & shoot for hobbyists and beginners to use, send /or post on the internet.
@@angelisone: It costs as much as it does mainly because of the lens and the huge range of focal lengths it provides. If such a thing existed, could you buy a compact, full-frame, APS-C or M43 24 - 600mm lens and a camera body for less money? Or the same kind of money? You'd be hard-pressed to do so, because nobody is making a 24 - 600mm dedicated zoom lens at any price. The closest I think you could get to such a lens is a Tamron 18-400 zoom lens for about $650USD.
@ExpeditionSailor20, this & another John Dillinger's, Nikon CoolpixP900 (24-2,000) are a joke and have a tiny sensor. You do know if you cut (if you are able to) lens (0:00), you can extend the lenses out more like a Pinocchio beyond 2,000! A much smaller sensor of 4.6mm. Then you will be really disappointed to print bigger than 16X20. But great to send them to share them on phone viewing.

That is the perfect camera for me !
Big thanks for this beautiful video ! ;)
Thanks Jacek. This is super useful/helpful! I had so many questions and you've answered most of them with this video.

Thank you, good stuff. Did you have the M2, if yes, what's your opinion?

very good review for SONY DSC RX-10 M3, maybe the best on RUclips...
i agree! he should work for Sony.
Thank you for the video , I have a few questions if you don't mind ?
very nice video, thanks!
Amazing video! This camera has many more creative functions than the FDR-AX100 that I use. Did you post process your time lapse videos or is that all done and ready for output straight from the camera?
straight from camera, there is more more interesting creative options with apps.
Good job Jacek! Very much comprehensive. Did you separately added sound for the time-lapse part?
+hikarupio yes ,but you can record sound in camera for slomo
What about the macro features, can you get nice pictures with it?

+I Ragni di Lecco - Arrampicata Alpinism Climbing well if you are in the c100 and FS5 range you should definately look at the Ursa mini 4.6k (don't bother with 4k version). they just released the 4.0 firmware yesterday that has a huge amount of changes to the cameras UI system.
I rather spend more on good glass then be stuck with a ok lens like the RX10 series. Lenses are far more important for video work than the camera.
So many John Dillinger's cameras hitting the markets. This series still using an 8.8mm tiny sensor. Any beginners want to pay over $1,600.00 for it?
+angelisone And who wants to pay $16,000.00 for a full-frame DSLR and all the lenses required to cover the same focal range?
@ExpeditionSailor20, this & another John Dillinger's, Nikon CoolpixP900 (24-2,000) are a joke and have a tiny sensor.
Thanks
