had this for many years now, the flexibility is great as i can use it on little Pugs right through to A4s. have even used on a 2 car DMU. i also made a bit of a custom rig using one of these as power for doing loco wheel cleaning

Thank you for that Jenny, just what I needed as I couldn't work out how to use them.

To be honest, the video was produced precisely because we get a lot of calls from customers asking about, in particular, how to change the gauge. A video here was far better than our technicians answering the same question over and over again.

Congrats on your first official DCC-Concepts video Jenny, all you need now is a DCC-Concepts branded cutting mat to use instread of your grey painted plank :)

I use them quite heavily with decent size/weighty diesel locomotives in OO and yes they are good but can be a pain to line up with either Bo-Bo or Co-Co loco's as they easily move or jiggle about whilst trying to position the loco onto them and if you don't line up exactly the first time then yes like I said they can be bit of a challenge to get right and the loco properly seated.
They are a good product and do the job as long as you have the patience and concentration thrown in for good measure, I wouldn't mind if DCC Concepts came up with something where you can put your loco onto a rolling track like that product from Roco but not stupidly expensive like that one.

    Great first video Jen!
Having the spacers seems to make it fairly easy to get the desired gauge set up.

I've been looking for a HO Premium set for five weeks now, none available anywhere, lots of N gauge Premium though including two at my fav retailer, Kingston Locomotive Works (Canada). It's not the gold plating but the case that I want, much better to store the parts than a blister pack.
DCC Concepts will not be producing any more Premium sets according to an email I received.

Just a quick question.. Why would I want these?

    • @dccconceptsyoutube6446

You would use these to run-in and test locos without having them run up and down the track. You can keep your eye on them whilst running in or troubleshooting.
Also - if you have a "shunting plank" or small layout that doesn't have the ability to "run around" then you can't run a loco for more than a few moments in one direction at reasonable speed. This allows you to run for as long as you wish in any direction :)

Its a very good product, but be carefull when changing the guage,do not overtighten the screws, they are tiny and can strip the plastic thread very easily.
