A rolling road is indeed a great gift to get considering how expensive they usually are for say, four of them or more for even a basic set (not sure I am generous enough to give them away no matter how much I like the person.😉)!

I bought the standard 4 rollers HO set, but found them to be quite unstable and especially difficult to line up with diesel loco’ bogies. In fact, I became so frustrated with them that I invested in the Hornby Live Steam rolling road.

Got the O gauge one's recently. Unfortunately I have left my gaugemaster combi controller at my old house. Recently moved, will need to get another one 🤦‍♂️

Personally I don't like these. I have a set and constantly get frustrated trying to use them, locos fall off them, their stability leaves a lot to be desired. Only yesterday I was looking at buying an alternative rolling road. Yes it's nice to be able to re-gauge them, but it's kinda a pain to be constantly doing that. The O Gauge ones look to be a much better design and more stable.

i cannot comment on the 'premium' ones shown here, but i have the 'normal' 00 gauge dcc concepts rolling roads, and ive never had a loco falling off them at all.
is it possible you maybe had a faulty sample?
