when i was studying motorcycle repair service and mot me another student and our tutor built a complete working wiring loom with headlight, dip beam, main beam, pass light, front and rear indicators, horn, fuel injection system, ecu, all the sensors, battery, ignition, all the dash lights, and all auxiliaries, with all the switches and buttons, live battery 12v system, mounted it onto an mdf board and labelled everything like a schematic wiring diagram that you would find in the back of a workshop manual. we where graded A+ towards our diploma for all the work and it only took us 4 days to do. Just an Idea for your next electronic project then you can fix the problems before you put them in the next vehicle you choose
You did an excellent job. I think pointing out mistakes and warning people of time consuming parts of the build is extremely helpful to someone wanting to build one of these. It would be interesting to take you finished truck to one of the r/c meets where all the hobbyist demonstrate their trucks.
I take my hat off to you Gavin. The finished tractor unit looks fantastic. It is so detailed and amazingly accurate. I have driven one of these Mercedes tractor units in the past and they are great trucks. I'm not sure that I have the skill set to attempt to build one these models though. Keep up the excellent content Gavin.
Looks amazing, colour scheme is perfect. You do know the top cab lights come on with the ignition and are always on, sure you don't mind doing another rewire, ha ha. As others have said looks fantastic and you should be very proud of what you have done.😀👌
Wow, turned out great 👍and great color job. I couldn't get that shine on my truck 😓 To all who are new to building trucks - it take tons of time and patience, you put it well - it's first a model and then RC truck 🚚
Those trucks are really involved. The bumper having to come off to tip the cab forward is odd. Cabover trucks in North America usually have clearence to rotate the cab forward to service the motor. Maybe it's a Tamiya thing. Great build Gavin! Actually have never seen anyone build one of Tamiya's trailers.
NICE job Gavin!! If you haven't done it yet, the MFC vertically against the back is best for a nice Interior. A sheet of Plastic behind the Seats look even better. In the real ones, there is a divider for privacy in the Sleeper. 😉 You gave me some paint ideas! I will be building a Truck with the same Cab... my first Merc. I was trying to figure it out. I think you've sorted it for me!
That took a lot of work, and it shows. I don't know if I could put all those hours into something destined to sit on a shelf, but it sure will look pretty doing so.
Nice job great colours i do like my trucks. I find it better putting the wire tag/numbers nearer to mfu , I also find the flysky units better as you can allocate the switches for extra lights etc on one of the later trucks they put the mouse on its side on a plate worth looking into. im in middle hopping up a flat bed trailer for my days of thunder truck with extra side lights keep up the great work 👍
To be honest, that truck looks damn good, love the colours!! I would love to have a go at one of these, just no way I can afford it at the moment. Excellent stuff mate, loved it!!
Nice job 👏 looks good with your mfu I put speaker and mfu all in roof on all my trucks gives you lots of room in the cab but now I use beier units lot smaller
Would be good to see you do a trailer to go with it ,great job ,it’s looks Awesome, I’ve bought a grand hauler and flat bed trailer , but reluctant to start it as I know it will take a lot of time
Number 1like... I'd say that truck looks 1/8 scale was that a lancia Delta wasn't that one of the first cars that you made I like how you did all those electronics and then you wrapped it with that wire insulator it looks really detailed even if you didn't put that much detail into it some of the parts are looking really good my favorite part about it is the cab well I wonder if you're going to put a driver I would say the Mercedes is class my does time fly fast that's what I like about the show you never know where it's going to go let's just go with the flow wiring all that up oh my goodness you must have a lot of patience that's what I like about Gavin and no matter what he does he always feels happy about what he's doing and keeping it going to the next show that's what keeps your fan base really big amazing oh yeah and Petey said hi mini t commercial on the end cuz she's a keeper
Is there a way to set the indicators to a switch on the controller? I’ve never been a fan of indicators going off when you turn the wheel. I think for realism’s sake a separate control on a three position switch would be better.
@@RCKickschannel they do a rc show in essex in the summer they have an indoor track set up for these rigs pretty cool it’s called wings and wheels mainly for planes though
Hi u did a good job the big question would u do anothere 1 m8 the biggest mistake u made was u put mfu in u should gon for better system there few out servanort is the best it dose more now u need a good trailer u should try grandhauler next m8
Nice job and off topic here, if you had a new avante would you build it or keep it in the box since it’s so pretty. Second if you could be either the egress or bruiser which would you get and can only get one? I ask because this is my current situation. (Any idea where to find the avante racing steering kit)?
That's really looking brilliant! I know it's a somewhat dangerous question but anyway, do you have an idea of how much £ you have invested in this one? Just to get an idea because getting the truck is one thing but electronics, bearings, paint, pollish, glue etc all add up to quite a large amount of money I guess...
@@RCKickschannel That's around 250 £ less than buying it build from the factory. I thought the difference would be smaller. Anyway I love to build but I'm not good at painting so need a lot more practice before I start on one of these. Love the red and grey combination on yours BTW.

Thanks for watching the show 👍
Such a mammoth task! Amazing!
Attention to detail is great.very nice build
Thank you very much Clint
Looks fantastic! Not really my thing, but it’s great to watch such content on the channel. I may however, consider one in the future.. 👍🏼
Haha not my thing and than a few months later buying a scale crawler was my story 😅
Wow fantastic job well done Gavin.. lot of work but paid off :)
looks really great. Congratulations on these great Mercedes truck.
Please do more Tamiya Trucks they are brilliant. There are clubs all over the country the hobby is growing..👍
It's such a commitment to build one and the cost is wow! I still need to get a tanker for this truck first.
Looking very nice 👍👌
Nice to see a longer build video :-)

Outstanding build I love it
I love your painting skills
Thanks Jacob. Anyone can do this with a few tins of paint from the local car store.
Fantastic build! Bring on the tank! 👍
Turned out nice. The semi's are very fun to build and get up and running. Can't wait to see what else you do with it.
That truck is neat. But for my taste i will try some old school trucks from 80' like you do ur tamiya buggys. But great built and video. Cheers
Wow, turned out great 👍and great color job. I couldn't get that shine on my truck 😓
To all who are new to building trucks - it take tons of time and patience, you put it well - it's first a model and then RC truck 🚚
you could try Loctite Glue Remover on the front
Fantastic, looks great but is missing something, it needs a trailer. And just for fun a speed run in each of the gears. Great work
I was thinking the same LOL .. needs a trailer 😀
Sounds like a very big project! Great job👍
It was and it still isn't finished! I need to do all the inside driver stuff
@@RCKickschannel Yeah, keep going on this sweet project! Great job👍
The build looks AMAZING BTW!
Thanks Thomas. I good few hours in the truck already. I'm happy with it so far.
Porsche 911 GT2, my favorite one!

Amazing, doing one of these trucks is definitely a big goal of mine in the future. When I feel like I'm up to the task to do it justice. Good video

Yep it’s a bucket load of work but a great challenge and extremely satisfying.
Amazing job Gavin. A lot of hard work and it looks fantastic 😎
Nice work gav, I bet your so tired of seeing the truck after spending so much time with it lol, on to something more easier lol, lovley truck 👌👍😎
Love to see you build a grand hauler
Well keep watching John 👍🏻

I have built 5 trucks now, but you can still make mistakes it is quite common.

Tamiya should do some sort of blue tooth app to control all the lights
The GT professional unit already has Bluetooth. Don’t forget the Tamiya mfu Is now almost a 20 year old design !!
hello, it's very nice. Could you please tell me the paint codes?
This colour was a car paint colour. I’m sorry I don’t remember but it should be in one of the build videos

Yep I'm sure you can do that from a three way switch.
It looks great. So when are you getting the trailer for the back... lol
In a few weeks. Budget is exhausted so I need to sell a few things first.
excellent truck dude, I just got a second hand one of these to restore, can you tell me what colours you used, make and type. please and thank you
It was a car paint colour so I can’t remember. Something like a Nissan bright red
@@RCKickschannel thanks for getting back to me, awesome channel btw, don't suppose you know what the gray colour is ?
keep up the good work
Great work not my cuppa tea personally as can’t see what you can really do with these once built but looks epic :)
It’s more the build and the modelling aspect. You need a smooth bit of tarmac and to transport it you need to build some kind of jig.

Build it for sure. The Egress is completely different to the bruiser so only you can decide what one is best for you. You can’t compare them.
Ha... as by the power of thought this video pops up.🤣
Those trucks are supposed to be a1/14 scale but they look bigger than a1/10
Great truck, but why is your studio light so blue?
I have blue lights in the studio that light up the cars on the back wall.
Only superman driving a real truck, would tip that cab with those handles. Others do it with hydraulic pump 😁
So what are the handles for?
@@RCKickschannel holding onto when cleaning the windscreen.
That rig is big, looks great. Why are you using superglue when Tamiya makes specific glues for doing this stuff Gavin?
Because I can't get it down the road when I run out.
@@RCKickschannel 🤣 I've learnt my lesson and get everything I need before I start builds now
Did you finish the two F1 cars (carbon chassis)? couldn't find the video.
No, still to finish painting up the bodies. Sorry about that.
@@RCKickschannel no worries, painting can be a bit of a hassle. You did a nice job on the Actros. Can't wait to see a RCKicks trailer on it.
Does the MFC function as an esc aswell Gav
Yes it does everything. You connect a receiver to it and a motor. Battery connects directly to the MFC.
