The big issue is that your tires are too big without the right amount of backspacing. Additionally you haven't cut your pinch welds out before putting those on. The Wheel wells on these are not very deep (it is supposed to be a commuter vehicle with off road capability not the other way around). Mine has bigger tires, lift and spacers and I don't have these problems. The biggest thing was getting the right wheels and cutting out the pinch welds. **edit** to clarify, i had all of these issues because I just bolted stuff on and called it good. I know this stuff from having to resolve these exact problems myself
What lift and spacers do you have and did you have to make any modifications? I got a stock 2012 jeep patriot Latitude and wanting to lift it but been hearing a bunch of complaints about all the lift and spacer lifts for the patriot isn't
You got to stay with 225's, it's as simple as that, otherwise you are going to run into issues. 235's will be okay for a short while, but stock size tires unfortunately is the only way to go without running into any issues, short term and long term.
Thumbs up! Thank you for updating!! I have done a lot of modifications to my patriot but I'm waiting on the lift because they are a lot of mixed reviews on all of the lift. I'm deciding on the daystar 1.5 vs RRO 2 vs RC 2. From your review and other reviews, the RC lift sounds super stiff and needs other modified parts to actually make it work more efficent. But, I think going with smaller tires might reduce the rubbing and who knows might help the lift? Keep us updated! I'll try to post a video of all my jeep modifications soon!
Betamonster for sure man! Thanks for staying tuned. And absolutely I might just need to switch the tires out to smaller ones and maybe upgrade my struts. But I’ll keep y’all updated!
A few things here, first wrong wheel offset. The wheels are dished making the tire sit further out. When you turn the wheel it cannot tuck the tire like factory inset wheels can. Second tires are too big for that much offset. I'm running 245/65/17 BFG TAs on factory 17'' aluminum wheels with a 3'' lift up front and a 2" in the rear. I have minimal rubbing at full lock. I also have a CV axle shake under hard acceleration but I figure it comes with the territory of a modified vehicle. I bet if you went down to 235/75/15 you'd see a great improvement. Cheers.
Did you check the struts? With the spring coil around the strut it’s difficult to actually check to make sure the sttrut is in good shape. If it’s only on one side you could swap the struts and see if it changes sides. Otherwise you’d have to get a spring compressor and get the spring off of the strut to see it’s condition. It could be blowing out some of the internal oil and you wouldn’t be able to tell. Unless you take it off and weigh it
Yea it was a little tough checking it. But aside from the internal part of the strut, the external part was also in very bad condition. So just changed the whole thing lol
Did you ever figure out the clunking on bumps? I have the same lift kit and I'm seriously thinking about taking it off! I can't accept that kind of hit/noise.
I have not fixed it but I kinda learned to just live with it, really like the look so due to it just being a salvage title and all that I don’t mind running it like that
I installed the same lift but with smaller tires and I have the exact same banging in the front, I think new struts are in order? I wonder how difficult it will be to find the correct size?
Seth McBride no resolutions just yet, been dayling it as it is, scrapes but don’t care anymore. Still have the bump issue heard that by changing to different lift ready struts should fix the issue.
hey man have you fixed the knocking problem? lol I have a 14 patriot and same RC lift kit I have exact same experience super loud knocking sound when knocking sound when going through all types of bumps especially speed bumps..... now kinda regret doing it
Nah man i just live with the sound now 😂 I regret it but I love the look so screw it. I’m planning on maybe getting some different shocks as well idk yet
@@RallyWrex915 same here the looks r awesome, yeah my mechanic says the only way to reduce it is getting the rough country 2in lifted struts (might work might not😑)

@@RallyWrex915 You're welcome bruh, i had a ZJ i would always take out to all the local and hotspot trails. Now i got a patriot, might do some build on it
I’ve been getting some feedback on the kit from other patriot owners and apparently it does have a lot of noise inside the cabin. Might be the kit. I’ll try to buy lift struts and see if that fixes some of those crazy hits.
Does your lift make noise in the rear and does it keep the alignment well. I’m running the rocky road outfitters lift but debating switching the rear to a rc rear lift. You can respond here or dm me on insta @clifford_jeep_patriot

Thanks for the info man! i will have to cut those pinch welds for sure, again im not sure why they placed them in such way but thank you!
What’s your rim and tire size?
Can I message you I have some questions about the patriot lift and what type of wheels is better
What lift and spacers do you have and did you have to make any modifications? I got a stock 2012 jeep patriot Latitude and wanting to lift it but been hearing a bunch of complaints about all the lift and spacer lifts for the patriot isn't
Buy 3/4 inch wheel spacers for it. They will push your wheels out a little bit away from the struts
I have a 2014 compass with 265 35 22s on it I put the spacers on an it stopped the rubbing
@@jamesnord9806 I was thinking of doing that. How safe is it if I go off roading once in a while?
Just check the torque in the spacers every now and then and use lock right you’ll be fine
Have you looked at the swaybar bushings? Not the endlinks but where mounts to the body

pull off front cover on wheel well sledge down the pinch weld heat the wheel well cover and flaten it out boom done

add some 3/4 inch spacers to your wheels

Would that lift kit fit on a 2wd model?
Ive heard they do work but they are made specifically for the 4wd.
Why the f would you lift a 2wd patriot

The patriot is an alright little Jeep but I can’t fathom anything that isn’t a suspension lift
It’s not a bad rig. I do wish, however that they had a suspension lift
dude you gotta do a pinch weld mod

Jaren Tresise yes it is
Probably the front and /or rear subframes about to collapse from the common rust issues🙄

Smaller tires would fix your problem.
