When grinding on your tractor remember to cover your exposed hydraulic rods so that the grinding sparks dont cause pitting or settle as this will ruin your seals and damage the surface
Nice work. I had one pisser of a time on mine getting the knee handle dog clutch off. Otherwise I found it very well built, albeit with some finish items like burrs around holes and such that were not of the highest standard. Worth restoring and cool to see another guy who has done this. Ty.
Beautiful tractor, beautiful scenery, We lost our home and shop to fire. Settled for a $600,000 home in a housing tract. We want to move. You are living my dream man. Please appreciate what you have. Nice job on the mill. It looks like the backside got a bit banged up
Thanks Dave, easy to setup will some sheet plastic and a fan with a normal HVAC filter that fits the fan to draw out the fumes and trap the particles. I blow down the shop hours before hand and let any remaining dust settle before I start. Don't forget to move the cars away from the garage door just is case!!!
@@BurtonsAttic Nice. I love reusing things too. I like how the door can be closed yet you can effectively move air. While I don't have access to the fans you have, the fans used to dry carpet which sit on the ground would do a similar job and I do know where to get them!
@@wayneparris3439 Yeah those are available everywhere now and should do the job. Those are also good around water I believe so the motor should be sealed which makes it safer than mine but it will move some air!
I just saw your videos. Nice restoration! I don't know if you have received any info or suggestions for the horizontal attachments but I have located 2 sources. eBay has a manual listed for a 21-120. Looking through the pictures, the manual has a parts breakdown. The other possible source is the RUclips channel "polyfractal". The guy bought another machine in 2017 and said that it came with all the horizontal attachments. He may be willing to part with them as he indicated that he is primarily a woodworker and I don't think he would be getting into any horizontal milling. Just some suggestions.
Thanks Jim and thanks for the information. I have purchased a NMTB30 ER40 tool holder and made a drawbar since then. I may do a video on it and the horizontal RPM sensor. I think that I left a comment before on one of his videos but he never replied........
Beautiful shop. Just one thing- red loc-tite is your friend. Especially on the crossfeed nut screws. Mine were loose and fooled showed up when milling. _Dan_
Hey, you should be really weary of welding on your tractor bucket with those cylinder rods exposed like that. One little bb stuck to that rod can and will eat the wiper and gland seal right up. (2:30)
Please remember next time to cover your hydraulic rods on your tractor. The bb’s that come from welding can really mess up the chrome on the piston rods. Just. Thought. Nice rebuild.
I do it at the time, it's great for all kinds of temporary things! Read the comment and reply that Seth Bracken made on Part 5. You'll get a kick out of that!
I just bought one of these exact machines. These videos have been really helpful, thank you. I need to take the "Shaft for table raising crank" #145, out but cannot figure out how to remove #149 "Bearing holder with bearing", it just spins. I've seen how you put it together but I could not find how you took it apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
Hi nice job, did you replace many of the bearings, how bad was the rust on the ways, did you rescrape them or were they ok. The water in the gearbox did not look to have done much damage, a very cheap mill & a lot of hard work. Jeff
Genuinely asking this because you're the 2nd guy I see do this and I'm not metal work expert, but I'm curious. On the gib you used like lead or some solder to fix the hole. Why? Why not use like a welder and build a layer of metal with the welder? Wouldn't it be stronger than anything that can be melted? Also, what is that metal that you used? was that like brazing?
@@BurtonsAttic really inspired by your work on the lathe and milling machine; I have two lathes (both small) that I am planning to restore - one is an Atlas/ Craftsman 109, and the other is a fairly rare Weidenhoff from the early 1900s. No milling machine yet but I am always looking. Thanks for your channel.
I like that welding table ;)

This is my second time watching the entire series. It's perfect! Thank you for filming.
Thanks Joey, glad you enjoyed it!
The split screen is fantastic!
Watching this is very soothing, glad I found your channel from Ca Lem
Thx!
I'm loving the Powell Peralta shirt. I think I had the same one back in '81, along with the rest of the "Bones" lineup.
Skate!
Detail, attention to detail makes all the difference in the world. Really nice project and I'm feeling a bit green with envy... Well done.
I love watching these types of restorations. I wish I had the room and the knowledge to do this.
Thank you very much for your time and effort.

I should add, no mortgage. I got that going for me.
Just finished your rockwell lathe series and now have stumbled upon this gem. Subscribed.
Coming right along, you have such an awesome shop. You will enjoy that mill once you get it up and running
Thanks James!

Very impressive on your restoration on your mil.!.!.!.
I must say,, I like your venting system with the floor drying fans, I need to do that, nice!

I have worked in ARCA and NASCAR.

Thanks Micheal! From a nuclear plant, just a test of course!
