I feel like I just took a really fun geology class. Literally the best and most professional tutorial I have found. A lot of people do the same and talk much, but just make you want to yell at the screen "just cut to the point man"!
So great to hear you enjoyed Sam's course! He is an excellent teacher and really gives in-depth explanations of why things are the way they are! :) Thanks for sharing! ~S
Dude the first 3 minutes got me so pumped I had to stop the video to say thanks. I already looked at the school site and was trying to figure out where I wanted to start and then I see this.
Woah this is an awesome video. I would definitely be interested in a class where Sam goes into this kind of detail about every natural phenomenon (rivers, lakes, clouds, forests, jungles, etc.) He really makes learning about and painting rocks fun, which is something I really appreciate.
I've been in love with the rocks drawn in the Warcraft art, and this is a video I didn't know I needed, a whole new look at rocks! Thank you, Bobby and Sam!
:) Awesomesauce! Can´t wait to start those courses, Schoolism is like a delicious buffet and you want everything on your plate at the same time hahahahaha.
Since when does it cost a dollar to switch courses? As far as I remember I could switch them for free and I won't sign up again if switching courses cost a dollar now.
Hi there, yes! Switching courses was not always free on Schoolism. We're extremely grateful that we've been able to implement free switching! I hope you're enjoying the courses so far! ~ Ashley
@@BobbyChiu Ohh My bad I for some reason thought that this video was new! Haha in that case, all I can say is: keep up the great work! And yes, I really enjoyed my year of subscription. :3

Sam’s course was my favorite. It’s great how he breaks down the science of why things appear, or become the way they are.

As someone who also lives in a wonderfully interesting rocky place (La Paz, Bolivia) I'm so thankful for this video!
I did the two courses of Sam Nielson, and they are top notch, I've learned a lot! Thank you for those tips, so great!
You're welcome Cindy!

Are these brushes available somewhere?
In the video he says they are available on his blog artsammich.blogspot.co.uk/ but I can't find them there, let me know if you have any luck.
I think I found it: artsammich.blogspot.com/2013/03/photoshop-brushes_11.html
thanks man, i tried to download his preset tools, but they didn't add the brushes... i'll keep trying.
did it work for you?
This video rocks! 😏
If there is one thing I learned through art its that there is no such thing as boring subject matter.
What brushes did you use?

Good video btw!
both paintings remind me of the first rayman game for some reason.
Well this is weird. I'm a geology student currently visiting Utah for 6 weeks to learn about rocks!
I want to draw a pet rock and love it.
But I love drawing rocks. They are amazing here in my island.
😍😍😍
Wow how did I get here👍🤣😂🤣😂

I think somebody didnt play with rocks as a kid
I want to eat his mountains .. O_O
