Ukrainian skies are being constantly assaulted by Russian barrages, so traveling by air is not smart (MH17-incident was foreshadowing). So "Iron Diplomacy" is the smart option. Russia wouldn't dare attack by the Polish border when world leaders visit. If they assassinate a NATO head of state, that's a declaration of war with the Alliance. The Kremlin is crazy but even they don't want WW3. (It's still smart to minimize risks while traveling on trains, tho.)

Quarantining whole villages is another level of "safety". Really goes back to the USSR times where the leaders were everything. Like I can't put it into words, but the fact that he's abroad with the level of security as if he's at home is just... strange... Really can't describe this feeling. "Kim's train is coming again" and then the army marches through our village and the power is cut.
What a weirdo you are make believing like this is your reality …
It’s red fascism. A leader cult. Just like with Putin.
"the fact that he's abroad with the level of security as if he's at home is just... strange..." ehmm... do you know how extreme the level of security of the US presidential motorcade including "The Beast" (the president's car) is? It's more high (and hidden) tech than Kim Jong Un's train, but I think in terms of security, it's at least on the same level. The RUclips channel neo has a great video about it, in a very similar style to this one.

I think choosing trains over planes is a boss move for leaders
He is still a dictator
if a train goes of rail nearly everyone onboard wiuld die
an aircraft can just avoid the danger all togathor so no its a very pathetic move and very dumb
North Korea just doesnt have the stuff they require to put kim on an aircraft since everyone hates him
@@liamcollinson5695he's a daddy dictator

Nothing is a boss move for that fat little troll.
the fact that there is this much publicly available detailed information on the train is quite surprising to me
That's because it's not real, if you go through the sources nothing of substance is there.
Yeah a lot of this video is pure speculation and even just imagination. The book written by Pulikovsky does provide a lot of insight, but no one really knows what colour the seats are. Most of the more significant details do actually exist though, like the helicopters and machine guns, if you're wondering.
@@nnillat I call bullshit on the mounted machine guns and sci fi opening doors revealing a machine gun turret. Like think for a second, how does that even work? Wouldn't the gun and elevator mechanism take up the entire carriage's width? Why not just slap it on top? It's North Korea right? They're not as advanced as the US and even the US doesn't have retractable turrets featuring on any vehicles I know of.
This whole video is just based off propaganda plain and simple.
@@nnillat THERE ARE SOURCES LISTED IN THE VIDEO, WE HAVE LITERAL VIDEO AND PHOTOS OF THE TRAIN.

Travellling by train is meant to seem more relateable to the common man but honestly it screams exclusivity so much more when you bring a city on wheels for entourage
Also poorly maintained trains don’t fall out of the sky like airplanes.
ahh yes, the daily news. full of aircraft falling out of the sky@@bornclutch131
@@bornclutch131 That is the reason why they use Train as airplanes have a habit of crashing or blowing up when high value targets are on board and easy to cover up plus zero escape from a plane if something goes wrong on a train has many escapes if something goes bad plus defense that planes don't have unless escorted by fighter jets. And cost train is lot more cheaper then planes built for protection just look how much America pays for there's and they have more then 1 plane just incase 1 brakes down or has problems.
I don't think the north Korean royal family cares at all about seeming relatable

The train and its defenses were super interesting! Never thought about how it represents North Korea's isolation. The potential exchange deal with Russia also opens up a fresh perspective on things.
Russia only wants weapons from NK.
I don't get how a bulletproof train represents "isolation". The US president has a large motorcade in which the main car, called "The Best", has 8 inch thick glass and doors in order to completely isolate the commander in chief from the outside world.

Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, typically travels using a private jet or a special train. These modes of transportation are heavily guarded and equipped with advanced security systems to ensure the leader's safety and secrecy.
When traveling by air, Kim Jong Un uses an aging Soviet-era private jet, the Ilyushin Il-62. This aircraft has been modified to meet the leader's specific needs, including features such as satellite communications, reinforced security measures, and luxurious interiors. The jet is usually accompanied by several other aircraft, including fighter jets, to ensure protection during the journey.
Alternatively, Kim Jong Un often travels by train for longer domestic trips or international visits. The train is known as the "Kim Jong Un Train" and is a heavily fortified and luxurious mode of transportation. It consists of multiple carriages, including living quarters, conference rooms, and even a personal gym. The train is believed to be equipped with advanced communication systems and security measures to ensure the leader's safety during travel.
The exact details of Kim Jong Un's travel plans and routes are kept highly secretive, and the leader's movements are often announced after the fact or not disclosed at all. This secrecy is to prevent any potential threats or attempts to target the leader during his travels.
I know that you already have some videos that tell us stories about persons with an interesting background like the one with the hitman. I think that the story of John McAfee is pretty interesting, just an idea for a video. Keep up the great work ❤
I love how you guys illustrate these topics. Respect!
I love that the train looks nothing like the train on the thumbnail.
Imagine if there was a cooking show or talk show were there is only only person hosting it but there talking with there multiple personalities.
If everything else fails they think that tiny two seat helicopter will be able to get away???
Let's say the train breaks down in the middle of nowhere. No roads, can't drive the mercedes. The tiny helicopter can get you somewhere with transportation to get elsewhere.
Lets say a bomb or a rocket hits the train, it cant move anymore, cars are useless in that area.. so yeah, a helicopter is pretty smart and as safe as anything.
What I’d love to know is what kind of insane up-keep goes into keeping the entire track cleared of ice and snow in one of the most frigid & volatile regions in the world

This is a very interesting video. But I am missing two fundamental points:
1. The train is heavy. What does that mean? How many tons per axles? 22t or more?
2. I think that North Korean rail network is for some rural areas with narrow gauge, but all the rest is standard gauge = 1435mm.
But Russia has 1520mm if I remember right. So how did this train cope with it on this journey? Can it change its gauge?
I read awhile ago that it does stop and change something to accommodate this. Axles I assume.
swapping axles would be a pretty simple process with the correct crane. if set up correctly the train could be lifted onto the axles of a different gauge.

How does „is afraid of flying“ align with „has a helicopter ready to take off in case of emergency“? I suppose, those security guards are also trained to use a tranquilliser gun in case the panda freaks out and gets hysterical.
Weakest link is not the train, but the track it runs on. Hypothetically if someone was to blow-up the rail line just before a very high bridge crossing, say over a ravine or river, the train and occupants would not be to well by the time the train came to rest, I imagine.
