There is a lot underground, but it's not a Putin thing... it's cold war thing. While there was a pause in the 90s, once the gov't got back up on their feet, they didn't exactly abandon many of the projects that were being pursued. Some got repurposed and maybe instead of a secret research facility, we got something else, but none of this is really new. This is standard Russia.
We used to have entire cities that didn't exist where they were doing either R&D or produced something awful (my aunt worked in one of them). I would assume a lot of the things that they don't want seen simply moved underground, so if entire underground military sites turned up, it would not surprise me one bit.

And Hopefully NOT PUBLIC INFORMATION to the point that a RUclipsR can cover such a location and not have to worry about it. So much for Operational Security, it's out the window.
Now we know Putin loves his mountain bunkers.

As a Russian living abroad, I particularly like the outro, emphasizing the far-reaching dichotomy of Russia. Scary eternal president with nukes, but the cronies doing the work often pocket resources for themselves and the result ends up close to bare-minimum requirements.

I prefer Finland's approach. The underground bunker is designed to accommodate the entire city population (not just the 3-4 most powerful men and the military) and you can access it at all times (you can even rent a space to play football lol).

Regardless of any elaborate bunker, unless they wish to live their remaining days in there, then they will need to eventually leave it.
They’ll then realise that nothing of what they previously knew of will still exist.
They’ll then wish they were dead any way.

@@reillydougherty2166 Buddy, Crimea is Ukraine since 1954.
On February 19, 1954, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR issued a decree transferring the Crimean region from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic to the Ukrainian SSR. After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, Crimea remained part of independent Ukraine.
In 1994, the Budapest Memorandum was signed: The Russian Federation, the United States, and the United Kingdom signed this agreement guaranteeing the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea. That is, even Russia recognized that Crimea is Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and illegally annexed Crimea. Russia organized a so-called "referendum" without international control and under military occupation.
All civilized countries and the UN recognize Crimea as Ukrainian, not Russian. Only rogue states and terrorists, such as Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc. have recognized Crimea as Russian.
Learn history. The real one, not the fantasies written in Russian books.
