The little cooking spot is actually an in universe addition made by han solo as a wedding present to Leia to make the falcon a bit more homely. It should be on the other side of the ship with the beds, but it is a legit addition to the ship, not just a joke by the designers

It would've probably been better if in the set it was switched around with the location of the hyperdrive. Looks a little dangerous to have the hyperdrive so close to the beds.
@@JekPorkbricks well like, that the thing, the hyperdrive is actually in its proper place (almost, it would be in its own room) in relationship to the crew quarters and the Millennium falcon layout. I suggest looking up some diagrams and cross sections of the ship to see the true layouts, it's a really good reference

Galxey yeh it takes care of the gaps the ones I mentioned are still pretty accurate lmao, 2011’s the best cause of the minifigures anyway so
It’s the same as the 2015 one just with no gaps and a few extra details

Waited 20 years to buy a Millennium Falcon and I'm happy with my choice! Wish I had $800 for the UCS but this will certainly do.
I like that LEGO was actually able to innovate in this set and give us the definitive non UCS Millenium Falcon.
I really wish the ucs version would have had a full interior.

Great video and a pretty awesome set. I recently received this set for my birthday and it was a ton of fun to build and everything you said is pretty spot on, but I do have one small problem with it. The hatches can't completely close if there is a minifigure sitting in the white kitchen chair or in any of the three tan chairs. It's almost closed, but it's open enough to be easily noticeable. Other than that, I really like it!
I have this and one thing that wasn't mentioned is how fun the build process is. Especially compared to other symmetrical ships in the star wars universe the build for this was more interesting and engaging.
I own the 2015 Falcon and the 2017 UCS Falcon, so I don’t really need any more Millennium Falcon sets, but I feel incredibly tempted to get this because it’s just such a good set

We only got to see him for 1 movie in the sequel trilogy they should not have killed him of the sequel trilogy could of been much better with him at least he’s with me now as a force ghost...

Saw and played with this at my local Lego store (in Maryland). Loved it and will be getting it.
I ended up buying this set from the Lego online store. Should be here next week. Thanks for doing this video really helped me decide on which Millennium Falcon to get as there were some options including some used ones w/o any figures. I can’t wait to complete it. Like you said it’s the most iconic ship ever and my collection can’t go on w/o it. Han Solo is patiently waiting for the other love of his life to be completed.

I always referred to the computer panel area in the lounge as the "technical station." I believe this was established in the original (but flawed) WestEnd Games Falcon blueprints.
I think the cockpit should be one stud more exposed to the outside
Im going to get this one as my first millenium falcon. Ive been into Lego star wars since i was 3, but im still a kid, and that makes me kind of unable to get sets in high degree. THIS ONE IS AWESOME AND I NEED IT

I already know why the dish is round now, not square/rectangle. During the battle of Crait, when the Falcon is flying through the caves being chased by TIE Fighters, one lucky TIE shoots the dish off.

The only thing that is slightly off is the position of the cockpit. The cylindrical hallway to it leans closer to a 45 degree angle rather than what it is at. Still an amazing set!

I was the first to purchase this at midnight on triple force Friday at WDW.Finally got it built, finished on Christmas morning. Im wondering, what is the elevator type thingy right in the middle under the turret gun. Its not really described or identified.

Haha. Bought the TFA-Falcon and rebuilt it to look like in the OT, adding a kitchen and changing a lot of other stuff. It took me hours just getting the cannons right. I'll take a look at the instructions and have a look if Leg had some ideas i would want to integrate. If not for the figures, i don't think i have to buy the new one - maybe just incorporate some of the new stuff into my own Falcon

Ive never owned a falcon set myself, but by looking at this one it just seems a lot smaller than the other non UCS falcons, I don’t know just me. But I guess if it makes the falcon cheaper and more approachable to people can’t argue with that

Hey david, I'm a long time subscriber and it seems like you used to be more candid or impartial in your reviews. I get that Lego sends you these sets for free but that doesn't mean you can't be critical of the design. For the last while everything seems to be all golden rainbows with no negative comments. None of these sets are perfect. Please state the flaws or the improvements that could be made along with your praise like you used to. I still enjoy your videos. Thanks for doing them.

That is an instrument to facilitate taking pieces off each other without damaging your nails/hurting your fingers. Try it.

Just a suggestion: invest in a lavalier mic, as the audio is not on par with the video and your content quality
More questions than answers. Why has the satellite dish changed? Why has this set a more lighter gray pieces: after all, the previous falcon had dark gray to signify the ships age. Is this a clue to a story arc perhaps a rebuilding (that might explain the new sat dish) or course this is just likely to sell more toys.
Inside the falcon looks more sparse and less detailed such as the hyper drive the force awakens one definitely has it beat on that including the greebling.
I wasn't too bothered about how the older falcon opened up both do a good job. I also think this makes them better than the UCS sets having a interior unlike the UCS.
The back engine is brilliant edition as well as the two blasters much better than pervious designs.
If you want a modern solo for this falcon, just snag the micro fighter that can be found at almost any retail store, including Walgreens lol

I feel like this is smaller than all the other Millennium Falcon sets, even smaller than the Millennium Falcon set from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
Finally! They got the panels right!
The original version with the individual triangles looked better
The new style of panels doesn't look like it's really connected with the ship, there is only one hinge piece holding it on making all the other sides not really flow with the design, but on the other hand the individual triangles even with the spaces in between it looked like it connected to the back

Seriously considering this as I have nowhere to display the giant UCS version. I have a basement garage but what’s the point of spending €850 and then having to go down to a garage full of tools and Christmas decorations in boxes to look at it? This fits in a display cabinet and leaves room for other sets. That said I’m tempted to get it and leave it boxed until I do have room to display it.
The lack of space to display my figures is what drove me to this set and the figure-scaled batmobiles. Small enough to display together but still look great for people to see. Happy so far.

The radar dish is a circle because in the caves on crait the Falcons radar dish broke off

I never liked the mandibles, too sharp and narrow! So I've waited for them to come up with the 4x6 wedge plate since I didn't want to mod with sideways brickbuilding. I just recieved my fist lego falcon ever! Of course the UCS will always be the better set, just so expensive! Anyways, opening the box now. Excited!!

I still think the Force Awakens version is better. It has more detail, and it's bigger. The only thing this has going for it is the lack of big gaps.
I think it's funny how he says I can't wait to see what hes like in the film and then in the film he's only seen for about 15 seconds, one normal and one decapitated

review seems a little rushed... I wished you would've mention the fact that LEGO finally moved the cockpit back to where it belongs. If you look at the Force Awakens and Solo versions the cockpit is way to forward. I do like the new panels. No more gaps!

I hope Lego will make a falcon that’s in between this set and the UCS. Like a 4000 piece set for $400.
When I went to target I saw that my million falcon but it was so big it was bigger than my body it was $600 I was so mad I thought it was $100

QUESTION - Can anyone provide me an estimate on how long it took to build this model? I know this will vary widely - just trying to get a general estimate. Thank you!!!!
The kit came in 10 bags, each bag took me 20 minutes to sort neatly (knoll) and about 30 - 40 minutes to assemble. So, 10 sessions, about 10 hours. I could have done it a lot faster, but I took my time and enjoyed and documented it along the way.

This is actually my 3rd Lego build since I was 5 I would say and it's taking me about an hour a bag. Kinda fun to drag it out alittle cause the awkward design makes it very interesting. Got 4 more bags to go.
