@darkonikolic2608 My husband and I actually did re-watch the whole series after I made this post, and it reminded me of how awesome it was yet also how sad it made me. I was always such a big Daenerys fan and wondered why they did her so wrong in the end, but binge watching the series made me realize how absolutely mad she actually was, those damned Targaryens! And poor John, he was just doomed from birth

Well said indeed. If i remember the journey i will one day rewatch GOT and enjoy it, though the last parts less so, but even in those there are good scenes and good actors.

This story is all about tragedy. Wherever and whenever you look in the books and series, people's lives are a tragedy of their own. For me, it's the deep message of the author, more than the question of war. This whole story just tells that everyone suffers and faces tragic events, decisions, actions, of their own or of someone else. A masterpiece which will mark our time and the 2010's, both the series and the books.
Could've shown Jon and Ygritte in the cave.

Ep2 was so wholesome. Bringing together so many characters almost as if to say it's their last night.

Yes. Death is coming
A decade, a decade of GOT. I almost feel similar to how I felt before my dad died, I'm just not ready. This show has made me feel emotions I've never had evoked from watching a show on TV. I've read the books and watched every season 3 times and I'm still not ready to say goodbye, but as you so well put it. This was goodbye.
It is...
It's goodbye
I really hope House of the Dragon will bring back that feeling of early Game of Thrones seasons. I read Fire and Blood and the story is truly magnificent. Honour, death, love and family and every other aspect GOT made impeccable.
Respectfully, Ser, there is no story to Fire and Blood, its just a history. No dialogue, no POV characters, just a second hand recount of the fall of the Targs. If anyone on here thinks that's going to be akin to the first 4 seasons of GOT, then they surely haven't been paying attention....
@@jamien134 Respectfully, although there is no dialogue in the book there will be in the show and there is an possibility to bring back that early GOT feeling because dance with dragons is "game of thrones". If book is no story and just a history then they could just make an 10 episode documentary about the Targaryens. Looks like you haven't been paying attention.
Respectfully, I'm really curious and looking forward to how House of the Dragon will be in the future. But as a Fire and Blood reader, I know there are going to be a few elements missing in the HBO adaptation. The reason being is: the show doesn't start from the very beginning of Fire and Blood.
From the trailers I've watched, HBO starts House of the Dragon's story from the Dance of Dragons (the Targaryen civil war that killed all their dragons).
Well......all in all, whatever the shows gonna be in the future, I'll still watch it regardless of where it starts and give my opinion about it objectively. But that begs the question, though: If HBO is going to make a Game of Thrones sequel about the Targaryen house, why not start House of the Dragon (HOTD) from the very beginning? Why not start it from Aegon the Conqueror himself and his Conquest?
I mean......don't get me wrong.......Dance of Dragons is a pretty good story in itself. Personally, I like it. The story about a family being split into two, they fight each other nonstop for years, etc. It was a hell of a rollercoaster ride for me. I almost cried when Rhaenyra died in the end of the Dance. Really though, never thought I'd get emotional reading about a family feud that involves nations, wars, and dragons.
Back to topic, as a Fire and Blood reader, I feel that there are also many things that make the Targaryen history interesting rather than only the Dance of Dragons.
Aegon's Conquest; Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel's civil war (this is really tragic); King Jaeherys I's rule (my favorite Targaryen king after Aegon I); King Viserys I's rule and the evens prior to Dance of the Dragons.
Those are some events that transpired before Dance of the Dragons that have been written in Fire and Blood. And in my honest opinion, those events may be underrated compared to Dance of Dragons (sans Aegon's Conquest), but all of them have huge impacts in the Targaryen family.
Overall, just like I said, I don't really mind if HBO wants to start HOTD with Dance of Dragons. It's their show, not mine. I'm just a diehard house Targaryen fan with a question and trying to point out that there are many more tragic and impactful events that transpired before the Dance of Dragons. I just hope HOTD won't stray to far from the Fire and Blood book int terms of storyline. And hopefully, in the near distant future, there will be HOTD season 2 or something of the sort, and they adapt the many events before Dance of Dragons.
Seeing this comment after watching the first episode of HoD, I can't say it does!
@@samara.m584 Watch the second episode and then come back here...

@@AlasEtéreas he had to. To fool one's enemies, one needs to fool loved one's first. Also, by not telling her he protected her as well. Should she have known, in case of her being captured, enemies of house Stark could have tortured her to gain knowledge about Jon's true identity. Ned couldn't have had let that happen.

@@serenayale9729 the worst part about it is that cersei never loved him. it's so one sided, im so glad Jamie realized his worth after all the character development he's gone through. He deserves better then her and he's literally found someone better then cersei: Brienne.
freecitizen_explorer684 Cersei only saw him as a extension of herself. But he truly loved her and remained faithful to her. It is sad really
Episode 2 was made to make us love the characters more than ever before. So that when they die (possibly in the next episode) it would absolutely kill us. THANKS DAVID AND DAN!
Music makes it harder
I think it was to have their final moments of happiness before facing death. I mean the Starks didn't see each other since episode 1 so now they are all there
I though the same
The next episode will be so painfull !

the "never wanted to leave" hit home everytime especially with this video
You mean already. Still would mean that it was nostalgic long ago.
I have to admit, i have never been more anxious and hyped about a TV show or Movie in my entire life, than i am for these remaining episodes of GOT

Favorite scene of the episode
@@RhythmGrizz that was such an unnecessary scene! They should have rather focused on scenes that really contributed something to the story! This season has been crushing my expectations from the very first episode! 6 episodes and they have just wasted 2 episodes to show everyone meeting and greeting!
That scene gave me goosebumps
As in common sense, nobody could possibly have disagreements on that this song is a piece of beautiful history.
a im playingg maincrafd It is not.
@@weeddagr8988 I can tell you it is. Since this is the last season of Game of Thrones, it will be popular around the whole world. And yet, when a company releases a new song in one of a last season's episodes it will get attention. Even flashbacks/throwbacks for the ones who have watched the series themselves.
hostory indeed to those who know the Lore

Beautiful history!?
It's a tragic one
That scene of Caitlyn crying on Ned’s departure is incredibly moving.
L
That wasn't Ned. That was Jon. He came to say good-bye to Bran (then still in a coma) before he left for the Night's Watch. Cat was a bitch to him as always. Told him to go. So he left, and she cried. Not for him, thought maybe in part because she felt bad because she thought her inability to be civil to him caused Bran to fall. In fact she confessed that feeling later to Robb's wife, whatever her name was.
@@annabellevy3388 No, it's Ned.

Why don't you try to understand Caitlyn
Regarding Jon
Which woman in the real world would accept their husbands "illegitimate"child plus she never knew the truth about Jon
I'm a guy and I've got more bloody understanding of Caitlyn then woman themselves.
Atleast she never tried to kill Jon or abuse him like cersei and Joffrey did with Robert's bastards.
@@sppotterstark8057 He never deserved, it that's why. It's okay to hate the man who cheated on you, but to hate the kid? That is disgusting. He was innocent. Did nothing wrong. Yet he was forced to feel this hatred of Cat all his childhood. So i hate her. Reasonably.
I finished all 8 seasons yesterday. This series is a heart healer. I enjoyed watching this series for the past two months. I'm missing this now. I'm missing that all seasons ended nd there is no more got to watch. This series made me to forget that I'm lonely.
Catelyn crying before Ned leaving broke my heart💔😢
Yeah people seem to have forgotten her :(
She was an amazing character and had an amazing actress behind it.
She definitely deserved to be resurrected, like in the books. I was so mad when they announced that they wouldn't.
And she was right to cry, she was begging him not to go because the Lannisters were dangerous
Everytime... 😭😭😭

Many people died, but Ned left behind a legacy, and children who loved him. Nobody is truly dead until their name is no longer spoken, and they were still speaking about The Quiet Wolf until the end.

Absolutely this is gold in that shit!!
I refuse to jump on that "can't think for oneself" bandwagon. It had some flaws, but I still liked S8, The ending came directly from Martin's outlines, and matches his ASoIaF books.

@@ana-oq4go probably one of the most emotional episodes yet since we sorta know what's coming
Fun Fact: Rhaegar sung this song at a royal tournament. It is said that this was the moment when Lyanna fell in love with Rhaegar. So basically, Jon was born because of this song. Excellent timing by introducing us to the song just moments before Jon tells Daenerys his origin at the grave of Lyanna!
I think he actually made her cry.
It's also written about Jon and Daenarys' ancestors. Duncan Targaryen "the dragonfly prince" and Jenny of Oldstones, the common born girl he gave up his throne to marry.
Some say he composed the song himself, turns out he was a musician.
@@ashlyns5746 yeah the song is about her..
Yeah, I've heard that too. Didn't he make her cry with that song?
The scene where Arya is shown, she really just stopped being a little girl the moment she saw her father being executed and she spent the rest of her life with the ghosts of people who loved her the most and the ones she loved the most, Ned, Cat, Robb, Lady, Mycah, Jory and everyone who was murdered. And Jon realizing that so many people died, most importantly his mom died giving birth to him, his uncle died being wrongfully accused, all he ever did was protect his nephew and his father was killed by Robert Baratheon because he loved his mother. The song is about every person's loss, they all lost their loved ones because of stupid reasons. 💔
