Jie Chen performs Albeniz From Iberia - No. 1: Evocacion (Book I) & No. 3: Triana (Book II) at the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition (March, 2005, Tel Aviv). Since its inception in 1974, the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition is one of the foremost Piano Competitions in the world. Arthur Rubinstein, who gave his blessing to the competition, headed the jury of the first two competitions (1974 & 1977).
The competition, is held every three years in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Very enjoyable! What a marvellously "listenable" pianist, with full, rounded tone and lyrical expression even in brilliant passages. If there's any small comment to make, it's maybe to say that this very lyricism diminishes very slightly some idea of crisp clarity, but i prefer this way to the oppposite. A fine performance.
