    I watched this video before my first whiteboard interview. The idea of having a framework really helped me. Thank you!

    SUMMARY
    1. Have a framework
    5 Step framework
    ----------------------------
    a. Identify the problem statement
    b. Who are the users
    c. Note down the important steps in the user flow
    d. Mockup some ideas (don't focus on beautiful mockup)
    e. Summary (walk through the whole process)
    2. Speak out loud
    3. Practice
    4. Be Authentic
    Note: Think out loud while doing the whole process

    Thank you Yobi.
    In fact, the whiteboard challenge is the daily basis for UX, after listening to your video I felt less nervous to go next interview.
    it help me be more mentally prepared.

    Thanks for the video Shu!
    Gained more insights of what involves in UX Design. i didnt know that home appliances can be part of UX Design :O
    Looking forward on your next videos! :D

      Glad it was helpful! yeah, the subject of whiteboard challenge really varies. You might be asked to solve a problem for a mobile app, web, home appliances, wearables, or anything. At the end, I think the platform doesn't really matter much as the goal is to understand your thinking process.

    Great movie full of good advices. Much better than other movies here with examples how to manage WBC, when there is not so much understanding of problem what WBC relates to :)

      Glad you enjoyed it! I want to make more videos about WBC, as I hear so many people struggling with it all the time. wonder what would be most helpful. feel free to share if you have any suggestion!

    Thank you for all the helpful advice! Regarding asking about the expectations of the session, I feel like asking if they expect you to end up with a UI is assuming that the solution is an app or website which might look like you’re jumping to conclusions. However,
    I’m struggling with a finding a different way to ask for expectations... would “are there any expectations for this design session?” be too general?

    • @yobi321
      @yobi321  3 года назад

      Great question! I would try to keep it an open question, i.e. "Could you help me understand what's the expected outcome of this session?" also, I think to clarify at the beginning what platform you are designing for is actually a critical step. it shows your understanding of how to approach a problem and consideration of potential technical constraints.

    Great Video, just a comment I would make. You keep switching between User Flow and User Journey and it gets confusing. to me they are 2 different things. User Journey or Customer journey will be the step by step type of diagram where the User flow involved more complex flows. However good tips overall. thanks for sharing.

    I have a whiteboard challenge this week and I'm freaking out. I don't feel like I can come up solutions quickly. HELP ME!

    • @yobi321
      @yobi321  3 года назад +7

      Don’t focus on solutions. Focus on the process, working with the interviewer like your teammate, ask many questions, think out loud. The goal of whiteboard challenge is not to test how good the solution you can land on, but how you approach problems, and how you communicate with others. You’ll be fine. Good luck!
