When I was 19 I had a chance to buy a 69 Vette 427 4-speed. The local Chevy dealer had one on the used car lot and just wanted it gone. My insurance agent told me I was insane and would never be able to get insurance. How unreasonable. Your featured Vette is spectacularly nice!! I have never seen one with multiple carbs.

But what an attractive appearance this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Convertible has in that striking, and rare, "Corvette Bronze" color! For me, the third generation of this legend is one of the most attractive, with very beautiful and well-kept lines. From the beautiful additional air ducts on the hood, to those gill-style side vents, and ending with those bulging and elegant rear hips; Everything about this shark-like design is impossible to ignore! A fairly sporty interior, with an instrument panel and layout similar to that of an airplane. For its time, the power developed by that 427 CI L89 V8 engine with an aluminum head is surprising; apart from how it roared! Finally, and as a hallmark of that time, its unforgettable double retractable headlights (which, by the way, remained in a good wink until they finally decided to open them haha). How good it is, that this classic shark brings back pleasant memories of Mr. Verrillo's youth! Great vehicle, and video, Lou!

Beautiful Corvette Lou, never seen one that color before. My Uncle had a black 69 427 4 speed he bought off a coworker in maybe about 1981. He had for a couple of years. He had just switched over to working night shifts from the day shift at his job, he fell asleep driving home early one morning and rear-ended a Coca-Cola tractor trailer and totalled the car out.

The guy mentioned about taking his C7 out going through the years the rumble and it brought back memories. I had a beautiful 60 impala convertible and a guy stop by and a brand new 67 Corvette with side pipes and three carburetor 435 horse. And when he got out of the car, he headed straight for my convertible and started asking questions about it and I felt so honored I said you know you pulled in here and your Corvette and my jaw hit the floor and I was just digging the sound of the look and then you complement my car. I said I’m just totally stunned, so then I walked him over towards his car and we got to talking about it and he asked me if I’d like to drive it you could’ve knocked me over with a feather. I said sure I was working at a Chevrolet dealer but I was only 16 at the time And how your friend described the idol and everything that left a impression on my mind and the first thing the guy said to me when I got in it was go ahead and drive it like you want he said it’s under full warranty so if anything happens, they gotta fix it so I took him in his word and I power shifted to three gears and he just smiled and said yeah there you go. He said that’s way to do it. He said every now and then when I do it it gets a little hung up memorable memorable. I’ll never forget it.

That is so so BEAUTIFUL 🥰❤️👍 you know when I see these beautiful old classics it serves as a reminder at just how great the Detroit muscle car industry was back in the old days. Sometimes I need like a wake-up call to remind me. Compared to today's cars which look like junk, bulky bloated and overweight full of electronics that not the average person can wrench on. The old classics were way way ahead of their time. Congratulations Joe, you are indeed a lucky guy to own such a beauty ❤️🥰👍💪 and Lou Constable you host a wonderful channel 👍

Such a nice car! I had a older cousin who bought a new 427 Tri-Power in 1967. As a 10 yr old i still remember him flooring it when we we’re already going 100 mph. That was unreal. Only a few months old it was stolen in Detroit. Never found car. In 1978 a local Mazda dealer had a mint one. I drove it but clutch was slipping. I offered 8900.00 they said 9000.00 like a dummy said nope. I was not a fan of the factory yellow paint. They had a MINT 1967 Cougar GT 390. I drove it home instead. Still have paperwork on that one.

Read up on the 68s. When new, they garnered so many quality control and design complaints, that a record number of changes were required for the 69 model. Anyone old enough to remember these cars in the showroom or dealer lot, knows that this bronze 68, as beautiful as it is, is over-restored paint-wise. The original St Louis paintjob would have been Maaco or Earl Scheib on a bad day.
