I remember having a cornet lesson at Monk Fryston Primary school. Graham took my cornet off me as I was insisting it didn’t work and proceeded to play the most amazing solo on it for the whole school to hear.
I’d never heard anything like it, what an inspiration!
I left that lesson and tried to convince my friends it was me that had played the solo.
    They didn’t believe me.

Still is. He started teaching me trumpet from around 1966/7 and I was hugely privileged (though I didn't realise it until a little later). He used to play this stuff to me in a little primary school in rural Yorkshire. Imagine!

This is the first time I've ever heard Mr Walker playing this piece and I would have to agree with you 100% Geoffrey. It's not just the technique but the sound through his full range . He plays a bottom C as ' meaty ' as Jim Shep does !
