using x4... very satisfied with the device and would like to put up reasons that show the value for money for this device - 1) People hardly are aware that the voice commands on X series of motorola can be used even when the phone is in sleep mode. Which means you can unlock your device and message on whats ap, set alarm, play music, check notifications without having any need to pick up the device and it works really well in absense of noise. Specially at night when you have to search for your phone in the dark. So google assistant is improving with time and its all time listening makes it more capable with x4. 2) Stock camera has lag so preferably one should install google hdr+, which makes it one solid premium mid ranger with amazing capabilities. Lens blur in that makes use of single camera rather than 2 and works way better than 2 camera gimmick. And when you want to use wide angle that can be used with stock camera app which is also a plus point. 3) IPS screen that you'll easily misjudge as AMOLED. High saturation levels. blacks are really deep and definitely screen difference is visible. 4) IP 68, superb build quality, handy 5.2 inch screen size, USB C, can attach 4 bluetooth speakers all together, Fast charge support, presence of all the sensors, manual mode in camera. cons - unlike previous x phones you can not name the device for voice activation. (you can only say ok google rather than keyphrase of your choice), the width of phone is 74 mm which makes it feel almost as big as a 5.5 inch phone while 70mm width could have made it an awesome device for many people who are looking for a compact device today.
None at all... Except for one small issue about which ppl wont even be aware... If someone else tries to unlock your phone with his voice it gets locked and next time when u try to unlock with ur voice it recognizes but asks for fingerprint approval. This lasts until u restart your phone... Otherwise no issues with software at all.
Moto x4 is only device which giving protrait mode and wide angle option I'm using this device from the first day of launch and I really like the premium build quality and battery backup , Moto feature and stock camera features.

Let's see technically the chipset does support fast charging but Qualcomm charges a extra fee to enable that let see if that happens. I am person who doesn't believe that much in rumours.

There are many tests showing the same (the A5 2017 has even survived a boiling water test). However there is a minor difference in the display protection used. Gorilla Glass version 3 on Moto X4, while it is version 4 on the A5 2017. As far as getting it is concerned, it depends on whether you want Android P. Both will receive an update to Oreo, but because the A5 2017 has already received an update to Nougat, it will not get any further updates. The Moto X4, *_might_* get it though.

I have used both the 6x as well as Redmi note 4. I have to say that the note 4's performance, gaming performance, updates, day to day usage & battery life is better than 6x. But when it comes to camera (both front and rear) the 6x does a far better job. Also in terms of ram management 6x is better. And you don't get the fast charging on both the phones but 6x charges faster than the note 4. Built quality is not so good on both the phones , so you have to purchase a back cover. Overall I would say that HONOR 6X is better note 4

Ya it's not so good in battery life and gaming performance (it's not bad don't get me wrong). But now a days people like me demand for camera as well as good performance. I think the 6x is the best under 12k (64gb variant) when it comes to camera performance. People buy oppo and vivo for camera and they don't get good phone performance. In the Honor 6x you are getting both the things in such a small price range

I have Moto G5 Plus. It has been 7 months. The performance of the device gone drastically bad. The camera has significant lag. Sometimes it takes 5 to 6 sec to take pic. This is very embarrassing when your friends will be waiting for picture by holding their pouts for a longer time. The 3.1 mm audio jack gets corrupted soon , so it affects the software. Because of this the phone goes silent automatically. Even the WhatsApp and other video /audio calling apps does not work. It needs every time restart to work. And one more important thing is the battery life is horrible these days. I observed after 6 months the phone is giving average battery life of 8 hours to 10 hours a day. Believe me my phone is most of the time in office connected to wifi. Even in my home there is WiFi. And coming to the camera , though the camera is good at sharpness and other aspects of pictures, but this definitely don't give exact color reproduction. This don't catch some specific colors like red, orange, brown, yellow. As you already mentioned this doesn't get fast Android updates, even important security updates.

The Lenovo P2 is another great device in this price segment(the price has decreased now too). Apart from its massive 5100mAh battery which easily lasts 2 days, it also has an AMOLED screen, fast charging, great speakers, good camera and almost stock Android. Also, the build quality and earpiece clarity are really great. It does not feel too big either, doesn't feel like a phone with such a big battery. Performance is pretty good with the SD625. The only downside is that you are stuck with Nougat, and you will have to root it to get Oreo. Also, the storage is 32GB, but there is a hybrid SIM slot with microSD support. I think this is better than the Redmi Note 4, since it has better battery, display and fast charging compared to RN4. Even the RN4 won't be getting Oreo anytime soon, so why not buy the P2?

to be honest, portrait mode is not that a necessary thing in a smartphone. This camera takes really great photos in natural lighting and pretty decent pics under artificial lighting

I have Moto G5 Plus. It has been 7 months. The performance of the device gone drastically bad. The camera has significant lag. Sometimes it takes 5 to 6 sec to take pic. This is very embarrassing when your friends will be waiting for picture by holding their pouts for a longer time. The 3.1 mm audio jack gets corrupted soon , so it affects the software. Because of this the phone goes silent automatically. Even the WhatsApp and other video /audio calling apps does not work. It needs every time restart to work. And one more important thing is the battery life is horrible these days. I observed after 6 months the phone is giving average battery life of 8 hours to 10 hours a day. Believe me my phone is most of the time in office connected to wifi. Even in my home there is WiFi. And coming to the camera , though the camera is good at sharpness and other aspects of pictures, but this definitely don't give exact color reproduction. This don't catch some specific colors like red, orange, brown, yellow. As you already mentioned this doesn't get fast Android updates, even important security updates.

The Lenovo P2 is another great device in this price segment(the price has decreased now too). Apart from its massive 5100mAh battery which easily lasts 2 days, it also has an AMOLED screen, fast charging, great speakers, good camera and almost stock Android. Also, the build quality and earpiece clarity are really great. It does not feel too big either, doesn't feel like a phone with such a big battery. Performance is pretty good with the SD625. The only downside is that you are stuck with Nougat, and you will have to root it to get Oreo. Also, the storage is 32GB, but there is a hybrid SIM slot with microSD support.
I think this is better than the Redmi Note 4, since it has better battery, display and fast charging compared to RN4. Even the RN4 won't be getting Oreo anytime soon, so why not buy the P2?

to be honest, portrait mode is not that a necessary thing in a smartphone. This camera takes really great photos in natural lighting and pretty decent pics under artificial lighting
