Tysm Meredith. I’m 12 and I’m so interested in asl. My parents aren’t fully aboard though so you’re a great teacher! I’m looking forward to the day I step into a deaf environment and attempt to sign with others. It may be hard, but I know I can do it ❤
Learning sign is so interesting and it’s so useful in everyday life to those who are hard of hearing. It makes they’re day when they can have a real conversation with you. Even knowing your trying, it makes them so happy! ☺️
Thank you!!! I so enjoy your videos... I am relearning sign as I have a deaf coworker. He has been helping all of us learn as he is able. But I wish we could meet as a group and review your videos!!! Amazing!!! Thank you again!!
Just found your channel, in trying to learn SL so I can speak to my nephew who is deaf. I took a semester in college years ago, I love they way you teach thank you. 💖
Do you like how I speak, you I? This is why I don't repeat the "you" or "I" at the end of the sentence if it was already said. Either take it out from the middle of the sentence and leave it for the end, or use it in the middle and not the end. Just once is enough. Speaking as a deaf person from experience in the deaf community. This is the extreme formal way of signing it I guess. Otherwise, the signs are great and spot on. Good job.
The Good Doctor is the only show I watch! Go Shaun! I'm wondering if the show has ever had a deaf or hard of hearing (HH) patient who used hospital staff to interpret. LHTS has a video about medical signs, so I hope you view it. I don't know how to put the link for the video here.
Hello Meredith, I don't think I've ever seen the signs for JUST HAPPENED, A COUPLE DAYS AGO, nor A FEW DAYS AGO before. I like learning signs here, and your thorough explanations are helpful! You signed PAST STORE I GO, but does STORE I FINISH GO mean the same thing?
How come you don’t say the me or I at the start of these sentences? Like; “me name JC me” or other examples of confirming. How do you differentiate between when to say me twice or just once? Great vids thank you
Would love to see a video on how signs get modified for disabilities (permanent or temporary). E.g. how to manage two-handed signs with just one hand, or how to handle the larger signs when you've got a hurt shoulder/neck and need to keep your movements small, or how to compensate for the facial expressions if you have an issue with facial movements (e.g. a stroke, botox, Neurodivegent issues even relating to your face in the first place...). Maybe also how to handle sign shapes when you simply don't have the motor skill for the hand shapes / highly specific motions. (In one of my fics I've got a character who's been turned into a doll, and he's got felt mitten hands. He signs in Signed English, not ASL, but it's heavily modified to account for his lack of articulation.)
Your channel has been such a blessing! I'm learning and also helping a few kiddos learn as well. We are having great fun and learning so much! You make it easy to succeed with practice! (-; Just now, I was actually able to use the new words you taught and make my own sentences along with your video, which was very encouraging!
I love you explained this so well. I get lost on a couple things. Better and forget I keep seeing being done on the forehead. They look exactly the same other than better using 4 fingers across the forehead going slightly up? And better using 4 fingers across forehead got straight across?
Thank you so much for these videos! I have an app thats teaching me asl but you give all the other aspects of it besides the vocab thanks so much! :D:D:D
A interesting topic.....👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.... always something new to learn and practice right sign using our body, that most like is how translate the sentences to English at ASL.... thanks for give us great lesson ASL
@Learn How to Sign When I was at school at Sign Language Center, my ASL teacher signed “Later” with the “L” shape against the palm of her non-dominant hand 🖐🏻 and now I am quite confused, is it necessary to use your non-dominant hand 🖐🏻 for this sign as well? 🤷🏾♀️🤔
I didn't know how else to ask but I have a question. When you're signing a song do you sign it the way the song is played or do you change it to asl terms? Sentence wise?
I am very new to this, and have a question. Why does the word "I" get signed twice in the sentence "Every morning 5:45 I wake up I" ? Is it to do with the gramatical ordering?
While rewatching this video so I can practice signing along with Meredith, I just discovered I've been signing "month" wrong. Darn! I've had the back of my non-domenant hand facing outward instead of inward. Signs that use both hands are sometimes confusing.
There are mistakes in this video. You should never rotate the wrist THAT much on signing "two days ago" or "three days ago." Also, your example of "I will go to store" is plain wrong. I would not recommend this video for new signers.
Thank you! Im 12 and learning ASL, i love it!! Its so cool to learn and your a wonderful teacher.
Thank you!

@@gardeniagirl1374 yes there is an episode where a boy can’t talk, so he uses sign. He can hear though
Your channel is PRICELESS!!! 💎 😭🙌🏾🙏🏾

You are welcome! And yes, by add the FINISH to GO is shows completion.
Thank you again!!!!!!!! Love your videos because I learn more (or reenforce what I learned). You rock!
How come you don’t say the me or I at the start of these sentences? Like; “me name JC me” or other examples of confirming. How do you differentiate between when to say me twice or just once? Great vids thank you
I guess depending on formalities
Love all your videos! Thank you so much for sharing and all your hard work. I'm learning a lot and it makes me very happy.

Not too long, and very informative. Thank you!

Lots of great info in this video! Thanks so much!
Hello Meredith, I just read the LHTS newsletter and about your desire to title it "Back to the Future." Some of us were alive when the movie debuted 😉
LOL!
I am glad I found your channel . I have been falling so far behind! Blessings!
Welcome to LHTS!
Had my first dream (that I remember, anyway) with ASL in it last night! 😊
This is exactly the video I needed!!
Thank you so much for these videos! I have an app thats teaching me asl but you give all the other aspects of it besides the vocab thanks so much! :D:D:D
Thank you I love your videos!
You are so welcome!
This was perfect!
Thank you for making learning ASL so easy and fun! You’re a great teacher!
Very good ❤❤

Absolutely!!
Thanks so much for explaining these signs. I haven't seen all of them yet.
You are so welcome!

You just translate it as you would into any other language.
THANK YOU I’m doing an asl interpretation for a song for school so I needed found but I couldn’t find it lol
I am very new to this, and have a question.

i never knew this,but amazing! it’s my birthday too.haha.

How would you differentiate a.m & p.m when signing?
❤
Was , were ASL sign language??
🙏❤❤❤🕊🌟
"We know this video was a long one"
Meanwhile I'm sad it's already over 😭
Save teaching SL for people who are actually Deaf!
