Great job. Just what I’ve been looking for. Easy and inexpensive. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tutorial. I think I'm going to tackle this myself
You can do it it’s not that hard thanks for watching
Nice job guys , thanks for the info. I'm just wondering 🤔 why they didn't stain before screen.
That would’ve been the smart thing to do. For some reason the customer didn’t want to do that too much of a hurry just to get it done
I'm not sure why people buy that expensive Screen Tight system when this is so easy and inexpensive. My beach house gets screens blown out with every hurricane and I fix it like you do. My frame is painted white so the lattice is white PVC and I use painted stainless nails I found on Amazon. I also use stainless steel staples. It takes about an hour to fix a couple of places after a storm. I never paid attention to staple orientation but your way makes complete sense. I'll be more careful next time to watch the position.
Thank you for the comment my brother and I agree with everything you said
How wide of staples do a person use? Will 1/4 in staple work? Your video was great. Be looking of your comment.
Normal staples that you would buy for just about any normal staple gun actually besides maybe a paper staple gun but if you go to Lowe’s and you buy a Stanley staplegun you’re going to buy some Stanley tea something staples
great tutorial. thank you
You are very welcome I’m glad you like my videos I hope you are a subscriber
You used a Porter Cable battery powered nailer gun to install the Lattice Strips. Was it a Brad Nail Gun or Finish Nailer and what size and kind of nails were used. Thanks.
We use the Brad Naylor
If you had a wrinkle you didn't notice or realized a section wasn't tight later on, is there a technique to tightening it without taking staples and furring strips off?
That’s definitely a help
I'm just wondering why the screen is on the wrong side of the posts????
And I'm really wondering why nobody has commented on this before?
I live in south GA and I've always seen the screen and the trim on the outside of the porch and not the inside.
I mean where are you going to put your beer and cocktails if you can't put them on the top part of your railing????
When I did that repair on that porch I thought the exact same thing but you got a remember here everything is on stilts and it’s a pie so a lot of people do it on the inside here because it’s easier to replace. I agree where are they going to put their beer 🍺. If it was my porch it would be on the outside. Here at the beach because of the house is all being on stilts a lot of people put them on the inside just because they’re so hard to reach on the second story
I've been scrolling the comments looking to see if anyone else noticed that too. You're the only one besides me who noticed. That's just a lazy ass way to screen a porch.
What are the dimensions of the wood strips that you used to hide the staples? Is there a name for them? Can't seem to locate them anywhere. Thanks.
They are called lattice strips. You can buy them at Home Depot or Lowe’s
@@ScrappingwithGrandpa Thank you :)
You’re very welcome lattes is easily found at Lowe’s
I don’t know how often you do screen porches but get your self a $99 Milwaukee M12 stapler and thank me later. Good video though!
I’ll thank you now because I’m gonna go look for it tomorrow thank you
What type of screen door would you recommend?
Standard mobile home
Is there a better screen out there that is worth using or just use the normal?
+Nicholas B Black fiberglass screen is about the best
I just screened in someone's pergola with the solar blocking screen from home depot. (They had 29 year old stuff on before) it was a huge difference, less light coming in but WAY cooler
Awesome that’s what we’re looking for less light and cooler
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair that screen from Lowes or Home Depot?
I bought that screen at Lowe’s. I like the darkening screen or the night screen. The regular screen will keep out mosquitoes but there’s a better screen that keeps our gnats and it’s darker way more weaves in it
My Lowes does not sell those strips at any length.
Really that’s crazy
