Can we just appreciate how on point these lyrics are? I love when they talk about the erected sun with the ion gun. It makes no sense and yet it works perfectly at the same time.
The lyrics when there's no one on screen talking can just be whatever they want. What's impressive is when the lyrics still work while matching the mouths of characters who weren't saying anything like that.

Strange how this BLR reminds that Vader was such a simple and two-dimensional villain in the first movie, just a cultist heavy under Cushing's character with a grudge against the hero's mentor, but was still effective. Puts the lie to the whole "villains have to be complex/sympathetic/melodramatic to work" thing.

@@Odincdaj522004 All of Tarkin's lines are really well done. As you pointed out, this particular song is less random than some of the others. It makes sense in context with itself. I wonder how long it takes to create one of these videos? It's quite complicated, I'm sure.
Musically, I like "Bushes of Love" better. "Seagulls! (Stop It Now)" is funnier, but right now, I can't stop listening to this one. Perhaps it's because it was underappreciated and didn't get around to really listening until fairly recently.

The fact that Tarkin was wearing fuzzy slippers in all the shots where his feet weren't seen brings me so much joy and makes this video even that much funnier.
FunFact: in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, both Harrison Ford and Sean Connery refused to wear pants while filming their scenes at location in Spain.

The start of this song as a light, nonsense lyric, snap happy tune belies the darkened hook that captures the real terror of the death star more then most of the movies ever did. Coupled with the few good shots from Rogue one, it at times sends chills down one's spine.
The hook is beyond catchy to the point it actually is pushing Bushes of Love and Seaguls, if not out of my head, then at least to the backseat. Which is a VERY hard thing to do as I've woken up and had one of those two songs running in my head.
I never liked that line, it doesn't make sense, it's poor English and it doesn't scan.
Better would have been "before it gets better it’s gonna get worse".

These are pretty good lyrics, really. Most of these songs contain lyrics that are either brilliant or so random they can be interpreted as profound. I have my own meaning for the lyrics of "Bushes of Love." If the human race has a future, Bad Lip Reading will be studied like Nostradamus is today: just random enough to read all kinds of predictions into the words.

I was 49 when the song was released and there was something waiting in the bushes for me. I lost my parrot, who had been my best friend for over thirty years. I got another parrot, hand-raised her myself, and she was lost outside due to an accident. Then my mother got cancer. And that's where we are now. That was my chicken-duck-woman thing. 49 times...yeah, it was 49 times and it was right there waiting for me.

Okay, here's a kind of funny story. I heard the song a couple months ago and I really liked it (obviously). Part that I remembered most was " bleep boop bloam, goodbye to your home." Then, I had a Star Wars marathon, as one does. Then, when I got to A New Hope, I was waiting for the part where they pressed three buttons in a row so that I could say "bleep bloop bloam, goodbye to your home." But it wasn't there. I figured it must be in Return of the Jedi. So then I was watching Return of the Jedi, and I was looking for when they press three buttons in a row so I could say "Bleep bloop bloam, goodbye to your home. " but it wasn't there. So then, I figured that that bit must be edited or something. Then, about a week later, I decided to watch Rogue one first the first time since it came out in theaters. Then, I saw the moment! They pressed three buttons in a row and I said "Bleep bloop bloam, goodbye to your home." It was very satisfying.

2:09 the death star has always been a chilling concept, but this is the first time i've ever realized not only what it is but what it represents. for a comedic parody channel, this sure enhances the material
right? i've never even seen star wars, or walking dead, but these parodies w their jarring juxtaposition of tones get across like.. the Mood. the heart of the thing, somehow, and it's deeply touching
There were survivors. People who were off-world when Alderaan were blown up. Including those serving in the Imperial Navy. And one of those blew up most of the survivors because Vader tricked him into doing so during a test of loyalty (killing the survivors was the punishment for disloyalty).
Ngl, I kind of agree. Like, the idea of the Death Star as an “erected sun” is neat. Because it drives home the idea that this is almost a force of nature, and it was built to uphold and evil wizards regime, so ultimately before anything gets better it’s gonna get worse.

If this song wasn't so silly and about star wars, i think this could stand on its own as a legit radio song if it had for real lyrics. The actual setup of the song is amazingly well done, and its catchy as all hell. NOT that this wont be successful as just a parody, but i'm just saying.
