@@ydoomenaud this iteration of Luke is like Ethan Hunt, in that he’s so confident that his plan is gonna work, he straight up tells the bad guy what’s about to befall him.
It’s been almost 3 years and I just now realized HOTH is an acronym for Hostiles on the Hill. Even though the words fade away to just the first letters at 0:49.
That really is a brilliant sequence, and i can explain exactly WHY it's so brilliant: First, the comedic timing. Wedge (the character "avoiding death") responds to Luke's question before Luke even finishes saying it. Luke is literally still on the "ng" sound when Wedge starts to answer. Why is this brilliant comedy? Because they're literally in a giant battle, and Luke's question "hey guys, what you doing?" is prima facie ridiculous. They're trying not to get killed. What ELSE would they be doing in a battle? The camera cut to Wedge's absolutely deadpan, totally serious facial expression just underlines how asinine the question was. And then the Luke character has to ask him to repeat what he just said, which again enhances the joke by showing Luke is so completely detached from reality that he either didn't hear or didn't understand the reply, or understand that his question was stupid in the first place. It also works as an in-joke reference. The Wedge Antilles character is the ONLY character in Star Wars that is present at (and survives) all three major "air" battles: he is at the Battle of Yavin against the first Death Star, he is at the Battle of Hoth (and is one of only two characters to actually destroy an AT-AT, and the only character to do so from an airspeeder), and he is the pilot of one of only two ships that survive entering the second Death Star- and fires what appears to be the fatal shot at the DS2 power core. No other characters, to include the main characters of the original trilogy, survive every major air/space battle of the original trilogy: Luke, Han, and Chewbacca are present at the First Death Star, but Han and Chewie don't participate in the battle at Hoth, and at Endor are part of the ground battle, so they don't participate in the attack on the second Death Star. Luke is at the first Death Star and Hoth, but like Han, volunteers for the ground battle at Endor and is captured/ surrenders to the Empire, and like Luke, doesn't take part in the attack on the second Death Star. But the Wedge Antilles character is a minor character in the movies; he barely has any lines at all. He's best known for... well, for surviving all three movies. So, what's his main role in the films? Literally "avoiding death". That's Wedge's thing, avoiding death.
That other guy had the most ambition. He wanted to see a tree. He wanted to make it all the way to the end of the next movie. Just imagine an alternate timeline where he survives, and we see him throughout the rest of Empire and all of Return.

@BattleAngelFan the fuck? luke is radiating self-confidence, those lines emphasize that you've gotta be who you are and not follow expectations that are not your own, which is the basis of healthy confidence. just cause it's simple & obvious doesn't mean it doesn't touch something important.

This song is so dang sweet. I'm gonna be singing "you are like cinnamon" around the house for weeks now. First it was "seagulls, stop it now", then "my, stick is better than bacon", now this.
Same order for me too
Look it's a bad guy.
Don't worry about it Darrius
Cause I'm a mile high and I'm the scariest
Mike Jones I chose not to like this so it can stay at 66likes
Execute order 66
Don't worry about it Darius, 'cause i am Malphite and i am the scaryest.😂😂 oh man i should stop playing so much League of Legends.😂😂
I read this comment exactly when he said that😂😂
BARS
someone else said this at some point but, legend has it, Darius is still worried about it
"I'm a mile high" So I guess you could say he has the high ground?
Luke: You underestimate my power.
Literally, he's on an AT-AT

Bravo friend!
I just want to let everyone know that this is my top song for 2021 on Spotify
it's an honor 🙏

As much as Disney isn't, bro.

Sad someone has to point it out. The damn text for hostiles on the hill fade until only the first letters of each word are shown. 3:03
yeah but I only figured it out on my 2nd watch, so I thought I'd point it out
I've only seen flow like this once before...It didn't scare me enough then; it does now.
Jamieson Cannata same.... I didn’t think it was possible, I might have to set up the cameras again!
You cannot handle the FLOW, son!
😂
For some reason, Luke's whimper of fear makes me crack up every time.
"yes but... *ZOMBIE*!"

Song is now up on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and Amazon! Thanks for the response everyone
Bad Lip Reading Added to my playlist! Thank you so much!
Bad Lip Reading use guys are the dogs balls lmao good video
That's why you are like cinnamon ;D
Thank you following you guys on Spotify.
Luke's spitting straight facts.
"It's not about what they want, you just gotta walk your walk."
"It's not about what you wear, it's all about were you are."
Lol the lyrics can get kinda deep if you listen hard enough
Wow.... Jeez, your right!!!!😳😳❤
@BattleAngelFan obviously, someone didn't pick up on my subtle sarcasm and over thought my comment completely.
@BattleAngelFan the fuck? luke is radiating self-confidence, those lines emphasize that you've gotta be who you are and not follow expectations that are not your own, which is the basis of healthy confidence. just cause it's simple & obvious doesn't mean it doesn't touch something important.
@BattleAngelFan "It's not about what they want, you've just gotta walk your walk" refers to being true to yourself despite social pressure, come on, it's _right there,_ how did you not pick that up?
Especially at 3 in the morning.
That song is radio worthy
Nick Umoh, honestly better than the songs played on the radios.
So's "Seagulls, (Stop it Now!)"
you bet it is!
But, you need to see the video for the full experience
This song still gives me chills after 4 years
It's so good
It amazes me how you fabricate such awesome beats and lyrics that make sense and correlate to what's actually going on like I love every one of your songs dammit
Yeah! Also they cut it to look so natural! That takes skill.
This video is like cinnamon.
I see what you did there
These songs are good examples that even if the lyrics don’t make any sense, as long as the music is fire people will like them
But some of it does make sense 🤣
@@gaurishkelapure5032 yeah, I feel like most Bad Lip Reading makes a sort of chaotic sense. There's some filler in there, but if you connect everything and take a step back it actually has a surprising amount of meaning and logic.
I just wish I could show all these to my friends, but I'm not sure this stuff is the style they like
@@skeptic_lemon I feel that. I just wish I could share Bad Lip Reading with someone who shares a fraction of my admiration and awe for it, but anyone I've ever shared it with has seemed mostly indifferent.
@@skeptic_lemon Everyone told me not to stroll on that beach…..
I've seen this video like 100 times and I still can't not laugh every single time Wedge says "You are like cinnamon!"
Same. That line kills me!!
I think it's the expression he makes. He just seems so sincere about it. Like it's so important to him that Luke knows how sweet he is.
Love how Dak was actually killed trying to pump up some sweet bass
He died doing what he loved.
He wasn't set.
He almost managed to give it more base
Then it turns out that the hostiles are seagulls
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover in history!
unicorngirl92: *hold my beer*
Ha!
Cue the Benny Hill theme as we see Yoda running away from them. He trips and these kids start laughing.

@@biggochungboi9346 Meanwhile Luke was big in Japan, he was king of Ping Pong, yet he was bad at tuba.

James Underhill Underhill ikr like that is like the tenth time!
James Underhill Underhill yeah but he became a zombie, so there’s that
This is so talented. Not only is the music, rapping, lyrics good but it is also crafted to fit with the dubbing from the movie, I'm so impressed with this.l

I come back for that, and that alone.
Thats my name lol.
Fun fact, when the words "hostiles on the hill" fade away, the letters that take the longest to fade are H-O-T-H. This scene takes place on the planet Hoth.
That's genius
Great Scott!
Who would have thought a group called "Bad Lip Reading" would become a major internet musical Force?
I'm pretty sure it's mostly just one guy actually.
I'd love to see some behind the scenes of these, to understand what it takes to make up other words they could be saying.
That would be so dang sweet if they did!
They would just bad lip read over some actual behind the scene footage of the battle of hoth lol
"Kinda bright out, think I'll put your lights out" How come no one is commenting how's that line is pure GENIUS?
Because "pretty soon you'll _LITERALLY_ be trippin'" is an even better line. 2:26

I am ready to buy your CD. You guys are really actually musically talented, aside from being hysterical. It's weird to want to laugh and dance at the exact same time. But these are so good. My favorite is "That's Not A Moon" and this as a close second.
I'm with you on the first, it's a toss up between whether I like this or Bushes of Love second best. The fact that Moon has Cushing just sells it for me.
