I think the major gripe people have with Cowboy Carter is that it's a country album. Majority of her fanbase are not country fans. So from the jump, it was an uphill battle for Beyonce. Legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson welcomed Beyonce with open arms, and people were still mad.
