There is a tv series on the story of finding and remodeling the motel. Deep thought went into the design to make sure it was truly a memorable and comfortable experience. Absolute luxury (they went as far to that as the property allowed) in a kitschy themed motel. Trixie seems to turn everything she touches into gold. She and David did a wonderful job packing as much detail in without overdoing it. The color of pink on the pillows on the pool patio weren't right, so they redid them in a different pink. Meticulous detail. Exactly what I would expect from Trixie Mattel and David. I highly recommend the series on the making of the motel. Lots of goofy guests and the designers she features are immensely talented. And w ho doesn't adore Trixie Mattel? Are there any Trixie records available to play on the record players? A most enjoyable bluegrass/folksy singer/musician/songwriter. For a kid who grew up in poverty our Trixie has done very well for herself. She's worked her butt off and made herself one of our very special "Ru Girls", those we cherish for their heart, talent and humor. 💖 This was a lovely look at a very special place. Thank you for it.

I do have an expectation that if he's reviewing a theme motel called the "Trixie Motel," that he'd do a cursory Google search instead of seeing pink and assuming the theme is Barbie. It's sloppy and lazy. I'd have the same issue if he reviewed a Pinky and the Brain-themed hotel and said it was a Mickey Mouse hotel. Further, giving grace doesn't mean never ever pointing it out when people do their jobs poorly. There are certainly bigger issues in the world, and most of the review I thought he did well, but this error was both big and rude, so I have a right to mention it. Doesn't mean I'll never watch him again or am calling for him to be canceled, etc. People critique my work all the time, it's a part of life.

LOVE Trixie Mattel ! We watched the series of her refurbing the motel and it was a hoot. I'm sure if she had it to do over again, she would've beefed up the sound proofing between rooms. Double sheetrock on each side works wonders. I also would put actual knobs on the room doors. It looked a little awkward having to grab a nub of metal to pull the door closed. Other than that, the place looks FABULOUS!

Omg can’t believe you stayed here!!! Iconic!! 😍😍💖💖💖💖
WE weren't expecting this crossover 🤣🤣🤣
My gf and I stayed at the end of Sept in the cowboy room and loved it way more than the Atomic room last year. Having the back patio to eat our complimentary breakfast the two mornings we were there was heavenly. The staff are all SO nice. Planning on continuing to head back every fall.
How pristine was this place!!! So much attention to detail, I was super impressed! Very aesthetically pleasing too! So unfortunate that you were poorly while you were there 😢
I love Trixie and Katya! So excited to watch this episode!
Omg. I just pictured a Katya hotel. Complimentary teeth.
Very cute place. I would probably like to stay there myself, but only at 1/3 the price. Way too expensive for thin walls. 🎉😊
I watched the show of them building this and it's on my list of places to stay when I visit CA again. I'm glad it still looks as amazing as it did when they finished the renovations! Great video!
Whenever "Motel" is mentioned I think back to the TV series "Crossroads".
😂😂😂
I think of the Bates Motel.
Literally never heard of Trixie Motel. Very pink!
@martindavies1024 Trixie did a mini series of the renovation of the hotel. I think it was 6 episodes with guest stars stopping by.
It's a boutique motel in Palm Springs - totally makes sense that you'd be paying a premium, but WOW! Gotta be the most chic small hotel I've ever seen.
That’s the nicest place you have stayed since you arrived.
The episode I've been waiting for!
Хорошенький отельчик. Модернизировали ретро. Много деталей! Люстра с перьями прекрасна!вы автоматически стали Кеном
Ha! That is so great, I NEVER thought I would see you go someplace like this, LOVE IT! And I’m so jealous!
Trixie has made a beautiful space I’m ultra impressed with her! And they’re running it beautifully!
I'm surprised by how quiet and empty it all looks. I assumed there'd be a buzzing party atmosphere but it looks so low-key that it's almost bleak. And that price is ridiculously high considering the facilities and what's offered to the guests. Aesthetically gorgeous though
Love, love, love this. I love Palm Springs. I would never be able to stay there because I'm asthmatic and even if I asked them not to have this in the room, the smell would definitely be in and on everything. Thank you for sharing.
Palm Springs is beautiful 🎀💕 looking forward to this one Tim 😊, much 💖 from Auckland New Zealand 🇳🇿
PS flamingo 🦩 are my favourite + I collect anything with them too, helps pink is my absolute fav colour too 🎀 I want to stay there so bad. 😊
Very interesting hotel. Yes, i would be interested in staying at the hotel. Thank you for sharing your stay at this hotel. I didn't know this existed.
this is the crossover of a lifetime
Isn’t it? When I was watching him in Pontins, I didn’t imagine him in Trixie’s motel 😂
That room was very Golden Girls and i loved it
I noticed the smoke from the fires in the background. What a fun place to stay!
I watched Trixie renovate this hotel and I'm so excited to see you there. I have been waiting all week!❤
This was a REALLY good look at it, too. All the nooks and crannies we didn't see in the renovation series. Add the impressions of a seasoned motel/hotel visitor and we get a wonderful look at a very intriguing place a lot of us out here in RUclipsland would really love to be able to experience ourselves.
This room is so cute. I think it looks better than the Marilyn room you stayed in..
READ that shabby Maryln room hunty 🤭🤭🤭
oh maan if this hotel was remodeled earlier she wouldve loved this suite ALOT
Never in a million years would I have guessed I'd see Walk With Me Tim at the Trixie Motel! It's like world's colliding!
Thanks!
Thank you
Brilliant video Tim! I hope you are feeling better now ❤️ We really appreciate your fantastic work my friend
The colour scheme reminds more of Miami Vice than Barbie, though.
@@zeideerskine3462 Yeah, it's not Barbie themed, it's Trixie themed. And although Barbie is of course the most central influence in her persona, it's definitely not the only one. It's very weird that he's reviewing a theme hotel and doesn't even know what the theme is.
@@jessicadavis1709 He only got to catch up on the series right after his stay. Let's give him some grace, after all, it's plainly obvious he's not a Trixie hardcore fan :D
@@kakussubrado8966 I have no expectation that he'd be any kind of Trixie fan.
Wow, how incredibly rude of the neighbours to ask you to put a pillow over your face?! Maybe that's an acceptable thing to do in America? Hope you can rest up and feel better soon Tim! Thanks for another great video
americans think its rude to show up to a shared space sick
I wasn’t expecting this crossover, but I love it! Only thing as a North American (Canadian) that I kept internally saying to you was to shut the doors. Air conditioning is crazy expensive and I am that annoying wife who is always telling my fella to hurry up and shut the door so we aren’t “cooling the outdoors”. Lol
Excellent that Tim. 😊 Great vlog, as ever. Hope you’re feeling better now too. Xx
Your room looks amazing, attention to detail is spot on and the pool lit up pink at night was beautiful. Did think it was too expensive and "I was shocked" that someone complained about your coughing 😮
My husband watched the renovation of that place. So cool that it stayed the same. Was really awesome to watch it put together.
great vlog tim and hope your feeling better soon
Tim not understanding the legend that is Trixie or even knowing. No intro into why this motel is iconic. A bit of research would have been good to introduce Trixie to his audience.
??????
Yes, who is Trixie?
@@annetteminett8500Trixie Mattel, very famous drag queen having appeared many times on RuPauls drag race including winning a season. The TV series they did on the motel when they were creating it is also fun to watch. It’s worth checking out!
@@annetteminett8500 Trixie Mattel is a famous drag queen. If you've ever heard of RuPaul's Drag Race, she's probably the most well-known and successful contestant from that show. Known for comedy and country music. This whole motel is themed around queer culture- for instance, Pink Flamingos is a famous John Waters film starring legendary drag queen Divine, hence the name and theme of this room.
Not all of us are into drag queens.
8:48 looks like a Wes Anderson shot
Loved watching them remodel it and excited to see this!
I'm not a pink loving person` but I agree with you Tim, That Pastel Pink really goes well in the room. Not sure about the green bath though lol
So those were originally apartments when hey were built 🤩very nice 👍 well done 😉 that pizza 🍕 is “Wow” looks so good 🤩
I remember you were starting that cold after the terrible BA flight. BA strikes again!
How cool! Very retro! Looks like roadside motels I remember from my childhood!
I'm a very pink person and absolutely love this hotel's attention to detail. 😊
I actually might get pinked out by it but the attention to minute details everywhere you look is exquisite! I watched the series. They worked so hard to curate the little touches and it's really paid off. This isn't a bed for the night. It is an experience in and of itself. And pure Trixie. One of RuPaul's Drag Race fans very favorite "Ru Girls". Everything she touches is a success. 💖
As an irish woman that lives in Nevada, i recommend you buy some saline spray for your nose the air on the west coast is dry and the desert has lots of dust when you first come back from being in uk i always get an asthma flare up, sorry those people were so intolerant, the motel looked nice
I think that's too rude of them to ask you cover your face with a pillow for you not to cough loudly 😕 Nice stay in there tho. Perfect for pink girlies for sure!
Just love watching your videos truck driver from Pensacola Florida
Awesome thank you!
That's the most adorable retro motel! I watched some of the series about it and always thought it looked so cute! The staff seem super friendly too! ❤
Traveling with Tim while I prepare for a Florida hurricane! What a way to start my day 😂
A crossover episode of two of my favorite youtubers omg. I'm in heaven! Loved this!
I dig that pool area. It looks like something from the 50s! 👍
Nice themed hotel, pristine (has all hotels showed be) but very expensive in my opinion!
$300 max.
It was cute and clean but almost $700 is crazy money for that in my opinion. Thanks for the walk - I like your reviews Tim.
@@davidkost418 i expected it to be like 300 dollars max, like that breakfast was NOTHING
What an awesome hotel. I love it. Pink is my favorite color. Of course getting my hubby to stay would be interesting, but I love it.
Stool in dressing area closet is to put your suitcase on.
Omg. This is the crossover episode I didn’t know I needed 💓 Trixie and 🖤 Tim
The Trixie Motel is adorable!
The green tub is fabulous!
That's the coolest hotel. I love the colors and retro styles. I think I saw something years ago about that and the Property Brothers helping design it. I'd stay there over the fancy hotels. Fun place!
Great video! Feel better!
See what you mean about a Tesco floor. You can always tell a Tesco Sainsburys or Boots just by the floor!
and its exactly the same 100%
