What's the best mainline bait for winter including size? Im on a lake where not much is coming out its only about 3acre with 20+ carp in not know what sizes.
Hi Brandon, we have lots of baits that do well through winter; Cell and Essential Cell have a great record, and Hi-Visual pop-up again bank a lot of fish.
I love these new and high grade how to vids great concept and done to high standards come to expect from Mainline please do more I need the knowledge as Johnny 5 would say "More Input yes yes Input" lol really happy with these vids now I'll know how to get the best out your baits. Thanks

Never really used tiger nuts so found this video really interesting . Will definitely add some to my armoury . Excellent video as usual .. thank you mainline baits 👍🏻👍🏻
Essential Cell is a variation of the original Cell with the addition of a fruit like blend of attractors - both are freezer baits and very good food source boilies for use throughout the whole year.
Thanks for sharing these tips mate. Have you found difference between standard and black tiger nuts in terms of ability of the black once to catch predominantly bigger carps?
its more a case of utilising the colours to have different options and potentially see what could work better; a black Tiger Nut on a bright gravel bottom, a white Tiger Nut on a dark silty lakebed for example standing out or using black Tigers when you don't want the hookbait to standout like when there's lots of diving birds.
Intimate venues often mean being very stealthy is the way to start; rod tips back from the edge if poss, slack lines when snags or weed are not an issue, and generally being as quite as possible. Try and pick a few spots that are visible to trickle in a little bait and note any visits or reaction of the carp. Small venues often produce a few favourite features of the carp, snags or overhanging trees in particular, and small traps (say a solid PVA bag) in this areas can really work well. With any venue large or small where you plan to spend some time or campaign, I'd always recommend choosing a food source boilie like Cell, Hybrid or The Link etc. and introduce it on a regular basis, coaching the carp to feed on it with confidence so when your chance of a bite does come around there is no hesitation or caution shown by the fish. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi when cork is used in hookbaits its obviously not eaten, but carp and other fish do eaten and pass all kinds of things by mistake, and theres no evidence to say hookbaits incorporating inadvertently cause any harm.
If they are used raw, as in not cooked and prepared properly fish can find them hard to digest and so there is a potential risk. So some fisheries rather you didn't use them to safeguard against anyone not using them correctly.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV thanks for the reply. I was supposed to fish France last june but due to corona virus got postponed tilp this june. I want to start getting my stuff together so im ready and hope this time we get to go
Jason Van Der Merwe Hi, I’d be more than happy to take The Link right through winter especially if I’d been using it on the same lake through spring, summer etc. The baits are easily digested and accepted by the fish, the only thing I’d do is reduce the amount of feed as the appetite of the carp also reduces.
I don't think the Carp in the states know they're supposed to like Tiger nuts. The catfish gobble them up but I've never gotten a bite from a carp when I'm fishing with tiger nuts.
If not prepared properly particles can be harmful and if over used as in if lots of particle are left uneaten on the lake bed then water quality in some lakes can be effected, so in some cases fishery owners find it simpler to not allow their use.
Hi Dave, its because the hookbait is almost neutral buoyancy so lifts very easily - so the putty just adds a little weight to help pull or keep the eye of the hook down, which in turn helps in turn/flip for the point to also point downward and catch hold. It'll also help keep the hooklink tight to the lakebed.

already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. Why are you putting putty on the hook length when you are tying balanced bait rigs ?
Hi Dave, its because the hookbait is almost neutral buoyancy so lifts very easily - so the putty just adds a little weight to help pull or keep the eye of the hook down, which in turn helps in turn/flip for the point to also point downward and catch hold. It'll also help keep the hooklink tight to the lakebed.

Let’s be honest would you have any of these if you didn’t work for mainline? Its your job . One massive advert
I like to leave the supple section 7 to 10 cm cause I feel like it's getting me better hook holds and I loose fewer fish
