I don't get how Emmet always gets hits and even single note lines from the soloists such as at 1:23 . Its just mind blowing and he does it in almost every solo he is comping!
That's indeed pretty sick. But obviously in this case bar 80 is reinforcing the idea that came in bar 78. If you know the changes you can kinda anticipate bar 80 from bar 78 and the pickup from bar 79, as it is the natural contour of the phrase.
Love how you can always hear the melody there, reminds me of Miles
yeah he quotes the melody a lot
bar 80 is killing
Expert comping by Emmett fosho
Very nice solo. This bass player though is absolutely killing it too
Agreed! Reuben Rogers always holds it down.

Comping involves listening and responding to the soloist. Not really all that uncommon.

@@apeschell not uncommon, no. but still super amazing!
@@Whatever-ew4ti exactly. He's listening and hears Pelt's rhythmic repetition so he tries it out and it syncs up.
The response to 1:09 is great as well
Excellent solo. No wasted notes and copped the vibe he was going for which was Miles.
Whose dad is that on the couch, somebody get that man a glass of something 😂😂😂
0:02 "pls fix"
Awesome. Thanks for posting this. Would you be able to send me the Bb version?
Bar 80, whaaaaaat? 🤯
Swingin!!
Nice. Can hear some Miles and Adderly inspo in this!!! Do you know what the quote at 1:22 is?
