I think it's a testament to the fact that Melee's skill ceiling is so high that you only ever have a small handful of people who can truly compete at the highest level. If there were a tier list for Melee player's there would probably be around 3 players in S tier and all the other good, top 8/16 players would be in A tier.

Truly the Dynamic Duo if there was one in 2020.
mango has really really polished his gameplay, i havent watched melee content since 2017 but he just played better than i’ve ever seen. the lasers are insane his shield pressure is disgusting he’s playing to suffocate the opponents and i love it
seeing the winners finals set really shows how much the matchup has evolved, zain topping everyone because he’s not afraid to use every tool marth has, he’s really turned the game into RPS, every approach leads into insane techchase combos that i havent seen other marth replicate
Falco just works so hard to kill marth and any lead he gets marth can just dismantle with one good combo Edit: obviously this isn’t always true and the match isn’t always this bad but when it’s zain with his power shields and his consistency it seems way worse

I want to see PPMD come back to form and deal with Zain’s marth I think he will actually do much better with his patience , precision lasers and stage control I think there’s a lot to learn from him if he would compete
JaylaSuburbs to be fair, I am also a pretty bad player, and I think people underrate how good zain is at dealing with laser. It’s not just the power shields, it’s knowing when to accept the hit or cc. Marth also has no OOS that’s comparable to falco
It does seem so punishing when i's falco vs Zain. Like the commentators were saying, it might be more likely if there were better ways to edge guard Zain. Mango was trying but struggling. I think Falco wins the neutral on Marth, and I think Mango's obviously the blueprint of how to open Marth up with his constant mixup approaches, it just seems that everytime Mango gets Zain off stage there is a 1/4 chance of him killing Zain, where every time Zain has Mango off stage it's 1/2 or something. I hope Mango keeps pushing the MU, because he can obviously do it, it will just take more work to do it consistently.

I gotta say it is a pretty cool timeline when you are disappointed about Mango only getting 2nd to a Marth like there hasn't ever been one. Zain is so scary good with a sword and still you never feel like he is in control against the Mang. It always feels like it's in Mango's power to pull through. Those two are just special and I love every one of their sets and even though I stan for Mango and Falco, I'm never sad if Zain pulls off a win. Disappointed the bird got slain, yes, but grateful for the best Melee we've ever witnessed. In the for me most iconic matchup the game has produced. Thank you both- And keep on trucking, Mang. You got this. Don't let that up-jump cutthroat usurp the throne without a fight! :)
Zain is on such a different level in tournament. Mango was playing like a God (sick) but Zain made it look easy. I believe in Mango he's a born underdog.
Honestly, Wizzy broke the armor. After that you were off your game. In fact, Wizzy legit almost had a chance to put you in Losers before Zain did. This whole tournament was amazing. As Toph said, Thank God for Melee!
You can tell Mango has to play different when he's against Zain. He's the only person Mango can't keep running at. He'll take defensive options that he doesn't do too often against other people like the wavedash out of shield or just straight up letting Zain back on stage at times because it's too risky.
A cool era of melee, never seen an era where the best player is clearly better than the 2nd best player, who is also a full tier better than the rest of the world
