eternal mango fan here, but i think the idea of winning a tournament “without losing a set” is such a silly way to frame it (outside of summit pools type situations). like, you either win a tournament by only losing one set or losing none. winning without losing a set is just kind of obvious imo

They’re casters. Their job is to commentate in an interesting way. They had already mentioned as the match began that mango was the favorite. If all they did was just commentate on their beliefs being confirmed, it would be super boring. They would just be saying what’s going on in our mind or what we already expected to happen. Instead, because they’re good at their jobs, they produced compelling stories that we wouldn’t likely imagine based on the circumstances but were plausible. That’s why casters will often throw out the possibility of a comeback regardless of the current matchup etc. it keeps the viewers interest and establishes a compelling story that if occurs, has suspense and some passion behind it. It’s basic stuff brotha. All casters in all esports do this
@@godhand416 saying essentially “maybe, maybe not” seems redundant at first, but in this context there’s more to it. Saying that in this case makes some sense because it reminds the viewers that anyone can still take control of the match. It likely keeps the viewers interested in reminding them that it’s not necessarily over, so don’t give up on the match’s entertainment value yet. It’s just a common saying or line of thinking casters will use to maintain interest in viewership. It’s smart

Mango is DEFINITELY the GOAT. Beat the past generation, was the face of his generation and now is on par with the new one. The meta has changed a lot. When people say melee peaked, there are ALWAYS players like Armada and Leffen that brought fresh air to the scene. Nowadays , we have Zain and IBDW, Plup , Weezy , S2J. It would not be fair not to include Hungrybox. The reason I think melee is still relevant is because Mango and Hungrybox still compete. Don't get me wrong, there are GREAT players now, BUT is all because they have these 2 figures they aspire to beat. Like I said before. The great players we watch today, they all faced Mango and HBox, or M2K at some point, I can't say at their PEAK, because, as we can see here, Mango still in his prime. And melee is fun because of it :)
