We have rally taken for granted how amazing slippi is. I know it has been gushed about a ton but every few months I have to remind myself how insane it is. Just 3 years ago to play melee online you had to launch dolphin, get your lobby code, set the ping/lag thing, exchange the code, only to play shitty lag based netplay. There was a whole process. The start of this video its "wanna play melee" "sure" and it probably took them 30 seconds to get into a match. (well it was probably more because streaming but you get the point). Then if you wanted to play against strangers... you had to deal with anthers ladder and figure out who was hosting, do a lag test, etc... I go back and play P+ every now and then with a friend on netplay and I do not miss it for melee. However... I do miss melee music and transforming stadium.
You might know this already but they're working on rollback for P Plus and while they don't have rollback done yet they have Slippi esque matchmaking. It's called Brawlback iirc
@@zman84soad Yeah there is a patreon for it and I want to support it but something just feels off about it to me. I am sure I am just being weird but something in the back of my mind said wait.
@@gaysfortrump2024 The idea is that with someone who's trained, you know what to expect. With someone who has little training, you can't predict what they'll do - at least, at first. As you saw in the games against Ludwig's Fox, Mango kept covering the smart and optimal options, only for Ludwig to randomly throw stuff out and catch Mango off guard. But as the games progressed, Mango started to learn Lud's patterns.
@KukkiwonWT there is some merit to it, though, especially with literal swords. See, swords are incredibly lethal, and it's very easy to strike your opponent in such a way that they die, but you are also wide open and die at around the same time. Obviously, doing this is a terrible decision, because you die, so the experienced people would never do this. A significant portion of sword training is simply learning how to make attacks that aren't necessarily more effective, and are indeed often less effective at killing your opponent, but that are safer to perform. But the novice doesn't now how to do this, so they'll do things that are literally suicidally stupid, and die for it. But these idiotic attacks are also significantly harder to defend against, even for a master, and they're likely to inflict some serious injury to their opponent, or possibly even kill them. It isn't really so much that the novice will win the fight, it's that they're much more likely to draw fights, which is a bad outcome with lethal weapons.
Lud's laser spam strat is actually smart because he knows he's gonna lose at least 3 stocks, so he should spend them racking up damage as safe as possible

not blaming him bc I also play like a complete dumbass against better players but lud literally never went for grabs in advantage and mang just shielded every follow up

The man you should fear is not the man who has trained with his sword for 20 years but the man who has never held a sword in his life.

@KukkiwonWT It was just a saying made to prove a specific point, not meant to be taken seriously. Obviously the man who trains for 20 years would win.
