- Brooklyn-based synth pop band St. Lucia brought their high-energy live show to KCRW. They played a handful of new songs from their forthcoming sophomore album.

dmoder3 it's that high end on the tone giving it that snap i think. seems like once there's a certain amount of treble present, we perceive it as drive (kind of like the old Top-End boosters on the AC30's from back in the day making them sound distorted when it was really just treble and high end)

The mix for most of this performance makes me want to cry. Her synth is way too loud, and her vocals are waaaay too low. Someone clearly noticed and started making some changes near the end, but damn... the damage was already done.
Phenomenal performance, though. Love St Lucia.
Could just be your headphones or speakers. I'm wearing a decent pair of flat response cans and I think it sounds pretty darn good.
Nah man, listen at 3:52. You can barely hear her sing. Then around 4:04 they start to turn her up, and by 4:11 she's at the volume she should have been all along.
It’s not that big of a deal. The pbass rattle is FIRE though.

@@paulwright717 nah the synth is too loud at the end, so they have to turn the vox up, which drowns out all the percussion/other elements.
