I was very happy with Austria’s win but I really wanted Hungary to win. Everything about this performance was incredible and it would have been Hungary’s first win which they definitely deserve.
We will never win this competition, because who wins, has to organise the next one and Hungary doesn't have the financial background for that. Sadly.....
Márton Manó Muhari if your country can’t host it, then another country can do it for them. Hungary is one of my favorite countries in ESC and I want them to come back so badly
Those who are saying that Eurovision is not for such kind of songs, that Europe doesn’t want to think about problems like home violence, genocides, etc., people want just happy songs about peace and love, have to realize that it’s not true. Entries like this, along with Jamala and others, prove that Europe is a mature audience with an ability to understand the message behind the song, to feel it and live the song. A huge respect to Hungary! 👍
'only?' i think his vocals are not always on point, but it's still a very good entry, the message is very great :) ( and my respect for running and singing after it)
I barely paid attention to Hungary throughout the years because of their usually low results But going back and listening to their songs - damn, Hungary's one of the best countries in the contest! Can't wait to see what they'll bring us in 2019, always unexpected and high quality entries! Waiting for an Hungarian win ♥
I love this song. It makes me emotional because I can relate to it from my own childhood experiences, but now I've moved country and I am starting to make a better life for myself so things really can get better. It's such an important message and I'm glad Hungary wasn't afraid to sing about it.
A very good entry from Hungary. The story that’s told in this song makes ones eyes full of tears. Such tuff, strong lyrics! It hit’s my soul. A great entry!
As a Dutchman, for me this was the best song of 2014. Beautiful song. A very deep, dark and important message. I still don't understand why our Common Linnets finished 2nd and Hungary's song finished 5th. Our song is dull, by comparison. The staging lifted it to another level. Apart from that it wasn't something new. Perhaps you could say that Hungary's song wasn't something new either. But, for Eurovision it was something new. With a deep message, excellently performed. Absolutely should've finished higher.
András is half American half Hungarian, both languages are mother tongues to him. My sister went to Copenhagen with the team, she did backing vocals for this production. This is one of my fave Hungary entries besides Freddie and Joci Pápai. András has such a kind personality he's a really nice guy.
waiting for that react!!!! love love hungary in 2014... so perfect with so much messages... glad to hear these kind of songs in eurovision.. glad to see it in top 5
"One of my favourite esc countries." What an honour, thanks we love you too! :D And glad you liked the song, I was especially curious about your opinion on this one.
I felt every word in my soul. How do we defend ourselves from the person or people in our lives who should most protect us, but are who the most hurt us ?! Placing a child in the world is the greatest of responsibilities, but also the greatest of blessings! We parents have an obligation to prepare our children for the world, for life, which alone is already so difficult. Who else, besides our parents, defends us, welcomes us, protects us ?! The family has to be our safe haven, our refuge from everything that hurts us. It must be our impulse, our incentive to face the difficulties of life. The family is our base, our home ... If we take that away from a child, what's left over? Taking a safe home to a child is like denying it to existence.Good job, Hungary. Thank you, Jake. Keep up the good work.
Songs with messages are abundant. France 2018 presented "Mercy" by Madame Monsieur about boat immigrants and how one child was born on the ship. There is a play between "merci" (meaning thank you" and "mercy" in English. Romania 2015 presented a song that was a manifesto, raising awareness for children whose parents have left them behind to work abroad. Particularly absent Romanian fathers who migrate illegally but never come back and as they are illegal, there are no family reunions. Thus many Romanian kids become fatherless although they do have fathers.
My favorite singer from my own country. Can't forget that feeling when our entry could be my winner, without being biased. (Even though it's just my second fav song from him, after Juliet.) ❤️
And I love your reaction. That you take it seriously and dont just think Eurovision. Sometimes the message is strong enough to overcome the agenda ( of the eurovision money maker ) and this was it. Powerful, and thank you!
Prior to the contest, i loved this entry.......still like it, although the passion has diminished somewhat........great sentiment around this song.....5th?......not quite so sure anymore but top 10 definitely!!👍👍
Okay... I know this was a sad song but I missed your smile Jake! The song: I'm Hungarian I live in Hungary. I don't like András's voice, because such as my cat's meowing. Nevertheless, this is my favorite ESC song (from my country) because it has important message. Even though I don't like András's voice, I'm proud of this song. Domestic violence unfortunately is everyday in the world. Need to talk about it! ESC, I think, is not just a festival but a place to share the people's thoughts with each other. I recommend the song's official video because its visual world is very strong! ruclips.net/video/KysAcRNquPg/видео.html
when I first saw it, I didn't get the appeal of it. It didn't sound like anything that would top the European charts. Mind you I didn't get the ESC back then. It's about who wins them that day. What scores on Eurovision doesn't always score on the charts and what scores on the charts doesn't always score on Eurovision.
The singer was great, the message is great, the staging was ok, but the song itself didn't do anything to me, I mean it was spoiled with avarage dance bit or something. I felt like I should feel connection but I didn't...
I was very happy with Austria’s win but I really wanted Hungary to win. Everything about this performance was incredible and it would have been Hungary’s first win which they definitely deserve.
We will never win this competition, because who wins, has to organise the next one and Hungary doesn't have the financial background for that. Sadly.....

@@martonmanomuhari6091 You are wrong. It does. Maybe instead of building another football stadium...

Dmytro Novashok I mean he only came 10th with the public
'only?' i think his vocals are not always on point, but it's still a very good entry, the message is very great :) ( and my respect for running and singing after it)
Dmytro Novashok thank you :) Köszönjük 🇭🇺🇭🇺

This got the majority of my votes that year. Then again with Origo in 2017. Hungary has been one of my favourite countries in recent years
Freaking loved this song! Glad it came 5th! Very glad that he used this Eurovision platform to raise awareness for a very important matter!
I love “Rise like a Phoenix”, but THIS was my winner ❤️❤️❤️ masterpiece song and performance for me! Still love this song...goosebumps 💕
Definitely my winner! This performance, this song, this voice just WOW!
I love this song. It makes me emotional because I can relate to it from my own childhood experiences, but now I've moved country and I am starting to make a better life for myself so things really can get better. It's such an important message and I'm glad Hungary wasn't afraid to sing about it.
This was my favorite in 2014!! Loved it then and love it now!! Fantastic!!
Hungary is my favourite eurovision country. And this is amazimg song (Viszlát nyár will always be my favourite but this song is also so good)
Thank you so much ❤️
From Hungary 🥰
I hope Hungary will win next year.
Wait and hear the song first!!! :-)
Me too.
Hungary withdrew from the competition for years now and unfortunately there's no plan in sight to return.
I had totally forgotten this entry, and after all this time, I like it more now than before.
I completely agree with you about Hungary, they are so great! I love this song, the strongest entry that year ❤️
A very good entry from Hungary. The story that’s told in this song makes ones eyes full of tears. Such tuff, strong lyrics! It hit’s my soul. A great entry!
Yap, crazy respect! Every time I hear this song I got goosebumps.

The singer, Andras, is also of American descent, he’s got more songs and also got a band! All so good!!!
"One of my favourite esc countries." What an honour, thanks we love you too! :D And glad you liked the song, I was especially curious about your opinion on this one.
This, Armenia, and even Sweden really pack a punch emotionally. I was really happy with the top 5 from this year!
My winner that year. It was the perfect song: melody, music, atmosphere, performance, singer, color grading, staging, lyrics!

Nice words!💭
My favourite Hungarian Entry they deserve Top 5 for sure
I remember this one, at the start it was tipped as a winner but slowly the votes fell away as the contest went on.
The lyrics of the song is very emotional, in music I really like the slow part.
One of my fav. Hungary entries! ♥♥♥
Can't wait for your reaction on Armenia 4th place!
I was very happy with Austria’s win but I really wanted Hungary to win.
Hi, Jake. Another deep song, intense performance. I really like this.
Hungary was my winner before the shows started. I was very happy it placed to high!

I love this song my second favorite, next the real winner 🇦🇲
Wow Magyarorszag, prof song
This should have won this was my number 1 an the UK 2nd
My favorite singer from my own country. Can't forget that feeling when our entry could be my winner, without being biased. (Even though it's just my second fav song from him, after Juliet.) ❤️

Could u plz do your top ten for 2014?
The music video shows the pain of a child being beaten by her father and the mother suffering the domestic abuse too.
It was an absolute gutpunch.
Prior to the contest, i loved this entry.......still like it, although the passion has diminished somewhat........great sentiment around this song.....5th?......not quite so sure anymore but top 10 definitely!!👍👍
Seriously?.....your teacher?👍
@Ryan Elyssa Atwood you are SO lucky!!
So strong!
Well we’re down to Armenia. Hmmm....
Back to Hungary, it was my winner besides Sweden. But a 5th place finish was great. New Yorkers represent!!
Next up is my favorite Eurovision entry of all time!
You should react to the opening of the finale of 2014 show and also the Emelie Deforest performance of teardrops/rainmaker.
United Kingdom 1995 (Love City Groove) and 1998 (Where are you?)
Also Iceland 1997 and 1999.
Beautiful song, react to Slovenia 2005 ❤️
I really missed Hungary in ESC i liked his 2014, 2016 and 2018 so much and i hope they participait in 2022

omg
He's actually American .. did you know?
His father is American. His mother is Hungarian.
Randal Alford Yeah, but born and raised in America but later he moved to Hungary cause his grandma was ill.
When you're born in america you're an American you idiot ...
His mother is Hungarian, his father is African but yeah, he was born in America
This was my Top-3 in 2014! Still can't believe that Sweden and Armenia overcame this masterpiece :(
I think you should react to the video clip, I think it illustrates the message very well
Okay... I know this was a sad song but I missed your smile Jake!

This placed 4th for the juries, but just a 10th place from televote.
Please react to new Ieva Song Absorbed. ❤️
And since him, no one ended up in the top 10 from Hungary.. Such a shame.
React esc hungary 2019 qualification
This guy is half american if i know it right
Please react to Ieva"s Zasimauskitė - Absorbed new song♥
Where is his reaction he's as silent as the dead
Denmark loves hungary
when I first saw it, I didn't get the appeal of it. It didn't sound like anything that would top the European charts.

te tudom hogy magyar vagy ha jol tippelek akk pls dobj egy szivet
Like aki magyar . like when you hungary
The singer was great, the message is great, the staging was ok, but the song itself didn't do anything to me, I mean it was spoiled with avarage dance bit or something. I felt like I should feel connection but I didn't...
Obviously Armenia is much better than Hungary in this competition!!.
I enjoy the message but sonically this song doesn't appeal to me at all, I don't like it.
Am I the only one who thinks it's just average and way too overrated? In such great year there was a lot of better entries :/
Unpopular opinion:
It was good, yep, but nothing more. Spain for example would have deserved that spot actually more than Hungary.
