    303 Tonneau Cover & Convertible Top Cleaner:
    Rinses residue free
    Easy to use, spray on, rinse off tonneau cover cleaner
    Great to use prior to applying 303 Fabric Guard
    Safely cleans and brightens all fabric & vinyl convertible tops, tonneau covers, and car bras
    303 Fabric Guard:
    Fabric protector that strengthens and restores lost water repellency for outdoor fabrics*
    Safe for outdoor synthetic and natural fibers
    Protects against water-based stains
    Does not alter fabric color, feel, flammability or breathability
    Curing time of 12-24 hours after application (no exposure to water during that time)
    *While 303 Fabric Guard does not provide UV protection directly, it protects the original UV resistance of outdoor fabrics by adding a layer of water repellency and stain resistance, which helps prolong the life of the fabric.
    **Don't use a pressure washer beyond 1500 psi to wash fabric tops. Ideally, you want 800-1000 psi max. If you are unsure of the pressure of your pressure washer, just use a regular garden hose for rinsing.

      Use a bungy cord and pull your seat belt out the door of the car towards the rear wheel and use the bungy to hold it in place flat against the body of the car. Gently close the door but not all the way. Pressure wash the stain out of the seat belt against the body of the car (a clean car) and it’s good as new again!

    I have used this kit on my 2019 Mustang convertible top. It has kept the top looking like new, jet black. Because the protectant is petroleum based. Apply in a well ventilated garage. They recommend drying in the sun. So I apply and let it dry in the mid-day sun for 4-5 hours. Of course watching for rain.

    I know you try a LOT of products but I’ve been so impressed by maniac wheel and tyre cleaner. I won it in a giveaway from Eddie Colon and it has completely replaced brake buster for me. I tried it on an old accord with that brake dust that’s been baked on for years that you don’t expect to come off unless you use an acid. Completely vanished, just a little agitation from a brush, and 15 year old wheels came out like new. Also it’s a very good tire cleaner. Haven’t had to do more than one pass yet. Also it smells great.

    Great video Pan! I'll be getting my new Porsche 911 convertible next month so this is excellent timing. Any reason why you clean the top last? You always advocate cleaning from top to bottom. How often do you apply the fabric guard, after every washing? Thanks for all you do!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +3

      Congrats on getting your new Porsche. For a convertible top, as it's normally recommended not to use pre-wash snow foams or shampoos on them, we typically leave them for last in this scenario, as we'd use soft top specific products to clean and protect.
      You apply the Fabric Guard as needed. Meaning when you see the hydrophobics starting to diminish, it's time to reapply. Durability really depends on how much mileage you do, your weather/conditions, etc so it's impossible to know.

    As an FYI 303 had a bad batch of protectant out in the market. It turns ashen gray/white.
    But a good company stands behind their product. Offering replacement and refunds.
    The bad product washed off using Dawn Power Wash, at 303's suggestion.
    Did a good job last week. Then came over that with the 303 cleaner and fresh protectant today. Makes my 2020 Race Red 'stang look like it just rolled off the showroom floor with a jet black top.

    @Pan The Organizer I have a question. I watch a lot of your videos and Yvan LaCroix's videos. Yvan says not to use the pressure washer unless you use the SOAP/BLACK tip because it's really easy to get lines in the soft top but i see you have no problem. I know you have the Krenzla that's adjustable. Do you put it on low pressure or do you just use distance as your Ally? I'm still starting out and haven't done a soft top yet but I know it's coming at some point and I don't want to cause damage obviously. But I want to learn best practices before I get into that situation. Thanks for all of the help through your videos. I know we haven't met but I've learned so much from you and Yvan that I consider you my mentors. Keep the knowledge coming I'm always willing to learn. Thanks again.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      I would also recommend staying low on the pressure if using a pressure washer (800-1200 psi max) and don't get too close to the fabric. I use a wide 40 degree nozzle so the fan is wide and of course, 26 years of detailing experience helps. If one is unsure of how much pressure their pressure washer has, or don't have much experience, perhaps they should stick to a garden hose, which is totally fine.
      I set my Kranzle pressure washer to 1000 psi when washing cars. You should never go above 2000 psi when washing cars, as you could damage the paint. And you have to be even more careful with fabric convertible tops.

    Are you supposed to apply any of this again once you wash the car ? I have a Porsche 911 992 Cabriolet and am wondering how many times I need to wash it. I don't drive the car when it snows or pours therefore only on cool days and sunny days, therefore I don't need to wash it that much. If I do apply a protection like this, I'm wondering if I'll need to reapply it after every thorough wash ? Thanks.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 месяцев назад

      No you don't need to redo this after each wash. You would only redo it if you see the hydrophobic properties (i.e. water beading) starting to diminish. That's a visual indicator it's time to replenish the protection. It depends on your conditions, weather and mileage.

    303 fabric guard is the absolute best product for convertible tops especially when you have a brand new top installed or on a new car's top , the best way this works is to mask the car off around the top area borders plus use thin plastic to cover the rest car completely after cleaning use the lint roller then we spray the top in a x pattern saturating the top in direct sunlight if possible on not to hot of a day 80 or so , and below works great - do not wipe the product off just let it dry right out in the sun if you can ...we have found out in the upholstery shop in testing this gives the best results with the longest duration of protection ....you really have to mask the car up good and cover with plastic for over spray other wise it is a night mare once hardened to get off parts of the car that you don't want it on .... do this every summer ... or if the car is only used for limited summer use and stored covered in the winter do this 303 every other year will work just fine .... I have a Camaro Z28 SLP LS1 convertible car I put a new top on it 1 year ago, and its a garaged car covered car only used in summer with a cover used all the time in the summer when not driving it , and the 303 coating is in perfect pristine condition as is the top it looks amazing brand new , and when treated with 303 it just makes the top look really rich darker more vibrant in color ... great channel just subscribed ! Every softtop Ive been asked to detail has been covered in green alge, mould and lychen.
    So after cleaning they have needed to be recoloured and proofed. Pain in the ass getting them to dry in the UK weather.
    Ive stopped taking on canvas and mohair soft tops. I'll happily still do old vinyl roofs (MGB etc)

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +2

      Yeah I have seen a few videos from the UK with mold and algae and lychen. Crazy humid and rainy weather really takes a beating on those things! And I fully understand why you would stop taking in such jobs. Most clients don't understand the amount of work that has to go into such jobs, or they don't want to pay for the work.
      Also, unfortunately, most convertible top owners aren't detailing enthusiasts, so more often than not, they don't care for their vehicles and let them get to a state of disrepair. Regular maintenance is key to keeping any surface of the vehicle clean and protected.

    Hi Pan. I've been browsing on this subject before getting my hands on cleaning my MX5 soft top. One thing that is usually said is that to never use pressure wash on soft top. As seen on this video you used it... so I'm assuming it's ok, right? Thank you!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Месяц назад

      That's because you shouldn't be using high pressure to do the job. People who don't know what they're doing use high powered gas pressure washers at 4000 psi and that can absolutely ruin the soft top, or the paint for that matter. When washing cars, always stay below 2000 psi. I set my pressure washer to 1000 psi when washing cars. So no issues with that.

      That is a perfect method! There are many ways to wash a car, but that is certainly the safest possible. If the car is not too dirty, you could decide to skip the second foaming part (lubrication) and just hand wash. If your car has a good protection on it, it should be very slick, and with a good shampoo, you should have plenty of lubrication. ;)

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      That is correct and incorrect at the same time haha. The reason why most say not to use a pressure washer, it because they don't want people to come in with a 4000 psi gas powered pressure washer as that could for sure damage the fibers.
      For detailing, it's never recommended to go beyond 2000 psi when washing cars. I set my pressure washer to 1000 psi (the more important is water output, at 2.1 GPM my pressure washer has a stout water flow). It's totally safe to use on fabric tops.
      So if you have a pressure washer that generates too much pressure or want to be 100% safe if unsure, just use a garden hose.

I would imagine the fabric roof would build up contamination just like any other car surface maybe even more so, so I thought it would definitely be beneficial but I haven't tried it yet and wouldn't want to risk trying it on a customers car. Any advice is appreciated

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      I don't have the answer to that, but I wouldn't use iron removers on fabric surfaces, as they don't say they are compatible with the fabric. Also, as fabric is not as densely packed as the clear coat of your paint, my guess is that the small metal particles won't bond to fabric, it just gets flushed with the water. Hence why you never see "rust spots" on fabric roofs.

      If you have a bird dropping, just spray some quick detailer or rinseless wash solution on top, let it dwell a bit, and gently wipe with a microfiber towel. That will allow you to prevent etching from the acidic contents of the bird droppings until your next wash.

    My 68 Camaro has vinyl top, does it work the same way or do you recommend something else??

      303 has a different kit for vinyl tops: amzn.to/47a0VF1
      Same cleaner, but the protectant is different, as vinyl isn't fabric. So you use a vinyl protectant.

      I hope this helps!

    Everything I've seen and read says not to use a pressure washer on fabric convertible tops as the water is forced through the fabric.

    how does your pressure washer tip work with a foam cannon?

      You remove the tip and connect the pressure washer. They all have 1/4" quick disconnect type connectors.

      My pleasure. It can get overwhelming to reply to everyone on RUclips as I receive thousands of comments every day (from almost 1 million subscribers as you can imagine). I spend up to four hours every day just to reply to comments. No other big detailing channel does that. So it's nice to see my efforts are appreciated by my viewers.
      I will continue to reply personally to comments every day as long as I possibly can. It is getting harder and harder though, as it cuts down on my family and personal time a lot.
