Been using both 303 products on my convertibles for 15 years. Great product. I never thought of using a vacuum first - thanks for that. Keep up the great content.
I need to give you my testimonial regards 303. As you will see in my comment below, I reported a terrible result with 303 Fabric Guard. I reported it to 303 and got a call from their Tech Support within 7 hours of my message to them. As it turned out, the provider of the product (on Amazon) shipped me product that had been recalled. 303 gave me instructions for correction of my issue and are shipping a replacement for the product and refund for what I paid for their product. That’s the respond and “stand behind of product” that other manufacturers should provide. My hat is off to 303! Thank you. I look forward to starting over and expect the result Chelsea describes.
Great video i literally just bought both of these products so i couldn't have asked for a belter video to make me fee confident that i chose the correct products. i a meguiars guy but i found these at my local Oreilles and heard good things about them. Thanks again!
Awesome video. I bought this product at Advanced Auto Parts to clean the fabric top on a 2002 Cadillac Sedan. This thing is tan with black and green mold all over it. I think I’ll pray b4 getting started.
I really enjoy 303 products, I do use the 303 outdoor protectant on my interior, and have had great performance, I always put on two coats, it's really good to use in a winter prep detail, come March, your clean up of the carpets is going to easiest thing you've ever done.
Hello Chelsea, I have just found your channel and wanted to say its great. Love your approach to both detailing and video content. I have a small channel in the UK and take a similar relaxed approach. Unlike you Im not a professional detailer. I am an enthusiast and have been for a long time. Great video 👍
Hi! I'm going to try the 303 cleaner this morning on my car! Following your advice I bought the cleaning product as well as a horsehair brush to clean the canvas top. Let's see how it goes :)
Find the vinyl top, not fabric. But I believe I use that fabric guard last year after the cleaner. This year I'll use the protectant. Because the fabric guard actually says not to use on vinyl
I used the same product on my soft top. My problem was that mold kept growing on my tan top. I got most of it off with a bleach and water mixture. Then I treated it with the fabric guard. Have you seen results from it repealing mold?? Every clean a moldy top?
To clean Mold and neutralize it use "MOLDEX". Don't use Bleach. The bleach will burn or weaken the stiching at the seams. Use Moldex, when cleaning also wear PPE Personal Protective Equipment, safety glasses, Latex disposable gloves and a face mask. You should not breathe the air when cleaning mold. Spores can go airborne and once you breathe it into your lungs it can reproduce. Everything you discard like paper towels or rags should be discarded in a sealed plastic bag and tossed in the trash sealed. Don't just toss it loosely in the trash. Mold will kill. It is a silent killer. If your vehicle is always parked outside and you don't have a garage then invest in a car cover. I know, if you live in a seasonably wet area it can be difficult however you can treat the convertible top every 3 months and make sure you use a hydrophobic product to seal the convertible top so that water will bead up and roll off. Also, on a Mini Cooper Convertible treat the rubber seal around the convertible top because with time they tend to crack allowing water to get into the insides. Use a rubber treatment product to keep the rubber pliable. If your weather stripping is cracked look to replace it as soon as possible. Water will get in and cause damage inside the vehicle and Mold can grow inside the vehicle as well. Remember the word "HYDROPHOBIC" when purchasing a product for the exterior of your vehicle. This will protect the exterior finish for many years. Don't use any ol kind of soap to wash your convertible or your car for that matter. Do your research about what product is the best for your application. Good luck! Da P8NTRMAN 🎨
I used 303 Tonneau Cover and Convertible Too Clean on my Mini Soft Top. It cleaned up nicely. Then I used 303 Fabric Guard and got terrible WHITE powdery residue!! 😢 What have I done wrong and how can I correct it?
I got 303 aerospace protectant ultimate UV protection on the back it says do not use on canvas did I get the wrong product for restoring color thank you
Hi Chelsea, I just bought an s2000 that has a soft top and the top has like water spots. White circles. You think this product will remove them? thank you!
What color is the top? It may but be careful to not over scrub when trying to remove them as you could stress the fibers and scortch them so to speak. You could try something like a carpet cleaner cleaner/resolve lightly with a toothbrush in a small spot to see if that gets the spots up then clean the top as usual.
Attention 2 Details w/ Chelsea sorry for the late reply I didn’t get a notification. But the top is black from an s2000. The spots look like water spots. I just ordered the same product as you and I’m going to give it a try. Also I tried the meguiars one and didn’t work. so I’ll see what happens. Thank you!
@@eliseodiaz4656 I used some diluted vinegar (50/50) to remove the spots on my S2000 top using a gentle brush. If they really are water spots and not a different type of stain, this should improve it.
It would have to be a product designed for fabric....using one not designed for fabric could either have no effect at all or contain too much silicon dioxide and harden the fabric
Great video! Thanks for using our products!

This one is a gem! Tons of great little knowledge nuggets for convertible tops and the 303 products. Love it! 👊😁
How did you know we just got a convertible with fabric top and we looking for cleaning tips?! LOL Thank you Chelsea for the info!!
I used these products on a client’s car after watching this video and the results were amazing!
I’ve never owned a convertible, never thought about vacuuming it first, makes sense now, great video Chelsea 👍😁
This was extremely helpful! Thank you!!

Thank for the info Chelsea! Perfect day in western PA to get our Spyder top treated!
Yes! Beautiful out here in East PA. Washed both the Subie and truck.
@@attention2detailswchelsea I got 3 of 5 cleaned up yesterday lol.
This video is right on time! Have a S2K top to clean today!
Thank you for this video!
Chelsea, if I’ve applied the coating too heavy, how do I now clean the white residue off?
Can you try vacuuming it with a bristle attachment
Chelsea, 303 recommended a good scrub with Dawn Power Wash with super flush of a rinse. I’ll let you know how it comes out.

Hey Chelsea, have u used this product on the mats, rugs, carpet, and seats? Is it any good? Durability? Longevity? TIA
I get a lot of my 303 at the local marina store along with other detailing items.
I see others taping the car up to protect the paint. Any thoughts on that?
You can if you are nervous about overspray

Shouldn't you not clean in direct sunlight
I find a lint roller works well to keep the top lint free. You can vacuum it then use a link roller after.
Can i use the fabric guard on car interior cloth seats? If so do i spray directly on seat or should i spray on MF towel and wipe? Thanks!!
Does it actually dry like paint or does it have a wet feel to it still

I did all work with the Fabric Guard indoors.
Did you apply it heavy or a light mist?
@@attention2detailswchelsea, I thot I applied a light coat.
I got 303 aerospace protectant ultimate UV protection on the back it says do not use on canvas did I get the wrong product for restoring color thank you
Yes you need the fabric guard not the aerospace protectant. That is meant for protecting plastic surfaces not canvas or fabric
This works on twill as well right?
What vacuum brush are you using
I have a Jeep Wrangler can I use these products on a vinyl top?
Yes I’ve used them several times before and they work well
Does it work on a Microfiber Polyester out door car cover ?

Where did you get the brush attachment for the vacuum?

Thanks for asking I was curious as well, and for 9 bucks it's worth getting.
I have a friend that sold coatings his entire career. He advises to never use Dawn on automotive paint. It is very harmful to the clear coats of cars.
What if you were to use an sio2 or ceramic coating spray on it, would that work?
It would have to be a product designed for fabric....using one not designed for fabric could either have no effect at all or contain too much silicon dioxide and harden the fabric
use warm/hot water to wash the top
Thanks for this Chelsea! Does 303 recommend 1 coat or two of the protectant?
One coat
how much do you charge to do a top?
$25-$40 based on condition
@@attention2detailswchelsea thats about what i was thinking
If that guard gets on your glass, chrome, or clearcoat and dries you are screwed.
Where's the video showing it repelling the water?

when in doubt ask a woman!
It says use use outdoors only so am I able to use it inside it doesn’t smell too powerful? Thanks
It’s strong so make sure you have ventilation. I had the garage door up so it was fine
