I purchased one of the first ones available. I use a retired iPhone 6+ so I can keep my working iPhone in my pocket where it belongs and the Teslogic-connected iPhone always on my steering wheel. The phone or tablet that you use doesn’t even have to have a SIM card installed because Teslogic transmits in Bluetooth. One feature that you didn’t mention is that Tesla notifications (including FSD beta ones) show on the Teslogic screen. This, along with the turn signals, is my favorite feature and the reason that I bought. Notifications on the main Tesla screen are often hidden by my hand on the steering wheel and often disappear before I get a chance to read them.
Most important takeaway is that you provide the latest information not currently available anywhere else AND give your honest opinion. Really appreciate it,
Interesting. Maybe even compelling. Some metrics are quite interesting. You didn’t mention, so I’m assuming not, if there’s a way to store and review the data for later review. I think you’re right; after a few drives, the inflow of numbers might loose their appeal. But if the data could be stored on the phone in the background and the driver could review, say, a month’s accumulation… that might be a plus. Interesting product! Great review as always!
Actually i believe it does although I never thought to test that. In the settings there is an option for "Recording Logs". I just have my disabled so Ill have to check it out.
The only thing I would have against this is that you can get the S3XY Buttons which add functionality to the car with programmable buttons, but then, at the same time, mobile app developers can tap into the same data to make stats apps that display the same thing as this Teslogic setup.
I have the sexy buttons. I was a part of that launch and I guess I do use them to open my glvoe box. Their app is pretty good but I think this offers a lot in the way of a clean way to access great info.
This is the best is say. Not much needed to be invved, not intrusive and means theft is room.for.easier future themes, ease of also using different endpoint. I'm getting it right away
I was very interested until you described how basically nothing about the navigation screen works properly. I'll hold off until it does work, especially at the price.
It’s a little pricey. Usually, I’m pretty happy spending $90-$100 for something that works. Here I’m spending double that for something with a few bugs. Also, if the mount is a little janky, I probably wouldn’t even bother, even at half the price. So, it …. needs improvement, but a nice idea!
Great video. Good review. Neat device. Have they updated the App. yet to correct the issues you identified? Would the Wireless charger option address the mounting concern? $235 W Wireless charger seems like a fair price based on the overall cost of a Tesla!
@@sorphin "Tesla doesn't use obd2" is incorrect, OBD-II is just a port specification (port size/shape/pinout) which Tesla most definitely uses. Yes it's ultimately just a CANbus tap, but that's all it is on any vehicle. There is no other protocol specification for on board diagnostics, manufacturers all implement it differently.
I noticed that in 2022 the Model 3 Performance went from 450 HP to 430 HP as shown by the certificate of origin from June 2022 car to August 2022 car. Do you know if they just changed how they measure it or if there was a change?
Hey Cody, I'm interested in this one. I already have a phone mount on my steering column which is more sturdy, so that's not an issue. But your discount isn't applying when I click the link, can you check that out?
I got the device but the app keeps crashing on Android! Anyone with this issue and have a fix? The app lasts no longer than a minute before it crashes. Latest Android on Pixel.
@@bizzy511 You're just unplugging a connector and plugging it back in. It can be undone whithout a trace in less than 5 mins. If you had to tap into wires or cut them off it would be a different thing.
So now I'd need a magnifying glass to read all the information this thing shows on my phone, which is an iPhone 13 Mini. And that stupid notch would bug the heck out of me while driving. Plus, I don't like my air vents blocked. And it's too expensive. Yeah, I'll pass. But I do like the performance data and the blinker going red if another vehicle is there (something Tesla should give us).
As shown, not useful to me. If they had a screen that showed speed, set speed, and speed limit Al in large font I could justify it. In general the app is designed as if I was holding it closer to my face and not busy driving. Visuals need to be glancable. Too many small fonts.
The primary screen when you turn it on has the speed large in front with that info. I didn't have any issue seeing this on my iphone pro MAX. The small fonts were secondary info in my opinion.
So don't buy it... some people are interested in detailed performance information of their vehicles. Rest assured you can still get your groceries just fine.
The phone mount should be like this one you can charge the phone at the same time S3XYWORLD Tesla Model 3 Y One Tap Design Cellphone Mount Phone Holder Compatible for iPhone MagSafe Feature Dashboard Accessories
We’re now developing our wireless charging phone mount, it will be released in about 2 months. It will be available as an additional product and we’ll give a discount to existing customers.

Thanks for the info, Robert! Wondering whether I could use a "retired" iPhone was my first question.
So you can use say, an ipad mini?

The main reason I would want the display is to show the speed. If it can't accurately show the speed, it's worthless to me.
Kind of interesting - does it show Km/h (metric)? Integrated Navigation on speed screen would be very nice.
Why is the city-highway breakdown tilted towards more miles remaining on HWY?

Thank you for all your hard work & Great videos. My question to you is your thoughts on Teslogic vs Sexy Buttons with Commander ?
This would be a great solution to bring an old iPad Mini back to life. Is the app available for iPad? Is there a mount for iPad?

I found it actually stuck better without the case. I just used the magbak from my iphone. still moves a bit but wont fall off
It’s interesting that the Teslogic app claims they are not harvesting user driving/location data. That is a pleasant surprise if accurate.
Exactly

Good info. Not for me primarily because I need my phone for gig work. I do question the accuracy as you pointed out.
They have already made some updates so ill see where its at soon
I'm using scan my tesla which is really good. Only thing that's stopping me from ordering is the transmitter not being OBD2.

if you're on a phone call using Bluetooth headphones will that interfere with the app
I couldn't make anything interfere with it. It was just like using any other map app etc.
Does this work with dark mode? That would break the deal if it didn't.
Yes it does and it looks sick! It has an auto mode to match the car

I’d like a device like that with all the functionality of the Tesla screen so i don’t need to stretch my neck to see the main screen.
What happens if a phone call comes in or out while using this?

Most likely
It shouldnt as you're not altering the car in any way.

Get the carplay screen I have in my model 3. So great having waze with ever drive.
Does it do km per hr?
I will ask the developer that one and make a short on all these questions.
Yes! The app switches to the system used in Tesla's main interface, so it can be SI or imperial, depending on your country.
