BROKEN Taco Bell GOLD PS4 - The power and eject buttons didn't work and the PS4 wouldn't even power on when I tried to insert a disc so, of course, the next step was to get the console taken apart. Once I got it opened up the root problem was obvious - cockroaches! Gross! I hate cleaning up bug infested consoles but it's worth it to get this special edition PS4 working again.

Software bugs are certainly more tolerable than those hardware bugs.
Totally agree
I was SO jealous of the winners of this console. I only won a trip to the bathroom after my trip to Taco Bell.
@Adam Thiry well, my trips to the bathroom are usually 1:1 with my trips to the Bell. Maybe I’m blessed.
Lol, we're all winners then aren't we!
@Adam Thiry lmao
Ahhh so you got the PsPoo.
I mean that’s pretty much our prize after eating at Taco Bell.
As much as I love Taco Bell, the condition of that system is on point for the person who consumes enough Taco Bell to win a PS4. That was probably some Baja Blast corrosion.
"The perfect amount of thermal paste" is my favorite inside joke. It cracks me up how much of a big deal everyone used to make about the exact amount of non-conductive paste was being used. It caused me to use way too little years back.
Lol, that's exactly why I do it!
Indeed, any excess get's squished out anyways.
I'm glad someone's sponsoring you, you make legitimately enjoyable videos.
I appreciate that!
This was one satisfying repair. Whoever previously messed with that PS4 legit killed it, and you revived it. I was worried you weren't going to put gloves on too for a moment and then on they came. It's still a bit early but congrats on nearly reaching that 1 million subs mark.
Have to wear gloves for roaches.
You should try repairing old consoles, ps1, n64 ect
fixing stuff lives from parts replacement, hard to find parts for those consoles
Retro console repairs and upgrades (capacitors etcetera) is definitely something I'd like to see 👍
@@rostemio exactly, more of a challenge
Yeah
@@YouNameItGaming well they still make the capacitors, you can use modern ones in old consoles, as long as it’s the right one, they will almost definitely be smaller though
2:52 "I've seen heat sinks that are a lot worse than this" Yeah so have we since you showed us lol
That's true!
Would like to see more Xbox Series / PS5 repairs if possible! Or even old consoles like PS2?
There's more coming!
@@Tronicsfix will there be a raffle or purchase option for us patreons ?
Your my hero Steve always doing your best to bring back broken electronics
Steve: "Broken Taco Bell PS4 - It was GROSS inside"
Me: "Wait.....taco bell...? Do i really want to know what's inside it?"
Taco Bell and roaches go together like salt and pepper lol...
Ha, ha!
The taco bell PS4 ate taco bell
I thought there was going to be melted nacho queso inside or guacomole.
I’m amazed at the amount of roaches in these computers and game consoles I see in lots of repair videos.
You’re videos are really great and for the first time I was able to guess which diagnosis test you were going to run for each failed component before you said it…well at least up until the disc drive motor so I’ve still got more to learn. Thanks again
That's great! You're going to be better than me before long!
kind of a bummer that the entire system isnt gold.
I agree! That's why I didn't think it was a Taco Bell edition when I first saw it.
Very nice to see this special edition revived. Also the part when you release the motor of it's locked position was nice to learn never seen that before. Yes we want to see more special edition fixes 👍🏻 and yes the perfect amount makes a huge difference 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it
A new
TronicsFix video? Best part of my week. Love some hot DIY/Right to Repair action!
Wow, I repaired a broken PS4 once and considering the amount of things that you fixed and checked I must have been really lucky. On mine, the HDD wasn't attached correctly and needed a system reinstall, the disc drive was dented and wouldn't take a disc and the heat sink was 50% full of dust. I haven't been able to replace the disc drive, but I've fixed the other two problems and given it a bit of a clean and now I effectively have a digital PS4...
That I've hardly used since I got a PS5. XD
Always enjoy watching your videos. Good job
It is so much fun watching your process!
So satisfying watching this channel!!
@3:06 LOL i love it. Great video steve!
Amazing as always. Great job!
Very nice! Great to see that console working again.
Yes, it's a beauty!
Way to go! Thanks, and best wishes to you and yours.
Your work is astonishing even when there is a "bug" in the system. Carry on!
Great one, I really enjoyed it!
Beautiful as usual 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video lad keep up with the good work
Thanks, will do!
Excellent editing and pacing in this video, nice a succinct without losing any of your great personality. Great work here!!!!
Thank you for reviving all these machines!
One more console saved from the landfill! Nice work Steve!
Yes! Thank you!
Si basically you had to replace every single part of that ps4 to fix it 😂😂😂
Just the power supply, a motor for the disk drive, the hard drive, and replace missing parts. Eh, he replaced half of it. 😅
I love the suspense in these videos of waiting to see if the game disc spins up and appears on the home screen haha!
Glad you like them!
I dont know much about repair but bro i love your videos, they are so satisfying.. keep up the good work 👍
Boggles my mind, ive still got consoles i bought in the 80's/90's etc that still work and are in great condition....great videos chap keep em coming 👍
Another good job. Greetings from Poland.
Yes! Thank you for the rebuild! Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Satisfying. Good Job.

I honestly would never fix roach infested stuff, it grosses me out to much.

Well done Steve!

Great repair 👍🏾
Another great video.
Great video Steve! Would love to see your break down of the Nintendo Switch OLED, if you can get your hands on one lol!
Nice , now I'm waiting for a McDonald's ps4 lol
That would be amazing!
I was like AHHHH WHERE ARE THE GLOVES. A sigh of relief when you put them on. lol
Good Fix!! That was a good one! Terrible that roaches actively seek out warm surroundings and go for any electronics they can find.
Yay Steve 👍🏻
Another one saved.
Nice save u got there man, Im surprised u didnt check the PSU 1st for roaches. im starting to miss seeing your more in depth fixes lately, how about an attempt fix on that PSU?
Hey mat, since Black Friday and Christmas is right around the corner, fixing an Amazon Fire Tablet would be a solid video :)
“Aside from the roach, it looks pretty good!” Omg 😱
I’m glad you were able to fix it.
I was waiting for the gloves to come out LOL. I've cleaned some crashing PCs before from customers and found entire living colonies of roaches in side, and then of course the 100's of dead small ones and all that goes with that. It's some really nasty stuff. I've had two over the many years that were so disgusting that I told the client I am throwing it away and will just give them a newer one (low cost business class upgrades I always have on hand) in place of repairing the old one for less cost than the repair. It's obvious at that point they need it more than I do. Blech.
Great job Steve, shame it needed so many parts but that console is such a thing of beauty it's definitely worth it
Agreed! It turned out OK for being so abused early in life
@@Tronicsfix yeah it hurt just knowing that
Taco Bell runs good giveaways. During this time and with the Xbox, I made significantly more trips to Taco Bell. Great gimmick for them. My favorite thing Taco Bell did, back in the day..was Godzilla stuff and I think Goosebumps.
I remember the Godzilla promotions you needed a barcode decoder to see if you won
Awesome more fixing please
Nice content!
Thanks for watching!
It's so satisfying when you succeed!
Happy to see those gloves
I think you should do another compilation to see who can fix and make the most money again that's why I subscribed
I was so glad seeing you putting gloves on...
Wow. I had a ps4 with the same disc issue. I was just leisurely watching this video. But now I think I'm going to try getting to that motor.
I've been inspired by yourself to fix my kids' toys lol!
Keep up the great work my friend!
That is awesome!
that was satisfying !
Nice to see that special edition console being saved :D
That poor Horizon Zero Dawn disc has seen some thing indeed! Good video, hope you're keeping well.
You're The Boss !
Hello! I'm new to console gaming, and I really enjoy your videos! How do people get roaches in the consoles lol ?
Well done
Agreed, probably not as much money in that but I’d love to see that next.
I was not expecting that sponsor 🤣🤣
Nice fix steve, Good to see another playstation back from the dead. It would be amazing to see you fix a ps2 or a ps3. 👍
The club owner from Pat Benatar's _Love is a Battlefield_ ! That's who this guy reminds me of! Damn, I've been trying to think of that ever since he started showing up in my recommendations.
I already use native body wash as my daily body wash it’s amazing
Lots of fixing lol great video
When using IPA & a toothbrush on the motherboard, are you using a "soft" toothbrush, or a kid's toothbrush? Which would be better to avoid scratching stuff?
Have you ever done a video, where you go through some of the old stuff you didnt repair at the time, but overtime you learned how to ?
