Oh wow. This is great hearing the fabulous Teddy Pendergrass. Love his soulful voice and this song. My other favorites he sang with the Blue Notes were “Wake Up Everybody” and “The Love I Lost”. I remember feeling really sad when I heard he passed away. Thanks Asia and BJnfor reacting to this. Loving it. 👏👏🇨🇦
I used to belt this out as a young teenager in the early 70's in Middlesbrough, England every time it was played on Radio Luxembourg, which drifted in and out of the airwaves, on Medium Wave 208. Brilliant!
I'm 72 years old and when this song was played we did what we called the "grind". It was hot and heavy! Teddy's singing made you feel like "grinding"! 😂
This song is a reality check dealing with relationships. He's checking many of us with real issues that we sometime fall short of understanding in our relationships.
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes were the original recording artist for this song. This came out in 1972 when I was in HS, and it was a huge hit. it's an all-time favorite of mine. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks so much for this reaction! ✌💙✌
If I remember correctly (I'm 67) this song is from the early 70s, maybe 1973 or 74. I was in High school at the time, and It was and is, one of the most beautiful songs ever. Thanks for the memories you guys.
Hi guys, I’m a 74 years old soul music fan. I have been exclusively listening soul music since 1968. I love soul music especially harmony groups, so this song is my routine listening one. I like also 70’s soul, because back instrumentals were often full orchestra, especially in Philly soul like this.
This is one of those songs that should have never been covered by any singer or group, because you cant compare anything to a masterpiece and this is a masterpiece
Teddy Pendergrass was a big help for me as a young man. I could play his music with a date and it was always a good night at the end. Listen to that man sang!
I watch and listen to most all reaction videos. You guys are the best and greatest. I watch you guys every day. Asis is beautiful as usual. B J you are a lucky man. As always keep up the good work.
This song is a great example of people listening to the melody and not the lyrics If you hear the lyrics it's saying after all we've been through either you're gonna ride with me or let's go our Separate ways because I can't keep living like this and neither Can you this is a beautiful warning love song Thank you guys for your reaction this is a great example of lyrics versus melody
Asia and BJ, this is REAL MUSIC 🎶 front the SOuL. You'll ❤️ "Bad Luck ", "Hope that we can be together soon, "."I miss you ", "Where are all my friends?", "Don't leave me this way", "You know how to make me feel so good" and more by Harold Melvin and the blue notes with Teddy Pendergrass ad lead vocals🎶🎶🎵🎵!
What a great R&B & soul group from the 70's. Teddy Pendergrass was their lead singer before going solo in 1976. They had some great songs such as "The Love I Lost", "Wake Up Everybody", "Bad Luck", "I Miss You", "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon", "Don't Leave Me This Way" etc.
Excellent song. Saw him in concert Providence, R.I. Great Show ! He sounded just as good live. Great request. Steely Dan - Peg, Babylon Sisters, Show Biz Kids, Don't Take Me Alive, Kid Charlemagne, Fire in the Hole.
Now you need to hear, ((SIMPLY RED)) singing this, more than amazing...🎉🎉🎉of course no one can sing it like the originals, and yes these are definitely the one and only originals!! Absolutely love this song 🎼🎼❤❤♦️♦️🎵🎵🎶🎶
Those magical musicians at Sigma Studio in Philly. They backed up so many performers. Also, a few years later the Eagles producer tried to arrange the intro to "Take It To The Limit" to sound like the intro here. FYI. This is only half of the song.
Asia and BJ. This should be the song you two listen to whenever you have any kind of disagreement. The two of you have a fantastic relationship, and I hope it lasts forever. I heard this song when I was a mere lad way back in the 2oth century during my teenage years. My only wish was to one day find someone who fits me like glove the way you two do. The next step is to play some romantic music. Here are a couple of suggestions. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH by Barry White. KEEP COMING BACK by Richard Marx. PILLOW TALK by Sylvia. Enjoy
I love love love this song ! This group is great ! This song and Etta James At Last are 2 of my favorites! They are on my favorites list !😊 Please listen to Let It Be Me by Jerry Butler and Betty Everett. You will love it ! 😊
