My dad always took me afterschool because he use to go when he was a boy when everything was about 5 cents. The classic drinks I grew up on from him are the lime Ricky's and the Vanilla egg cream. I worked at Ray’s part-time during the summer of 2010 when I lived in NYC for an internship. He’s exactly the same, I am stunned and pleased he’s still kickin! Back when I worked there he wasn’t supposed to have the fryers and they were in the back on the ground covered in news papers 😬 glad he got some ventilation or whatever permits he needed! I also got to serve Matt Dillon an egg cream and help a Polish guy translate who was stabbed in the park. One of the most interesting jobs I’ve ever had
It reminded me of my grandpa too! His favorite thing was Hershey's bars too!! But I bawled thinking about how much I miss him. He was like a dad to me.

If I'm not mistaken, he was kidnapped from the store and left in the back seat of a car. He then proceeded to break the window, crawl out and go straight back to work without even calling the police
Oh this man is truly blessed...as much as i want to store to stay open and be cared for..i really want this man to be taken cared of too..he Really deserve all the best and to rest as well. May things get better for him and may he gets peace and rest

He raised the rent to where my family member could not afford to keep up the store any more. He would have had to work 7 days a week plus day and night to make ends meet. He couldn't do it...so he let go of the business sadly. It was a family business. Eventually the store got remodeled and turned into a big chain sports store. No longer a mom & pops joint. He managed a store. Didn't own it though, but paid rent. The store was there for YEARS upon YEARS serving people. The land lord decided he wanted more money. He raised the rent to where my family member could not afford to keep up the store any more. He would have had to work 7 days a week plus day and night to make ends meet. He couldn't do it...so he let go of the business sadly. It was a family business. Eventually the store got remodeled and turned into a big chain sports store. No longer a mom & pops joint. It's just the shits when land lords get greedy and want more money. They should recognize how hard the person is working and if the place is successful.
