I love Chicago Music Exchange. I have bought four high quality custom shop guitars from them and one stock, they always give me a good deal on the price and treat me like family. Chicago Music Exchange is a great place to do business with, if they don’t have what you are looking for, they will find it or custom order it for you. Thanks
Love all the experts on here, especially since probably 99% haven't even played one. I hate Henry but it won't change the fact that these guitars are awesome. Don't be hating cause you can't afford the 5k-go work harder and make more money.
i know i'm 6 years late to the party here, but i'm looking at a current CME les paul you have for sale, and i'd have loved to hear just the neck humbucker on these S buckers, i kind of live on the neck. :)
Joel Bauman truly a godsend, by the sounds great demo as usual, you do justice to so many beautiful vintage and modern handcrafted instruments call might have to wait a month or so ..
Joel Bauman Just ordered the last kindered burst!! Can't wait to get it!! Joel, do you know if the custombucker "s" pickups are potted? And just curious if you know the specs... dc resistance of both bridge and neck?
Nice! You're going to love that guitar. That was legitimately the last Standard we had. As for our "S" pickups, I think they're potted. CB's usually are and these are a tweaked version of them. I've actually never opened them up to check to be honest with you. They sound sick either way, clean or dirty. Rate out at ~7.3k for both positions but always are perfectly balanced. Pretty sure they're Alnico III's as well. Hope that helps and enjoy the guitar!
Joel Bauman Thanks for the info! How many standards was there total in this collection? The highest serial number I saw on the site was 27, but thought that was kind of an odd number... just curious haha
"True Historic" is a modern Gibson term, not a literal description. It means these have the same specs as the LPs that were retailing for over $8K the last two years.
I can't believe it !!! ..... that 15th fret inlay ( 1:45 ) is a little ??? down of it's right position on the fretmarker !!!!. What else can I expect from Gibson ? Hidden glue .... and hidden flaws ???
So many comments by so many people who dont have a clue on what it takes to make a quality guitar or how much it costs so buy it if you like or do not buy one but first learn what it takes to make a quality guitar and then get back to me
jimmy played a 58 blonde aka Mary Kay strat on ten years gone. John Paul Jones acquired the guitar sometime back in the day and gave the guitar ( strat ) back to Page during the 02 London reunion formation. They did not play that song for the set list, eventhough Page used his mocha B bender telecaster live for ten years gone in past Zeppelin concerts.
Lots of people. We only have 4 left. $4K for legit old school spec Les Paul from the Custom Shop is more than reasonable. You can barely get a knockoff from a modern boutique company for anywhere close to that price. In my opinion, they're the best Les Pauls the modern Custom Shop has ever made.
Gibson has WAY too many LAps that are supposedly EXACTLY like the originals. They keep reinventing the same thing and market it to be the best, most authentic reproduction. For the record, I don't care for the sound of that guitar. If I did have $4,000, I wouldn't buy one.
Only $5,000.+ dollars! What a steal! Lol. Of course you'll probably need to polish and level the frets. Oh and change the tuners, oh and refinish the neck. Oh and reglue the broken neck. Totally worth $5,000.+ =D
not really, binding = no fret ends, unless it's poorly done, which the historics often aren't. the tuners are always fine, the finish is alright and the neck won't be broken unless you break it. the reason they're calling these a steal, is that the CMEs are some of the better historics around, and you can usually get them for 4 to 5 grand, instead of the 7+ grand that historics of this appearance and quality usually come. it's never a steal, but relatively speaking it is.
This Gibson bashing is getting a little old. If you hate Gibson why are watching this? I don’t play Fenders I just personally don’t like them. I think they are great guitars I just don’t like the way they feel. I also don’t go to fender videos and bash them. Grow up.
Got both of mine for less than that and holy hell are they fantastic! I would highly suggest people go this route instead of buying a regular Gibson Historic. The value is really there on these CME's.
this is an honest question: Do people who have 4 grand (and up) to spend on a guitar actually play shows like the rest of us? honest question, not trying to be facetious
Whoopty Doo. Who has that kind of money? Not me! lol. I'll just pick up my Agile 3010 or my LTD EC256 and pretend I'm playing a six or more thousand dollars guitar and be happy with what I have.
I'm cool with pickgaurds on a Les Paul, but why in the world would Gibson put that eye sore on it? Gibson Custom Shop guitars are 4k plus. Don't put stupid things on them. Unless it's just a sticker, but why would they put something that will leave a residue on it?
Ohhh goshh people with the stupid never ending complains... you better come up with something good. That silly lil sticker wont get you die. It's fixable like a boss in a less than a few minutes. phewwwwww... if you can afford buying that, you can even buy another 2,3 or 10 extra pickguard if you tend to keep the original harmless.. Wondering if you're kurt cobain fan or bieber :\
hahahaha dont take it personal, it's just me being sarcasm. i believe if you're a nirvana fan, you gotta be punk enough like kurt's to just smash the pickguard out if you hate it.. While bieber will baby his stuff just like a cute wannabe rocker.
I couldn't take things personal. Guitar nerds can be a very opinionated group of people. I've seen some crazy arguments about Rosewood vs Maple fretboards. BTW I am a huge Kurt Cobain fan. I don't even play Gibsons. I'm a Fender guy. Everyone I looked up to played Fenders. I can make the exception for Firebirds though. Firebirds are awesome.
I consider myself a vintage guitars, amps, pedals junkie and also a grunger, is it ok to you? dudeee, dont make me start.. not to brag but i'm super crazy when it came to guitar. Ive played various of guitar brand, modern/reissue/vintage for quite sometime. But let me tell ya, rosewood vs maple, nitro vs poly, alder vs basswood vs mahagony, short vs long scale.. IT'S FAIRLY COOL, eventhou it's stupid and repetitive in this guitar world. The contribution to the tone, soundwise, is always debatable.. but your curiousity about sticker? residue? just wipe it off with a lil zippo fluid and it's gone, no issue.
Looks great and cost a fortune but sounds like shit.Out of 10 custom shop les pauls you are lucky if you find one that sounds good. They are nothing like the"real"thing. The original 50,s les pauls had Honduras mahogany bodies and necks and Brazilien rosewood fingerboards a completely different sounding wood then what Gibson are using now.
Ten Years Gone, great intro man!

I agree. This Gibson bashing is getting old.
Those are killer guitars! Beside is like having a collector choice carmelita, i have a 58 and love it!
You never disappoint when doing these demos Joel, that is a great collection of Gibson's you have.

SUBSCRIBE & TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS TO NEVER MISS A CME GEAR DEMO!
I'll come in and take a look at them
Yes, online stuff sounds are not 100%, but, I’ll bet, on stores, this sound is perfect like this
Sounds really bright for sure. Funny, I always want my LPs to sound fatter.
i know i'm 6 years late to the party here, but i'm looking at a current CME les paul you have for sale, and i'd have loved to hear just the neck humbucker on these S buckers, i kind of live on the neck. :)
Andys cme custom green lemon is awesome
Do you have photos of all of them on your Web page? I see one in the back that I'm in love with. Nice playing Joel.
Thanks, Jerrold. And yes, all of these should be up on our website, though I'll warn you that we've already sold through 10 of them.
I discovered Nate from a Rick Beato video.
Has CME been keeping him?
Out of the bag now!
All those beautiful fade finishes.
I'd run someone's fade for one of these guitars
gay
wait this has an insane dynamic range
how are they released with these specs for 4700?
Joel Bauman truly a godsend, by the sounds

I like and i love les paul Gibson
I love les paul good bless gibson
Doesn't have a Brazilian board, Cellulose Nitrate inlays, or Royalite binding. "true historic". I still love the shit out of them..
"True Historic" is a modern Gibson term, not a literal description. It means these have the same specs as the LPs that were retailing for over $8K the last two years.
Tu3 - Polytune 2...
Comes in the pack?!
What are the slimmer neck ones he referred to called? (post link here, ha ha)
@5:14 How is he getting that tone? What settings should one use? Or is it really the quality amp that he is using?
That's the good ole sound of quality humbuckers into an amp with power tube distortion.
Wow!
is the audio amp audio clipping a bit?
Классные чертовки)))
What is he playing at 5:45?
Brazilian rosewood fingerboard O.o holy.......
I can't believe it !!! ..... that 15th fret inlay ( 1:45 ) is a little ??? down of it's right position on the fretmarker !!!!.
What else can I expect from Gibson ?
Hidden glue .... and hidden flaws ???
Poser
Damn! Thought it was Lieb Schrieber...
fuck the shitty gibsons THAT CARRRRRRR AMP IS SICK
So many comments by so many people who dont have a clue on what it takes to make a quality guitar or how much it costs so buy it if you like or do not buy one but first learn what it takes to make a quality guitar and then get back to me
what tuning is the guitar in at 5:47?
probably DADGAD
it very well could be! joel seems to be a big zeppelin fan so that wouldn't surprise me
Mark T It's Ten years gone, so it' standard tuning but drop the top down to D.

somebody can say me what Song is this?
Santhy Jaw ten years gone - led Zeppelin
The song remains the same, they're too expensive for me! But you guys are ten years gone when it comes to Led Zeppelin riffs XD

Slash just bought one, so now I know
I OWN 5
beautiful guitars, amp sounds really bad though

Can tell you obviously have never gotten your hands on one of these!
um let me guess $5000
4700 😂
this is an honest question: Do people who have 4 grand (and up) to spend on a guitar actually play shows like the rest of us?
honest question, not trying to be facetious
Darrien Day doubt it, but people can spend their money on whatever they want.
tru
Boomhauer Same, it's a hobby for me. I liked the feel of a Strat and a PRS I played and both were way north of 1k. If you can afford it then why not.
but would you do 4G's
Darrien Day I'm not going to rule it out. Maybe in the future for the right guitar.
Whoopty Doo. Who has that kind of money? Not me! lol. I'll just pick up my Agile 3010 or my LTD EC256 and pretend I'm playing a six or more thousand dollars guitar and be happy with what I have.
Too much talking - not enough playing. Let the guitars speak for themselves. We want to hear them for more than just 30-60s at a time.
I'm cool with pickgaurds on a Les Paul, but why in the world would Gibson put that eye sore on it? Gibson Custom Shop guitars are 4k plus. Don't put stupid things on them. Unless it's just a sticker, but why would they put something that will leave a residue on it?

JIMM JEMAN (NEERZANEYA) Completely fair and understandable argument up until the Beiber thing that part I don't understand.
hahahaha dont take it personal, it's just me being sarcasm. i believe if you're a nirvana fan, you gotta be punk enough like kurt's to just smash the pickguard out if you hate it.. While bieber will baby his stuff just like a cute wannabe rocker.
