I was lucky to see Yul Brenner on stage, in Chicago doing his role, that only he could do. The King and I . But, this movie was also well done.
The Yul Brynner King and I was for me upsetting because the King died at the end and to be honest Deborah Kerr's portrayal of Anna was over the top.
Brenner was perfect for the role.
He won both an Oscar and a Tony for the same role, two Tonys, I think. He definitely did something right. To be honest, I love Yul Brynner's performances, in the King and I, The Ten Commandments, Taras Bulba, the Magnificent Seven, Westworld, the man was a treasure, pure and simple.

He was a fucking moron in that version of the movie He was not even Asian the movie before that with Rex Harrison was even worse. He was white to. Come on it’s like when white people in movies tried to pass as Native American let. Make the movie believable. This Anna and the king did not happen in real life. Another made up movie far from what even happened. Anna had only met the king 4 time when she was living there a lot of bs
