Thank you. Realising that the watch could be opened with a flat, rather than cross-head screwdriver, and your information, has enabled me to revive a watch that has lain in a drawer for several years. Cost for 2 batteries £2.34 !! I'm highly delighted

AWESOME! VERY HELPFUL! Without this video I would have damaged the watch. Now it's all good. Only one screw does not fasten very hard, 3 are solid. Hope it's waterproof.
ALSO, WOW! 8 years? I wish mine lasts as much! Until now they lasted less than 2 years.

Wow. The specs online say the battery was rated to last 2 years and it lasted 8! With the radio reception turned on all the time?

Casio also says the battery on the DW5600E and DW6900 only last 2 years but I got 8 years from those two watches. Even when I replaced them the batteries where still at 2.4 volts.

Hi Frank. Thank you for the detailed instructions. Changed the battery and everything is working fine. I did have one question if you have a minute to reply: do you know the purpose of the silver spring close to one of the screws that attach the rear metal cover?

I think it adds contact to body so my guess it is a continuation of the circuit.
