I want a game like Hades but trying to escape the void.
I support this
THIS!!! I’ve always wanted a void roguelike where you play as Kassadin
@@Jambuscus720 Riot would probably rather do Kai'sa due to her popularity and the evolutions would work well
Or ur kassadin and trying to find your kaisa
something like ascending targon would work better imo
I would not be surprised if they just said "yeah she interrogated graves, he told her viego was imprisoned (or something else) for a while and she decided to go fight something else till viego was good to fight again", does nilah nor prefer to fight stroger stuff? so if fighting viego sounded boring she may as well wait
She will still fight viego. Watch the voli reveal, at the end of it Nilah heads to shadow isles.
@@angel-memeroftheislesthey're suggesting this is why she didn't go straight to Shadow isles from Bilgewater.
@@angel-memeroftheisles Viego is currently gwened in Camavor tho
@@stargazer_jay12so you know what that means! We're getting a first glimpse into camavore and the surrounding regions in an expansion! More draconic cards and maybe even a special skinline for viego and possibly an alternative skin for nilah if ashlash fully took control!
@@stargazer_jay12 and the one who sent him there, aka vex is still in the shadow isles
A deal that could be made between volibear and nilah could be along the lines of volibear remembering nilah as a hero challenging the almighty demigod. Having a being as ancient as volibear remember her name would be exactly what nilah would be gunning for.
While spreading stories of her fighting the demigod could potentially attract more followers for volibear himself, increasing his power.
It'd be a win-win.
But would either of their pride allow that?
She could be making a deal with Voli to help fight Viego
@@101shayminwhy would Volibear bother with fighting Viego? He’s an ancient demigod, in his eyes Viego is just a puny human. And imo right now Volibear would just wipe the floor with Viego if he decided to fight him, he wouldn’t need Nilah at all.
I think a draw where both realize that they aren’t winning and talk their way out of it, while not really fitting their character, would be one of the most likely explanations why both survived their encounter.
@@lividlarry1026 Volibear might beat his ass in a 1v1 but that isn't where Viego's power lies, Napoleon wasn't the greatest general in europe because he could beat up every other general at the time. Viego could pose a threat to Voli which would probably be enough for Voli to use his brain.
@@johannesmattsson9900 I want to agree, but there are very few scenarios where I could see Volibear using his brain. It's almost antithetical to his beliefs. Why would he waste time thinking and worrying about a problem that, from his perspective, is beneath him? "The weak plot and scheme, the strong thunder! Let him come! He will be met with tooth and claw! Furry and Lightning!" That's how I imagine he'd respond to such a notion. Maybe if Nilah fought him to a stalemate for a while she might earn enough respect that he'd be willing to listen to what she has to say and maybe even help her in some small way, but I can't see him truly allying with her. I _could_ see Volibear momentarily setting his crusade aside and working together with the other old gods to stop something like the emergence of The Watchers, but I don't think Viego registers as a Watcher-level threat in Valhir's mind. Of course, while he may have been right during the Ruination, the very nature of Viego's power makes him an unquantifiable threat. He scales exponentially and by the time he's dangerous enough for Valhir to respect him, it'd probably already be too late. So given all that, I understand why Nilah wants to do away with him once and for all and not give him the chance for a second coming but I don't think that's where Veigo's story is going. I think the only reason to keep him 'alive', narratively speaking, is so he can be used again in a future plot line. And since he kinda already tried and failed with the whole taking over the world thing I doubt Riot's gonna do that again, so I think he's gonna be a secret trump card during the real invasion of the void or awakening of the watchers or maybe even the celestial war between Asol and Targon that's coming _eventually._
I have a head-canon that Volibear can exist in both his thunder and eldritch forms depending on who summons him, or who he's receiving the majority of his power/ worship from. Just seems cooler to me that a Freljordian demigod can be warped by what they receive their powers from. It also makes more sense for Voli than someone like Ornn. Voli seems to want power and doesn't care where it comes from, strength is all that matters. But Ornn seems quite comfortable with who he is and if worshippers were to try and mould him into something else, he would probably grumpily decline.
you seen the comics where Ash and Sej running away from the storm? He got a lot of forms seems like a mindfuck thing but every Spirit God maybe can have any form to whatever who believe exists at the same time
The fight must have been un-bearable
great pun 10/10
Damn nilah is lucky Voli didnt tear her with his BEAR hands
Nah it was bearly interesting
Not even Nilah laughed at this one
she bearly beat him
Funnily enough, Ashlash is the one being that could permanently end Volibear (or any of the other Freljordian gods). Since they gain strength from worship, that is also their weakness, and if Ashlash erased Volibear's names/existence from history, no one would remember him nor worship him, and Volibear would simply weaken more and more until he disappears.
Considering the Volibear existed and did battle with Rhond (taking that story literally, ofc) before any humans made it to the Freljord and would have been able to tell stories about it, he would probably still be around if nobody worshipped him. Especially since the gods of the Freljord seem to go by many many names. Iirc one of his League quotes confirms that no mortal actually knows his name.
@@doomdoot6731Exactly.
Ashlash: Your name will be forever forgotten, Volibear!”
Volibear: Bitch, I got 69 more names!
Volibear was born way before humanity, and even with no humans worshipping him, he fought against a beast or another god, a giant magma snake, and killed him/her, creating one of the first or the first river of Runeterra. Ornn fought against the Runeterra itself with no humans's worship and did what he did. As he once said "Gods don't need humans, humans need gods." They don't need to be worshiped to be stronger or exist, at least as we know for now, they've made their names and feats without humans's help. And even though Ashlesh may be strong enough to beat Volibear or another Frerijordian god, Nillah is still human and has her limitations as one.
No human knows the true name of Volibear, he is called by many.
-"Valhir, Volibear, my name is my own".
If I'm not mistaken that's what he says in one of his quotes.
I thought that Nilah already knew where Viego was when she interrogated Graves. In the short story she mentions "the little present they left on her shores. Viego of Camavor.". She asks him about where she can find the Sentinels that defeated Viego, not where to find him.
(If there are weird spelling errors I'm sorry, english is not my first language).
No spelling errors you are great at English! Good job honestly, also you might be right that Nilah was going to find the Sentinels other then Viego but she was definitely going to beat Viego's ass one way or another hahah
SO I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE?? I'm not the only one frustrated at LoR writing Runeterra Fanfiction, and reducing Volibear into just a big monster for Nilah to fight, and breaking the thematic cycle set by the other demigods?? I thought I was going actually insane
I think the Valhir Prophet could also be a former follower of Anivia because of her headpiece, much like the Flamecaller Caprine was a former Ornn follower
You seem to be right
"We did right, sister, in forsaking Valhir's kin" -Valhir Prophet to Flamecaller Caprine
Some observations: In the Nilah short story, she goes to bilgewater to discover why the sentinels of light inprision viego in alovedra. And about the Volibear, this Voli is just an avatar he use to walk in the mortal realm. In the short story he states to udyr that he will be reborn. So, in the legends of runeterra the volibear that Nilah is fighting is the reborn form.
I don't see the issue with Nilah's story. She crossed the world to fight the Ruined King only to be told that he got defanged and sealed away back where she just came from, and that if he ever breaks out he's probably coming back to Valoran for revenge. Why would she 180 and go back home when she could stick around and fight the monters of these regions, making a name for herself in this part of the world as well.
Ok, but why Volibear? If she was willing to defeat the monsters, she could've fought against The Void
@@diegocifuentes6784the volibear is much more famous than the void and even if he wasnt why not lmao
Ok, but why NOT Volibear?@@diegocifuentes6784
@@diegocifuentes6784 Because most of the big Void monsters are within the Void itself, which in itself is a very very dangerous place that only a small few know the monsters of legends there which results in little reward in Nilah's eyes. She is here to be remembered, if what she kills few know about then there is few to remember her for that deed.
The Freljord is less dangerous of a environment than the Void is, and not only does the entirety of the Freljordians know of Volibear but there has to be at least some Demacians that had heard of him from the Freljordians as well.
@@diegocifuentes6784 The void creatures are just monsters, Volibear is a god. He'd sound a lot more impressive on a list of things you've beaten.
Nilah is like a badger, she picks fights that she can't win and always manages to survive and makes her foes remember her.
I think she’s going to the shadow isles to find vex because she worked for Viego, she can take bandle city and shadow isles as regions, leaving the last two regions available since we know we’re only getting three champs for the end of the year, and there was a leaked deathless keyword that could apply to Karthas but i think could also apply to her
That'd be confirmed by the fact that in the end of Voli's reveal we saw Nilah head to SI
@@angel-memeroftheisles yeah, so I think it’s either karthas (which a lot of people think because of the deathless leaked keyword), or vex, and I just think she makes more sense
@@showd6229 My thought is Yorick. If it is a similar journey to this set, then the first stop on the journey is an ally like Janna was.
Your theory about flamecaller being hearthblood has another thing supporting it which you didn't mention, that being that she literally has ornn-like horns with his colors and shape, just smaller.
the thing about volibear gaining power from worshippers is confusing though, the demigods existed before the mortals apparently and they were already mighty and powerful, I mean Volibear defeated a mountain-sized lava snake before any mortals stepped on the freljord?
Maybe he was powerful before and worship gives him even more power.
they were changed to being spirit gods
I'm guessing their power wanes with age, and worship is the only way to stop or reverse that decline.
My theory is that... The Demigods relies on the number of souls who worship/practices their ideology. Before humans existed, Vorrijaard and maybe Runeterra was all but wilderness and there is a pool of souls in the world in the form of wild animals. These wild animals are what empowers Valhir, which is in line of the Ursines being able to still be considered as a worshipper. You know, they look like the kind of organism that cannot think and for who knows are they even capable of praying.
It could just be one of the tales that helped inspire belief and will volibear into actual existence
Do NOT face Volibear alone when Astral projecting.
Today while astral projecting I summoned Volibear to try and weaken him so the Freljord would be safer.
He is so fucking powerful. I'm not at a power level to do this alone. I barely escaped with my life and I'm spiritually injured to a great amount, but I think I'll make it.
I can't imagine what he would do to a new, unsuspecting fighter. I'm scared that I will have to face him again soon if I ever want to continue astral projecting. I'm currently burning healing incense and drawing spiritual energy from my crystals to try and heal as quickly as possible.
Please be safe everyone. Volibear is much stronger than I first imagined and we will have to do this together if we want to slay a god.
Nilah going to the shadowisles is great, because the only chmapion left in si thats not already a lor champ is Yorick so we might finally get some Yorick lore. Maybe he tells Nilah where Viego is and what happend during the Ruination. (And maybe where he was during it)
Well, Karthus. And Vex. But I also think Yorick has a good chance.
Vex and Karthus say hi
Karthus is way more probable considering he already has cards in the game
My guess is thay the Volibear defeated Nilah and claimed her ship, and now he is sailing to the Shadow Isles. So Captain Volibear next skin confirmed, trust me bro 😂
We need a Viking Volibear!
I thought the devs said that everything in LoR was canon, including splash art?
lor manages to give us even more setups with no payoff than league
9:53 I wouldn't be surprised if she was morphed by Ornn's faith (not unlike Volibear's minions) and after that she changed sides. She does seem to have something resembling horns that even look like Ornn' already.
I mean, considering the Earth is round, her journey wasn't really that long
To be frank, I care little for what is canon and what is not at this point. Even if they confirm that not a single thing in LoR is canon, it is still the best place to get a feel of Runeterra, as in this game the character actually DO stuff.
Never cheered this much for someone (Nilah) to lose
This quest to kill volibear for absolute no reason got to be the pinnacle of arrogance
6:25 could be Lissandra's rune from before the Watchers arrived.
Nilah honestly feels like someone's self-insert OC where they're so OP and can't be beat by anything. XP
There are already people like that in league tbh dozens , why you think there all champions !
asol, bel'veth, mordekaiser, jax, aatrox, kayn, zed, jhin, practically all noxus characters looks like a self-insert oc lol
@@Crocthunder yeah but they're gods and stuff. It's like if Lee sin or Caitlyn or Graves were made into this super broken dude who can kill gods. I can imagine Nilah being very very strong for human standards, but beating an ancient god, and alone? nah I can't suspend my disbelief unless Ashlash does something, because right now Nilah doesn't have enough power, not even close
I think the reason they couldn't conclude either Nilah or Volibear winning is to "not upset" any of their fans. But personally, I think the Volibear wins. What's a "great demon" to a literal ancient demigod anyway?
Even if Ashlesh is stupid powerful, they are limited due to a mortal vessel
Emm great demon Lords are her fiddle and some we dont know, they are existences close to aurelion, volii stands no chance vs the demon but i dont know how much power nilah holds
Not every fight is about power scaling.
lmao the 10 demon lords would eat volibear
@@adiedadielike who? Camphor? Fiddlesticks? Evelynn? Demons are just fiends while volibear controls a whole domain, and is the god of a land. Volibear is divorced from any human concept of power, he is immensely powerful
We can just assume both happened in various durations
At this point lor is just a bunch of fanfics
Actually, I think the frostguard rune, IS the frejorildian rune, but not from legends of runeterra, no, I think it’s the one from TFT
Played it so much I think I recognize it on sight
Only problem is how the hell she can fight Volibear? Literal demigod and look at the size difference. Even if Volibear just farted towards Nilah, she would feel it as thunder storm and get destroyed.
the rune you said you first thought was the frost guard rune but realized it wasn't is the symbol for the Freljord from TFT.
Maybe Nilah got sent to the Freljord to fight Volibear because of some Ashlesh's ultiriour motives. Could be that the demon knows about Volibear and persuaded Nilah to slay him...
Makes you wonder if the worshipper of Ornn who instead turned to Volibear had the same happen to her as what happened to the ursine. Believe in Ornn long enough and slowly you start to turn into him too hence the horns. Just nothing as major since Ornn doesn't actually actively do anything like it. Volibear is just so intense with him it progresses way faster or something.
I agree that LoR has always been really good about exploring the Universe, now if only there was something, maybe like a site, that allowed you to explore it on your own, maybe with some short stories and place markers that would be cool especially if it was constantly updated by clever writers.
I think that because of how orn is and operates, unlike volibear, his powers will not weaken without worship, or at least still remain considerable even without followers.
there’s a theory that ornn died or was fading after all his followers were wiped out, clinging on through tales before basically get worshipped back to existence by the newly rekindled hearthblood.
So the demigods can change their shapes from the way their followers worship them and Voliber was going to get changed because in lore people worshiped him as a monster but It staid as a flufy polar bear because the people that played Voli in the game liked him that way
In lore worshipers < IRL players
The Rune you talked about looking like the rune of the Frostguard is on the challenge "ARAM Authority" idk why tho
What if Nilah was seeking allies to cleanse or rid the Isles of the horror that its become? Trying to undo what Viego did, take out some his more powerful allies, or go after something much worse there(if we get a LoR exclusive champion card) that's a new threat
Come on it's obvious! Nilah needs creatures to break the mists of the Shadow Isles! First Janna then the Volibear!!!
5:46 - Val'H'ir, not Valir.
3:31 I can imagine Volibear beeing a big boss in Riot's future MMORPG. The player beeing the size of Nilah and dodging attacks sent from Volibear on a big platform around him.
my headcanon was that Graves didn't want to tell her where viego was but wanted to get her as far away from him as possible so he lead her to the harsh climate place
The Volibrears and Rhond battle has to be a reference to the Thors battle with Jormungandr
You know what should happen? Udyr should arrive just in time to join her on the fight , obviously they wouldn't really win anyway, but they showed worthy to the Volibear and that gives us some lesson about power and control 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The demon in her is way stronger then voli but i dont know how strong nilah is
@@torii7363 her demon is stronger but Nilah is just the vessel borrowing a bit of its power. This is Nilah vs Voli not Ashlash vs Voli
9:00 Her horns also look similar to those of Ornn, so it might be that because she was previously a follower of Ornn that she has certain ram features instead of mostly ursine.
The other Ornn worshipers don't turn into rams though
Necrit:there has to be some kind of an outcome
Meanwhile jax and fiora waiting for like 5 years on the bridge
You missed that the cards do indeed show Nilah traveling to the Freljord. You can see her crew's boats near Zaun in the art for Exalted Cloudwinder, the Iascilla card is in fact a PnZ card, the level 2 Janna art depicts her fighting that creature as well, the interactions between Janna and Nilah point to them helping each other, and the reveal teasers were all about Nilah doing the journey through PnZ to get to Freljord.
Thousand-pierced bear no longer cannon? It's over
9:30 funny how he mentions the red eyes which might show a connection to Ornns followers
but he didnt mention the horns at all xD the horns that look just like Ornns horns - black horns with red rune-like details
I think her fighting Volibear is fine, as long as they add in a good reason for her to do so, that isn't she just " she wanted to", since she has alternate obligations.
For the fight with Volibear itself, she shouldn't be able to beat him in anyway. I think it should be a good struggle, but Volibear would always win the fight. But he would be impressed by her prowess, and would give her a clue into what she must do next. Volibear could even tell her about Vex, since Vex did travel to the Freljord in the SoL story. Of course Volibear should get something out of their exchange too, so maybe Nilah agrees to worship Volibear, in a sense, to give him more power.
I don't think you understand Nilah then. She doesn't give a flying f*ck about other reasons. As long as you are a famous strong mighty beast then that's good enough reason for her. If her name will become associated with the "ONE" who slayed the beast in question that's all she could ask for.
Then she deserves to lose and learn humility @@arcadeleviathan619
@@GoldenHue Fr, imagine she just goes ahead and kills a god. Would be so stupid
She literally cant feel anything but joy how are you guys complaining not even know her lore . @@GoldenHue
The problem is that Nilah is a mary-sue who only ever feels joy. By her own lore, she is unable to ever lose, so the only option is for her to win this fight, regardless of how much damage that causes to anything. And honestly, she is EXACTLY the sort of person who would challenge a demigod like Voli for no other reason than "because she wanted to". She's also the sort who would never agree to worship Voli because she has only two real loyalties, the first being to her demon and the second to her limitless ego, and to worship Voli would be to acknowledge in some, even small way, that he is greater than her.
The Thousand Pierced Bear is such a badass name.
Okay but why? And I'm sure they'll make her win just because
I don't think so
I mean, Ashlesh is kind of a big deal. If anything can defeat gods, might as well be an unholy abomination of an empty shell and a traces of pure joy.
Ashlesh is stronk
But like, does Nilah really have access Ashlesh's full power?
@@pyroteknikk3127 i belive she has acess to 10% of Ashlash's power
there's also the con versations between the prophetess and Caprine talking about how it was a great idea to leave Orm for the Volibear.
it is like legend of runeterra is the lore teller of what is happening on the inside world of legend
i am so sad there is no voice line with ornn and voli or the flamecaller. anivia also has non. i am happy we got so many voice lines for stuff but at least last expansion the champs have interactions with cards other than the ones that came out in that expansion.
I wonder how a Nilah X Ashlash unleashed hybrid. (Yes, she would die in this form, but im just speaking "what ifs?" )
It must look cool as hell... Before the demon form destroys her mortal shell
Well if she wins then she is gonna become the mary sue or op self insert with the power of protagonist literally. Her character and lore are so just "wah she's so powerful she beats demon and god! Joy!" Even the price she paid, she simply brush it off and just embrace joy!
Could this be setting up raid boss lore for the mmo as well?
Nilah just unlocked fast travel. they don't want you to think to logically
12:07 that kinda reminds me of the fight between a rubber man turning god against a gigantic dragon man
This was a really bear bones event. Truly Bearen.
9:20 the horns are red means she is a "ursine" of Ornn
Change bear features with horns and red

i got those same pants on. they mad cozy
Volibear: I am the storm!
Me: That is approaching?
Has anyone else noticed that in Nilah's splash art she's holding a weapon that looks very similar to the design of the Serylda's Grudge item icon? So maybe her trip to the Freljord is plausible after all?
I wouldn't be surprised if this happened before the Ruination; Nilah goes to the Shadow Isles to fight Viego but finds about what happened and goes to look for the Sentinels.
you gotta love how necrit always say "valley" as "volley"
Which makes the demigod "Valleybear" 😅
I see it coming... Nilah releasing one of the frozen watchers only to get killed and then the end of reality happening. Lore end
Nilah: If the magic sealing viego becomes undone, which is currently happening because it's fading slowly, his ruination may stir the primordial demons and wake the 10 forgotten lords, a literal apocalyptic event. Anyway, off to freljord to fight voli!
I mean in pokemon terms, a ice/electric vs water/fighting is a pretty interesting matchup
If Nilah accomplishes amazing deeds and is indeed remembered as a Hero after her passing, could she manifest as a Spirit? I assume people will start worshipping her accomplishments as rituals and perhaps seek solitude as new ones emerge?
According to her lore, apparently her soul would be owned by Ashlesh for eternity
Rhond the magma serpant, Magma Chamber confirmed.
I like voli being different each time based on who calls for him.
FYI: It was a draw .. JG arrived to assist ~ 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah i don't see her wining a fight against a guy who could shred continents with his claws.
Luckily for her, she literally uses something with as much power, if not more, as her weapon of choice.
She has also already slain demigods and Volibear is currently weak because not many people worship him anymore.
@excalibursonic32 What kind of demon does she have, and how much of a chance do you give her to win this?
6:18 that is the rune that represents freljord in TFT
Me just staring at Necrit's japanese cat tshirt. ❤
Iam sad that u did not mention valhir prophet voice line with fire girl :D it probably the most bad ass twist of event possibly. I hope it wont be just left out as a flavour
I like to think that Nilah now going to the Shadow Isles it's because Volibear smacked her so hard he sent her flying all across Runeterra.
You can now play the flying meme music
what im guessing here is that, nilah figured out that viego is not as strong after the event, went after volibear instead and after for some reason unsatisfying outcome between her fight against voli, Nilah went ahead to shadow isle to free viego and do some good old 1v1, except that this time viego is unwilling and purpose of life is shattered when even her queen herself didnt want his love so instead told nilah to let her be and told her that thresh is the one who now controls the mists and thats where nilah is yet again in the voyage to find thresh and kill him.
It just took u a few seconds, to emphasize once again how gigachad ornn is
Oh so Nilah is going to fight The Volibear?
Well, RIP guess we'll never see Nilah again

Nilah enjoys a good fight and Viego is currently unable to fight. So she's not interested for now. Simple.
Alternatively, who's to say this didn't happen before she sought out Viego?
She 100% lost to Volibear, probably had to retreat due to the treat against her party
