Have you checked the "Mayfair Witches" series by Anne Rice? I haven't read them but since it's from the author of "Interview with the Vampire" it might be nice?

I am currently reading "Wildwood Whispers" by Willa Reece. The cover says A heartwarming tale of Hope, Fate, and Folk Magic unfolds in a sleepy town nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. Also Weyward by Emilia Hart. I have never read Alice Hoffman but they sound really good.

I absolutely love The Practical Magic series and feel each book gets better and better. Although I don’t usually cry with books, The Book of Magic(last book) had me tearing up at the end.
Another wonderful book is The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. It’s quite the hefty read at over 900 pages but well worth the time investment.
Thanks for the video. I love adding more witchy books to my TBR!🧙

This has been fantastic and I’ve noted several I want to read. One I read years ago is The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe. I’ve forgotten some of the plot, but I remember how much I loved it. It’s dual timeline, one being in the time of the Salem Witch Trials.

Definitely need to look for The House Witch - sounds good, and you mentioning it being part of series - I'm in!! Have you read "Can't Spell Treason without Tea"? not sure if it was recommended to me by you or someone else- recently picked it up but haven't read it yet.

Two witchy books on my TBR right now (start reading in the Fall?) are: "In Defense of Witches" by Mona Chollett & "The Witch In The Well" by Camilla Bruce. Thank you for your recommendations. There are a couple that I can now add to my list.

I watched the first season of Discovery of Witches and it was a mixed bag for me. The good: the chemistry of the leads and the cinematography. The bad: some of the writing and the continuous feeling some things were left unexplained or glossed over. Thanks for the recommendations; one can never have too many witchy books!

I have read Circe, A Discovery of Witches, Winternight trilogy, Practical Magic, and Rules of Magic. I love Circe and A Discovery of Witches, but after reading Practical Magic a second time it was a disappointment to me. I love the adaptation, though. I also loved Winternight trilogy. I have the two seasons of A Discovery of Witches and I thought the first season it was great.

I watched 1 and a half seasons of "A discovery of witches" and dropped it. The scenery is beautiful, absolutely amazing filmig locations, and I could tell that the story is also very good (I haven't read the book) but something happened there in the directing room.... it just felt like it was directed by an amature... such a pity😢

I do a home haunt for Halloween and our town so that we can interact with the town in a fun way, and because of that I got on Facebook Halloween groups. Apparently because we like Halloween, Facebook algorithm was like “oh then you’re going to like witch groups, here you go!” 😂. Curiosity got the better of me, so I bit the bait. At first I just giggled a bit at some of the stuff that I saw because, come on-you really think you can make things happen by speaking some words and burning some incense??? But the longer that I read there the more that I realized that a) most of these people are not evil by any stretch of the imagination and b) they do no harm (most of them, there are a few bad people in any demographic there is) and c) a lot of what they do operates almost like a prayer and manifesting their dreams is nothing but wishing hard and focusing on what they want or need-again almost like a prayer. Some of the rituals are almost like those at different churches, and let’s be honest here that most religions have some overlap on practices anyway. So much of what I see is one calling the same thing by a different name. I’m starting to like some of the practices because it relies a lot on our own power to accomplish things ourselves, which can lead to us focusing and working harder to achieve those things. It’s almost like a vision board, a life dream journal, a list of things we want to accomplish in our life. Things of that nature. Except the rituals are interesting and dramatic and make you feel powerful and like you can do these things if you try. I can’t think of a way that is bad or wrong. It just isn’t, it’s helpful if anything. I was also surprised at the amount of Christian witches that were in the groups. They are of the opinion that the craft isn’t a religion, it’s a craft only. No different than making herbal remedies (they have some good ones!), or hand crafting anything else for that matter. It’s something you work on with your hands. Anyway I’ve become interested in certain parts of it as a useful tool in life to help myself work towards things, and also as a way to incorporate healing plants into my home garden. It’s just cool. I like it, and now I love reading witch books. Thanks for the recommendations. I recently read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and it was an absolute hug of a book, so cozy and happy and sweet. I’m currently listening to A Secret History of Witches on Spotify, if you pay for premium they have a ton of podcasts and audiobooks you can listen to for free that come with premium. There is a good selection of witchcraft books on there for anyone interested in finding out more about it, or reading fiction stories on it.
