The Once and Future Witches is a wonderful book that I highly recommend. That said, "fun" is absolutely not a description of this book. The theme is about healing deep trauma that has collectively scared every woman. The sisters suffered trauma as children that divided them. Their reunion wasn't happy. They had to uncover a heal deep pain in order to work together. The violence that resolves the story is difficult, painful, to read. I cried bitter tears reading this book. Cleansing and healing, but not gun. I loved this book. Read this book, but be prepared for some very difficult emotions. There is nothing cozy about this beautiful story.
I suppose you are right. I do find the magick fun and inspiring. The struggle and triumph are difficult thematic units...
@lesacotto5188 I agree. I read this book too and "fun" or "cozy" are not words I'd use to describe it. In fact, I had a hard time getting through it and didn't finish.
I very much agree about buying used books when available. Most of mine are used and if I have any books (hard copy or audiobook), that didn't resonate with me, I sell them to a used book store or donate to the library.
📖 Tarot Apothecary sounds right up my alley. I have a black thumb, so the plant spirits told me to work with essential oils.

It’s called The Witch at the Forest’s Edge by Christine Grace and it’s based on the author’s curriculum for her own Tradition. It’s sort of a beginner book but I feel like it really aligns with your own values as a druid and folk witch. ♥️

I loved hearing your take on the 7 very different witchcraft books. In my early years, I enjoyed some of Scott Cunningham's books and derived comfort from two in particular: (1) Wicca A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner; (2) The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews. The rituals were usable and practical, and I enjoyed making things like Temple Incense, Pisces Oil, Protection Oil, Love Tincture, and Earth Bath, to name a few. I've just ordered a copy of the Magical Household to add to my library. Thanks, Wen

📚 I would say Aidan Wachters first book Six Ways and third book Changeling have DEFINITELY inspired my craft.

@@naturalwitchery One I am reading right now is Witchcraft Therapy. Just a full on, honest way to embrace the suck, take my power back & gain balance within &I without. Every section has a nice, simple spell with easily accessible supplies. It is helping a lot. Can't wait to read some from your list!! Hope that you're finding calm & peace as you journey forward.
Scott Cunningham passed away a while ago! But his books still inspire me to this day!!!

Some books that I’ve enjoyed: Hagitude by Sharon Blackie (non-fiction, excellent feminist perspective, cronehood), Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman (fiction, the origin story of Practical Magic), Bohemian Magick by Veronica Varlow (non-fiction, a really upbeat lust-for-life invitation to her practice based on her grandmother’s magick), and New Moon Magic by Risa Dickens and Amy Torok (non-fiction, excellent examples of activism for socially conscious witches).😢
