Had a neighbor do something similar, but instead, he bought two of them for like 12k each and slapped them together. The extra one is a bedroom with a restroom and shower, the top serves for storage. The first one is basically the same thing as this one, but the ladder going up has a washer dryer combo instead, and the top is sealed. So the top is also more storage, but it connects to the other top of the other building he bought. So it has everything he needs. Total it cost jim about 30k to get everything he needs, and he built it himself. With 20k, he bought a high output solar system and dug a deep well. The solar power powers the pump, heats the water, and it powers the entire home, and he has a lot of power left over he doesn't use. The sewage runs to the back into a ditch that runs into the city sewage. He got 10 acres for 50k and aoend like 50k to have a full self-sufficient home. The only bill he pays is just his phone, truck note, and internet. Keep in mind he did this all himself, so it will cost another 20k if you pay someone to do everything he did.
@@devoff7014 he did it under the rug to avoid city taxes so he never posted anything. They need to make these more of a thing. There's people that don't need much and it's effective
I just wanted to say that after seeing you on Dragon's Den, I was incredibly moved at the personal challenges which you, your wife and family have endured, and risen from. What a beacon of hope you are to all who have weathered any type of deep loss. Sending you sincere best wishes for a very happy 2024. 🎉❤🎉
The way u guys are about family and helping the community, and Ronald Mac Donald house is absolutely amazing ! One proud company! And the hard work and decor is stunning!
The materials used and whole design is great :) ...you have allowed ample room for so many uses and personal touches. Awesome job, & thanks for the detailed tour.
I appreciate your kind words! I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the design and attention to detail. The versatility and potential for personal touches are indeed important aspects of such spaces to create a meaningful connections.
It's fantastic that you're exploring the possibilities and sketching layouts! The loft space in bunkies indeed offers great potential for creative and efficient use. We'd love to do collaboration with you in the future!
I would love a video with it set up for tires, bicycle & garden storage with stainless steel racks and a seating area. That's what we would use it for.
Beautiful! Do any bunkies come with complete bathrooms? Can they be winterized to live in full-time during Manitoba's fridgid weather of -38 or colder? Thanks 🤗👋
You could add a bathroom and you'd need to add some serious insulation to be fully Manitoba compliant during the dead of winter (It'd be fine for 3 seasons though)
The loft area in a bunkie can indeed add a wonderful dimension to the available space. It's a versatile and cozy space that can be used for various purposes. Whether it's for sleeping, storage, or even a cozy reading nook, the loft area adds a lot of potential. I'm glad you appreciate it!
We have one of these on order for this summer - I’m curious what products and colours were used to stain the walls and trim. Also, is the floor the standard boards stained, or an upgraded material? Thanks!
I see kilotons of potential. First, add a small bathroom and maybe trade the ladder for spiral stairs. Of course, a bathroom would take up around 1/6 to a quarter of the space on the first floor (should it be a full bath), but given that the second floor provides an extra 120sqft/10.8sqm, this level could serve as the main living and bedroom.
Thank you for your ideas! Adding a small bathroom and spiral stairs are great suggestions that could enhance the Bunkie experience. The extra space on the second floor could definitely be utilized for a cozy living area or bedroom. We're always interested in feedback and possibilities for improvement.
I designed and built what I called microhomes years before I heard the term “tiny house.” This is a nifty structure but I see ways to make it even better. Do you want to hear my suggestions?
I would like to get one of these for a bachelor living, idk about getting it hooked up to in town hydro, but I'd like to find an alternative to setting up an off grid type power source
Our Bunkies can be a great option for bachelor living! For off-grid power solutions, many customers explore options like solar panels or generators. If you’re looking to connect to town hydro, we have resources to help with that too. Check out bunkielife.com for more info!
Great question! While corner beams can provide additional support, our Bunkies are designed to be sturdy without them. However, if you'd like extra reinforcement, adding corner beams can be a simple solution.

Any chance ALL the finishes you used inside and out are listed anywhere? Beam stain, white wash stain? Exterior blue and black paints? Brands would be great please.
I have 4 kids and we have really enjoyed our camper but thinking about upgrading. What's the height of the side walls in the loft? I am wondering if i could do twin bunks on each wall making 4 kids beds upstairs and a hide a bed on the main floor for mom and dad.
How much does it cost to finance this Bunkie? Also is there any other options for the latter? I only ask because I have a dog that I’m sure we fall trying to climb that lol. He isn’t old but it looks pretty steep
I love this I'm already packed down and I hope to win as I need to go back east to be near my dad...and helpmy stepmother tske care of her mom and they own craft store massive exposire to market and share with ppl around canada and workd nd heal my soul with the sea again. Help me get home to my new bunkie 🤞 luck kf the draw I know I'm just making intention in universe as I'd love to film my show in there and podcast help bunkie world grow

This is exactly what I want to do honestly lol. With this market it would be so worth it instead of renting.
Does he have a public instagram page or anything? I'd love to see his design layout.

Would like to get his email contact, such a great build idea with two units together and storage too!

Had to share this with my mom. We have been talking about this for years. She really liked it.
We keep sketching the possibilities with this for a layout that works. So much potential with that loft size!

I'm thrilled to hear that you love the bunkie so much! It sounds like it resonates with your tastes and preferences.
Loving these bunkies , so beautiful and purposeful
Thanks! We’re glad you love the Haven Ultra-it’s a dream come true for many of our clients.
Nice tour, thank you Dave!

Wow, such a beautiful Bunkie! 🤗🇨🇦
Beautiful place, surprisingly roomie.

This bunkie is amazing ❤❤

This is an awesome design!
I'm glad you think so! Bunkies often feature creative and efficient designs to make the most of the available space.
Great bunkie! Hope all is going, David!
I appreciate the compliment!
So Beautiful! ❤
Great compact design, love it.
Do you ever do a stair instead of ladder?
Awe 🥺🌳💚 I'd call it "Peaceful Easy Feeling" of I won it 💚
I would love a video with it set up for tires, bicycle & garden storage with stainless steel racks and a seating area. That's what we would use it for.
A sky light hatch door to a small roof deck would be an awesome feature!
That’s a fantastic idea! We love hearing creative suggestions like this-it would add so much charm and practicality to the design!
Beautiful design
My hubby and i would love this dream cabin for our property some day!! 😍

I love this! The only thing I would do differently, is to put the door and window grids, on the inside.
At 65, i have no business climbing a ladder for the rest of my life. Bunkies are cute though.
looking forward to the Live event tonight
Just wonderful dream to have = win 🏆
beautiful!
Wish we lived closer so we could pop by.😊
Love the space available with the loft area

love it!
Love this!
12:58 Jan. 12,2024 they are awsome. Can't wait to own one for our daughter.
I love this model. I noticed some bunkies have mini wood burning stoves. Is that an extra you sell or something you have to get later?
We don't sell them directly, but other folks do, cubicminiwoodstoves.com is a great canadian made option.
These are nice bunkies to own
Another option would be a diesel heater. I use one at my wee “cabin”, and it is great!
All I can say is....."OMG I'm in love"
This is all I need.
Love it!
Wowza this is charming
It's wonderful. I just entered the contest to win. I would love to have one of these.
That's fantastic! Best of luck in the contest-I hope your entry brings you the opportunity to enjoy and make use of a wonderful bunkie.

For a bathroom, consuder building a separate, attached "bath/shower house, using a composting toilet & hot water on demand, propane heated water tank.
Very nice

beautiful. on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard to get a king size mattress up that staircase?🙂
Wouldn't be easy unless you 1) Think ahead prior to completion or 2) bring up a "bed in a box" solution like @havensleepco
Bunker dream
It doesn't look to be insulated, is there an option for this, or am I missing something? Canadian winters are brutal.
Yes, check out bunkielife.com/how-to-insulate-bunkie/ for insulation ideas
This model is by far my favourite style of your bunkies! Love the decor too! Might need to copy it when I win this on January 28!! 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
:)

Can you combine two of these ?
I am curious about the heating system?

The side walls of the haven loft aren't tall enough for a bunk bed. You can fit 3 twin mattresses quite easily upstairs though.
Is there a bathroom?
NICE
This is James Nightingale btw

Financing depends on your credit, see bunkielife.com/financing for some options. Yes, other options exist (some clients have done little staircases)

Can the bunkies have bathrooms? Also it's 2024 not 2023.
Yes, it can have :) Lots of clients have added little bathrooms into their bunkies
I literally have nothing except some clothes on my back...ove been homeless for 6 months now. Where the bathroom??
No bathroom unless you put in a composting toilet or water with a septic
I'd never hate you David, but please pick my name in your bunkie draw 😉😃😃😅😅
We'd love to do that for everyone! Best of luck!
Squeaky window eh
:)
where do I shit?
In the woods!!😂
Tight .... easier to frame a cabin
