Your complete bunkie tour showcases an impressive feat of off-grid living, equipped with 1800 watts solar power, a 3kW battery, 5000 BTU AC, plumbing, wiring, and furnishings. Your dedication to sustainable living and meticulous planning are truly commendable. It's inspiring to see your vision come to life with such efficiency and practicality. And I am a floating village life from Vietnam.
Wow! I watched the original video with CP, and you put a ton of work into it since then (esp like the Thompson's and silicone cuz I wouldn't want bugs up in there either). Your skillset and knowledge is very impressive! This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to learn to survive the craziness. Looking forward to the outhouse project, and a possible "shower" project. I haven't seen any good "done for you" camping showers. I think a foot-pump one might minimize wasting water? Looking forward to more videos!
Talking about adding a faucet, I'll be getting a Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet. A friend has one and its great. Internal battery powered faucet that can pump from any source, including quick connections to Dometics own water canisters. The magnetic base lets you use it anywhere, including the bumper of your car, fender of a trailer etc.
looks amazing .... I just had a really close call with a small Fire in the house ... Please put in a couple of fire extinguishers and a roap ladder that can drop out the window .... Remember they are called accidents... Not on purpose's ...
That's a nicely pimped out bug out bunkie. If you are going the AirBnB route, I would make sure the solar generator system would be locked up and secured. That would be rather easy to gather feet to the unscrupulous tenant.
Once again Dean ,,,,totally awesome.! With new technology implemented, you have demonstrated a next to zero cost of living. 😊❤May God continue to bless you for your blessings of mathematics and common sense . I hope Nathan buddy will complete his oasis equally well as you have . BLESS you and your family. ❤❤❤
Great work, Dean. I love seeing how your property is evolving, and learning from your experience on the land. Cheers, brother - and keep the content coming! 🍻
Hey Dean I was doing some thinking about thermodynamics in greenhouses and I'm sure having water thermal mass would be more effective in direct sunlight. It takes more energy to heat water up than it does anything else in a greenhouse, therefore the more you heat up the water the cooler your greenhouse. The amount of energy that your greenhouse absorbs is the sum total of all light that comes in, so by putting water in the sun and making it hotter during the day would mean it absorbs a larger portion of that energy keeping your greenhouse cool. The math works out solid, specific heat capacity equation, heat loss equation will point you in the right way
Dean...I 😂 when I saw this vid cuz I KNOW you and CP built this out a while ago...and you're JUST doing a vid now? 😂 I'm yankin your chain but seriously...I saw his video awhile ago and now I see yours. VERY cool you two collaborated on this project. Can't wait to see what else you guys come up with! Thanks for all you do to share part of your life with us!
Awesome place that you built I've been reading that solid state batteries are coming out this next year the price of lithium is still coming down in price
Looking forward to see how you wired your power supply to your circuits, looks super basic. I was going to add a sub panel and feed from the 240V but this might work better. Also, the Midea 8000 U shaped is a great unit.
I'm looking towards getting yourself to build an arktopia type house in a couple of years! It will be in Canada and for the planning of another in the USA, I'm happy to hire help so the building is quicker.
I have 5kw lfp battery for backup power in my house i can usually also run indefinitely for power outages from March to Oct with my solar panels . i also have an electric tractor ( that built), an electric utility car plus an EV that i can tap for added power during blackouts.. if you want a cheaper AC system. that i use in cooling my house and my greenhouses.. it just a ground loop ~ 1200 feet at +6' depth that i use for my house heat pump for winter heating. sure I could of used the heat pump to cool the house, which is fine, but running 2000 watts to get a 5 degrees cooler temperature then the ground temp. i just opted to use the ground temp directly for 1/10 the energy usage , I just use a small 40 to 96 watt variable speed pump set at 56watts and connected to rad and fan (140watts) and also into my hydronic radiators . currently I am under a heat advisory of +32C and humdex of 42c outside and it keeps my 1200sf house cool at 24C for around 200w per hour and it feels comfortable . and a couple years ago, when the heat dome went through, and it was +40c and humdex in the 70C outside my house was still around 26c and comfortable compared to what it was outside. where as your 5000btu AC unit is using 500 to 700 watts per hour and only able to cool a couple hundred feet . oh well just a couple thoughts for you..
Very impressive work, and grrat detail. You would have to pull the Bluetti in winter? Did you need to cut the trees back so no shadows for the solar panels? I am curious about the loft's temperature in winter and clearing the anow from the panels. (Yes, a spring project so not there yet).
You looked so excited in the thumbnail 😆😆 Eta: would love to know if you use a program for home school, or if you have designed your own? I could see either one. 😊
@@ArkopiaRUclips Dang. What's charge/discharge limit on one of those? My new project partner has a Bluetti system as well, currently lent out to a summer house neighbor, since my off-grid solar system is plenty enough. They love it, and will get one for themselves or next holiday season.
Great work 👍 I have the same Bluetti and was thinking to do something similar in my cabin using it for electrics. What’s the gauge of the electric wire u are using, do u just put a plug on the end? I wanted to add a shower also, but thought maybe there wouldn’t be enough power with the bluetti - what are your plans for on demand shower heating, do u think the bluetti can run a small electric water heater? Thx for the video, u definately gave me lots of ideas for my cabin project 😂
10g for the solar panels (overkill but have it), and household standard 14/2 wire (shielded because exposed). Just standard cord end to plug into Bluetti. Hot water heating would be too much for my system. Just outhouse, and for shower and laundry have to go back to my main yard.
I've been thinking about moving over to all cotton sheets too. Given that you've already explored the "rabbit hole", do you have a recommendation on a good brand that you can trust that 100% means 100%?
@@ArkopiaRUclips That's what I did with one of my systems that didn't have a ground connection. I was going to do that for all of them, but was warned against creating a "ground loop" (a circuit that goes to ground in more than one location). So right now I'm only grounding out circuits fed by solar systems without a ground pin on their charging cable (or who aren't powered from my whole house system at all). Good luck. If you ever go down that rabbit hole of what exactly to do for that and how to do it, I'd love to see a video you do on the topic.
@@ArkopiaRUclips I appreciate the response. There not easy to find or I'm just not looking in the right place. I need to figure out what size watt panel I can max out at. If I put 4 panels up what is the max watt panel each panel can be using the same Bluetti system you have. Amazon has the ac300 and the battery for $1899 right now.
The bluetti has 2 mppt charge controllers, 1200 watts each. So as close as you can get to 1200. I think 550 watt panels are pretty common now, so 4 of those for the Bluetti
😂. I am no bush crafter, that’s for sure. I am self sustainable, farming, freeze drying, and have the worlds best greenhouse too. Won’t see me fiddling with twigs in the bush. 😂
Yeah I don’t think a jug of water on the counter consists of “indoor plumbing” I couldn’t think of a worse building to sleep in. Zero insulation and built like crap. It’ll be hot in there the minute the AC shuts off

Brilliant little cabin. Always fun to see what you have been up to since last time!
Good job Dean, Nate is going to love it!
Dean! You're an absolute legend sir! What an amazing video and setup of your Haven Ultra
Had to treat the outside this spring, then just kept going on finishing everything. Turned out great. Kids love it. 👍
Great little setup there buddy... Making it real for your kids too!
Lovely little cabin. Ideal get away space 👍🏻
Such an awesome build and setup. Great job Dean!
I use the same bluetti system in my travel van. One or 2 more batteries and you will be set!

Nicely done! Looks perfect for what you want it for. Is the storage battery built into bluetty system?
With this model Bluetti, the brains is the top unit, and the bottom unit is all battery. Expandable up to 4 batteries (over 12 kw) 🤯

It’s a bunki life kit, haven ultra model.
