  • An official from the Texas Department of Public Safety publicly stated that police officers were hesitant to storm the school building and save the children from the shooter because they were afraid of getting shot. Uvalde police waited for around an hour outside of the school, preventing parents from rushing the building and waiting for back-up instead of doing the job they signed up for, which was saving lives during these situations. "A Texas Department of Public Safety official said responding officers were cautious as they entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas because “they could’ve been shot.”
Nineteen children and two teachers were murdered after authorities say an 18-year-old male entered with a rifle 12 minutes after he crashed a car near campus.
The New York Times reported the shooter was inside the school for about an hour before officers finally breached the classroom he was in and shot and killed him.
Reporters demanded answers during a contentious press conference Thursday afternoon. State law enforcement officials addressed the public a day after some parents with children in the school said they were prevented from going in by officers.
One girl inside the room reportedly bled for an hour after she was shot. She died at a hospital. It is unknown if that hour might have saved her life.
On Thursday’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, the host discussed the Tuesday’s horrifying events with DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez."

Well that's what they do. They're only brave when they believe their targets are unarmed and outgunned. That's why they shoot....people with knives, unatmed people, people ",reaching for something"....You get the idea. When it comes to ONE 18 year old killing small kids and firing sporadically at them all that "bravery" goes out the window.

Yea it was bs from the start. There is a huge chance in relying on that. People miss, shooters run. There are so many variables. It's not worth relying on especially given the correlation of gun accidents/shootings/etc and rise in gun sales. I don't understand how a simple background check is a problem. There are a lot of things that can be done. Without upsetting the ones who think guns are a lifestyle and more important than lives. The fact it has to be negotiated and settled in such a way, just so the hardon for gun people don't get emotional over is upsetting. I thought it was supposed to be "do anything to keep the kids safe" like the right says. All those anti-abortion pro life idiots are weirdly quiet about the kids being shot. And more angry about trying to fix the problem.

This the perfect case where the police are afraid of a 19 year old with an assault rifle who was on just about equal ground in regards to fire power. The difference should have been a showing of bravery and the execution of good training. If these assault weapons were not so dangerous, why do trained police cower in fear while innocent children die? I think we all know the answer and it is very clear. These weapons are not meant to be used by the general public or teenagers for that matter.

No. It only showed after the alleged incident to the group of friends crying and begging for their friend to be let go.
Myself and many of the other jurors felt the prosecution, and the cop, were not being forthright.

And no, School doesn't count as custody as stated in the Hernandez v. Peterson case aka the Parkland Shooting.
It is well-established that “schoolchildren are not in a custodial relationship with the state. A custodial relationship exists only if the government places “limitations upon an individual’s ability to act on his own behalf” that are similar in kind to incarceration or other forms of involuntary confinement.

Not at all. Good guys with guns and body armor went in as soon as they arrived on site. Two men from BORTAC, the Border Patrols' tactical unit, learned of the excessive cowardice and drove over 100mph to get there as quickly as possible, jumped out of their trucks and blew past the "perimeter", went in and engaged and terminated the shooter within 3.5 minutes of entering the building. The BORTAC members received minor injuries, but both of them, two men, were quoted as saying "we had to do something, the local POS cops were just standing around while the lives of small children were being snuffed out". The local police are garbage in most communities, it takes special operations to get anything done, anything that's even remotely dangerous.

It's so sad and shameful that them parent's were more brave and willing to charge in that school to safe their children while them cops were acting like chickens standing there doing nothing about it.

No questioned, those cops including the chief were cowards. They all deserve to be fired and in prison, they let those children, teachers, and families down.
How many lives could have been saved? If they had moved in quickly instead of standing outside drinking water.
    Disgusting 🤢

They dont deserve prison. You cant lock people up for putting their lived first. At the end of the day its a human right to put your life before others.
Im not a cop but I sure as hell aint risking my life to save others except for maybe 1 or 2 people. If I am in the midst of a shooting and have a gun Im finding a corner to hide in and only using my gun if the shooter finds me.

Not ever, they sent a robot in to kill a "Black" man with a gun once. First time in history. That was Texas too. In CA they burned down the cabin Dorner was in. All those guns but few acts of courage.

"It wasn't an active shooter situation but a barricaded hostage situation." But the cop just said that the officers didn't want to go into the building to stop the shooter because he was still shooting. They can't get their own lies straight and keep forgetting what they said in the same sentence.

No problem beating a person when they are selling cigarettes or shooting a kid with a toy gun, but this sh*t at the school is completely nonsensical. That's why people want to defund the police, especially when they aren't doing their job. Oh, and lying about what happened. They do that all the time.

  • @markmoore6258

In the police academy 20 years ago, we were told to rush in abs take the bullet so the children won’t have to. That’s the job.
Getting shot falls under the category of, “You knew the job was dangerous when you took it.”

I saw an interview on MSNBC with a retired FBI agent, who wondered why in the Hell there were no snipers at the classroom windows? He says its standard procedure in a barricade situation...a snippet take a shot to either neutralize him or create a distraction so the term of cops in the hallway could open the door. Nobody thought to use the windows? And a trained sniper doesn't even have to be that close to get a clean shot off. The agent was mystified as to why that procedure wasn't followed.
I just read this article about the mom who was handcuffed by US Marshals, preventing her from rescuing her 2 kids. She IS the real HERO here. Had those cowards just let the parents storm the class, that gunman would've been taken out in seconds. Every parent would be willing to risk taking a bullet for their child. Those damn coward cops. Swaggering around with their stupid cowboy hats, I truly think that the chief of police waited so long because he assumed all the kids were dead. And then there would be no witnesses to their cowardice.
