Despite their immediate success, they only released one album before they disappeared, and the truth about what happened to Kut Klose following their affiliation with Keith is messier than you could ever imagine.

I’m 27 (born in 94), but I’m an 90s R&B junkie! I discovered Kut Klose about 2 years ago, I am addicted to Get Up On It, Surrender and I Like. like wowwww , I wish they could’ve went further!
It’s shame how many really talented artist had/has been screwed over by the music companies and people they thought they could trust. Some of even the biggest names in the game was used to oblivion. Contracts has to seen by a lawyer that is yours and only yours not someone introduced by the label to you, I swear that’s even illegal cause there is conflict of interest. I feel for them. Keith fucked them up. Great videos as always bestie.
It’s not all Keith Sweat fault it’s the contracts from the music label back then everybody had bad deals I mean everybody.

My Mom met Keith Sweat in an airport several years ago& she mentioned she had a daughter that was a songwriter/singer and he just gave her his number like it was nothing. For some reason we never called him. I’m SO glad we didn’t! 🙏🏾RIP Ma💐
Keith sweat is a whole derelict. I happen to personally know his daughter who he was never there for nor nor did he have a relationship with. Her mother got child support because he was forced to pay. I’m not surprised he did them dirty.

But just know that prior to knowing her I loved me some Keith Sweat but after knowing that, his music just doesn’t sound the same. PS- regarding LL I know someone who is good friends with his wife. He’s actually a decent guy. I partied with him A few times in the 90’s because he was sweet on my friend and even though he was on and off with his current wife, he was very upfront with my friend and treated her kindly.

I had a chance to see Keith Sweat live back in 97 on the Jamazon Tour with SWV, Brownstone, Shades and Mark Morrison. It was an amazing show. I am not a huge Keith Sweat fan, but he put on a heck of a show. He mentioned the making of the LSG album during the show. Athena was there and she killed it on her part on "Nobody". Sad that they did not get a real chance as I loved their voices and they had their own sound.
You said it, he did not want to share the stage with them nor help propel their career because he saw them as his mere back up singers.
In my own opinion I think he was scared that these ladies will outshine him and become a mega star.
This is jealousy and insecurity, it's unfortunate that Mr sweat played this kind of game.
We need to do better.

Athena didn't do anything wrong by accepting her musical development and success, which was offered to her. If the others would have been wise and not led "by the green-eyed monster", they would have followed suit and allowed the company to market them led by Athena. This is how so many artists have become huge. Lionel Richard and the Commodores and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. Look how large Chaka became after she ventured from Rufus and she was large with him.
Diana was fucking the boss (berry Gordy), so she ain't a good example.

This, ultimately sabotaging and weakening the evolution of Black music. White bands from then to now are still together and strong, even if some members go solo, they always stay together.
This trio definitely made their presence in the R&B genre

I still constantly listen to their album. They are definitely underrated, and haven’t gotten the accolades and praise they deserve.
It’s more frustrating that your own people do this type of snake stuff to you. Our people went through this type of stuff back in the day from white people stealing material and claiming it, under paying, no royalties whatsoever. Now, it’s us doing it to one another.

Loved this group. Auntie used to have this album when I was younger. Kut Klose like En vouge had the potential of being that group with an everlasting legacy. Business is business however I still think Keith did them dirty.

I loved how elegant and classy Kut Klose came off, especially in the music video for Twisted. I'd say them and En Vogue were the queens of being sexy but extremely classy. On another note, it's depressing how many 90s acts were done so wrong by the industry and even worse so how today, many people in the industry try to act like they don't exist anymore or don't give them their flowers. You know, at first I was very saddened to hear that they need help from the public to record their second album, but after watching this video, I'm just happy that they're all alive, together, and willing to put out another project. It still saddens me to think how they had the rest of their prime years basically stolen from them though. :/

Maybe sign up with a management/publishing company once you start getting off, but your career is based upon how much you work and promote yourself. These ladies were a huge part of Keith's success. I am sorry to hear what became of the group and pray they will get their album completed soon.
Perhaps his continued success because Keith Sweat was huge I. the 1990’s. I Want Her. Was Song or Record of The Year. It may have been R & B but it may have been Pop. I forget.
I have their Surrender cd. I would put their talent on par with SWV and TLC. I Like is one of my favorite ballads of all time. The vocals in the 1st verse could melt butter. The lead changes from Lavonn in the beginning to Athena at the 2nd verse but it is difficult to hear the change. For that reason I don’t think Athena was favored because her vocals stood out. There must have been some other reason. In any case it’s a shame they didn’t get to continue. They had great vocal harmony and the sound was polished. Also the cd leaflet is well done which makes it even harder to believe a record company let them slip through the cracks. They each gave thanks to god, their families, extended families, and all that helped them. Then finally they give thanks as a group. Kut Klose was a great group name. Reading through all of it, I get a sense that even as young ones they were well-grounded with good hearts. Also, Keith Sweat did not write all the songs on their cd. He co-wrote a few, they co-wrote a few, and others were written by other writers. Keith is listed as the executive producer of the cd.
My god 😞 the Cemetary’s full of artists from the past and present who’ve been robbed by these wicked people in the industry. Seems like nothing changed and it’s an absolute disgrace.

I love that Surrender album. It still goes off 🔥 Every time I hear about these crazy contract deals it just blows my mind how devious the industry is. And these young artists be jumping head first in the shallow end just hoping for a chance at fame 🤕
The industry is brutal! However, the type of disdain Keith is showing seems too personal. He gave one girl all the attention all while throwing serious shade at the other members...hmmm 🤔. Now, he wants no parts of any of them and refuses to speak about the entire group. Seems like a personal relationship went bad. Perhaps that is the root of why things happened the way they did. Mixing business with pleasure can turn into a bad deal.
Also, when artists sign up under another celebrity, it never really ends well for the underling.
They deserve their money, I really liked their sound, beautiful voices, my favorite song is if you really want it ,all you got to do is get upon it. 💖
The vocals on the end of surrender to this day still give me chills . That song so 🔥

This is a sad story but unfortunately a common one in the music industry everybody is cut throat. I heard Keith Sweat was kind of a jerk and hard to work with and listening to this story. I guess the rumors were true
