@@darrylcarter3691 always mention r kelly!! Never put him under etc he deserved all the credit, their best tracks, all of my days, stroke u up, ghettoout, were written and produced by r kelly
"Visit Me" was hands down their best piece of *ART. The creative direction of it alongside the addictive production all over a slew of tracks like "Baby U Ain't Got Me", "Come Over" & "Ladies Man" ---- def could've helped bump the album up a few chart positions. But like Cassandra alluded to interview sources it really fell on the label's hands and they def missed out. That album is still a hot one 20 years later.
G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T was my favorite song but you can't forget about Stroke You Up, The Other Woman, Foolin' Around, and G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T Part II I still listen to Changing Faces their music is still in my playlist I so miss the 90's music 😍❤🥰
These ladies were a staple in 90's R&B. I still remember when 'That Other Woman' single dropped in the summer of 2000. I was 16 and that was arguably the hottest R&B track that year. That song has become one of my favorite R&B songs and I still listen to it till this day. I just realized these ladies are from NYC, one from The Bronx and the other from East Harlem which is crazy because I grew up in The BX and now live in East Harlem.:-)
I had no clue that Changing Faces did a rendition of "Come Over." Learn something new every day! I paused the video to look it up, and I must admit that Aaliyah's version edges out Changing Faces' rendition. Though the girls of Changing Faces were the better overall singers in my opinion, Aaliyah's more whispery, hummingbird-like voice was just more suited for that particular track. At any rate, I'd put either act up against 90 percent of the mainstream R&B garbage that's come out in the last decade.
"Visit Me" (2000) will always be hands down one of the best R&B albums to churn out from the very early millennium. The production sounds on that effort were very left-field, it def screamed of a Timbaland/Aaliyah composition but still maintained the usual Changing Faces flow + brand. There were so many potential hits, not just "Come Over" but other gems like "Ladies Man" & "Last Night" that could've really turned out the chart positions had their label not foolishly put the duo on the backburner. I swear there were so many obscure pieces back in 2000-2002, especially when noting Darkchild's & Missy Elliott's crew of artists (Mocha, Canela Cox, Rhona, Debelah, Nicole Wray, etc.)
Damn I hate to hear that they broke up. Years after they released GHETTOUT I ended up experiencing the whole damn song in my actual life and just to know that what I felt was sung in a song helped me get over it
