I had a chronic TFCC tear that bothered me significantly for over two years (at the age of 23 - I was injured at 21 snowboarding). Two years in I could feel it popping constantly, accompanied with pain… and couldn’t pick up a 15 lb weight in my dominant hand. I was a fit young buck that worked out constantly, but all that came to an end. I told my friends “I couldn’t hold my girlfriends purse for a second if she asked me to”. Depressed was an understatement. The doc initially thought it was just a hairline fracture, which it was, but failed to suggest an MRI and therefore missed the worst injury, my ligaments and cartilage. 3 months later nothing happened and I got an MRI and was diagnosed with multiple tears with TFCC being the worst. Apparently I missed the window to get the surgery done which I believe is the same as you referenced (they use pins to “hold the wrist together”). Fast forward two years and I had multiple doctors suggesting an ulnar wrist replacement. I did not like the long term outlook to do a surgery like that at 21. I was devastated and thought I’d deal with it my whole life, but I did my reasearch and found prolo and PRP therapy. Despite my skepticism and overall lack of hope, I ended up doing prolo once and PRP twice. 6 months later I was at 85% pain reduction and could actually pick up a weight. A year and a half later I was at 95%. 6 years later I’m at 99% with only certain very odd movements (which I know to avoid) that causing a minor pain. It genuinely saved my life and I highly recommend it to many, especially since very few doctors recommend this “holistic treatment.” Thank you for your work and comprehensive approach to treatment!
Question: a while ago i was doing overhead press in the gym. I felt a pinch around the base of my neck and above my traps. Since then at night when im driving i see halos around light and in general, am now sensitive to light. Can prolo help remedy this issue?
