Thank you very much for these words. Italians, especially the people of Emilia Romagna, the region where dream cars and motorbikes are built, have a massive passion for vehicles and history. In these places, you can see an F1 driving through the streets of the centre of Modena. That day I went with my father. those few laps in which they battled each other at the finish of the French GP is probably the greatest motorsports video footage in existence. A F1 car without the chassis seems almost empty and therefore, even more fragile. How Gilles Villeneuve emerged unscathed from the terrible accident in imola in 1980 with the T5 (almost equal to the T4), remains a mystery. Unfortunately two years later he did not have as much luck.
I have just finished reading a book that told of the golden years of Villeneuve and his car engineer, Mr.Tomaini, has always wondered how he came out unscathed. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, fate was not in his favor two years later.
I noticed you're italian, so I answer you in italian.
