@@socialtigerTV Yes. In America, we would say we "rode" with him in an elevator or we "took" an elevator with him. Sounds weird but there are many ways to say the same thing here. You can even use the term "hopped" in an elevator with someone and that would be deemed acceptable.

The first time I saw these classics on the track, I thought it was junior racing because the cars are much smaller than I imagined. Then I heard them zip by on a straight away and my ears confirmed....these were the real fucking deal.
thos cars had the perfect dimension to race in Monte Carlo... now F1s are like trucks
Ya, funny how when you go to an F1 race now, the 2 seater Toyota f1 cars, the historics and even the Porsche cup cars are louder than the actual f1 cars
You crash, you get hurt in these.
That's because the engines of today are smaller with turbo units. If you never heard the Ford Cosworth engines of the 1970's and the V 12 engine Ferrari's boy you really missed something! Today's F1 engines don't have nearly the same angry roar that the old ones had and the fans really miss that! Now they sound like fuckin' lawn mowers!

Living in Italy in 1976 myself and a few friends drove to monte carlo boy what a race. I should have been cheering on James hunt but it was niki in his ferrari that said it all. What a driver. All my Italian friends celebrated in great style. I just remember the sunburn. No factor 50 back then.

Why wouldn't you go the safe route if the option is there? You can still have spectacular racing with safety still in place- don't let current f1 paint a bad picture of 'safe' racing. The aerodynamics; and to a lesser extent- the increased width and length of the cars is what's preventing good racing. F1 could be JUST as anticipating as it was in the 'golden' era if they just made some GOOD changes. The 2019 and especially 2021 regulations are definately a step in the right direction, but I'm still not convinced it'll be as good as it was back then- perhaps the midway point? lol
So have you done anything nearly as dangerous as the current F1 drivers have to deal with? You may as well call yourself a nannied child too. All those things you listed (the last example is fucking retarded) have LOTS of safety precautions and techniques etc, to keep you alive or unharmed. They don't just go in willy-nilly scuba diving but take lessons, and can only go to certain depths, and after however many hundred hours can they go deeper etc. There's a process in place to keep amateurs from killing themselves. If there was an even safer way to go scuba diving- (within reason of ergonomics), they'd be implementing it. Motorbikes have TWO wheels, of course they're far more dangerous. If they could be made any safer they would be. Danger is always going to be there in any form of sports, normal people want to minimize it- not make more of it- especially just for the sake of FATALITIES. I'm not going to go through all your examples but you get my point. Yep, this'll be my last reply as obviously you haven't lived long enough to lose someone close to you or you just having something wrong in your brain. Either way we're done.

dj7oya Well, I’m old enough to remember Lauda, Fittipaldi, Peterson, Hunt and Reutemann. They were the rock stars then. When they got the car out of shape the fixed it with their feet. They were managing three pedals and a very short and not very precise gear lever. I doubt if any of today’s drivers would be any faster.

Has stupid as this may sound, with today's visual quality, It's good to see these cars in action ( Not in anger i know ) to almost see what the spectators saw at the time of these beasts in action rather than the visuals we only see today in the really low resolution VHS copies. Amazing.

So many components made these Mobil works is art big tyres big wings big air intake a tacho that starts at 4000 but mostly & the most important item they could put in modern F1 is that beautiful chrome gate manual gear shifter even later sequential shift but flappy paddle in a race car what more can a koala bear

All this is fab but for me nothing would be as good as being able to see Ayrton Senna going round in the 1993 maclaren again but in 2016. that would be better than the race on sunday.
